My problem is with fanboys, lamenting in the comments about how wonderful it would be to lock George in some basement, trading food and empty buckets for new chapters. At this point I can't even tell, how many times I've heard Martin saying, that he is a "gardener", not an "architect". It simply doesn't work like that for him. If he finishes the story in his own way - wonderful. If not... Oh well.
As I said, Dan&Dan finished it quickly. Those guys hated that ending. I agree that dialogues did drop in complexity and wits, but that's exactly why they should shut up and leave George in peace already.

If you give a straightforward answer it can be picked apart and being abstract in your answers allows people to view your work as art and see more into it than even you meant to put into it, and by not being rigid in his answers he can lay claim to everyone's analysis of his work.

I couldn't have explained it any more clearly myself.

I produced some beats/music, its litterally the same, this beat in my head how to translate it, sometimes you get stuck or this piano note/ or this word doesnt quite fit etc
Now i want to be a writer/blog post writer. And im learning that its basically the same. We cant escape translating our creativity in our heads.
Is that a hard pill to swallow for you? For me it is

    • @theshadowsovereign8914
      @theshadowsovereign8914 Год назад

You're most certainly an amateur writer. Your grammar and sentence structuring requires work. When you're writing, the use of, 'comma's' is absolutely essential, as they convey how the sentence and words are meant to be spoken. Using, 'colons' was not needed once in your two sentences. You had 80 words from the beginning of your sentence, until your first period. Yes, I counted the words. Concise, detailed, and expressive words/sentences are all the hallmarks of a good writer. (And proof-reading before submitting) I am extremely grateful that I had the hardest English Teacher during my High School experience, as she taught me how to apply those key hallmarks to my writing style.
Starting on your grammar, is a good start to becoming an expressive writer. It's funny, I never finished my Grade 12 as I was a couple credits short. I never felt any need to go back, as there was nothing left for me to gain from that generalized education program. I excelled in all subjects, especially English. Once I got bored and proved to myself I could easily get high marks, I stopped bothering to exert any additional effort. It was a waste of my time. However, I wrote Master-Level University Essays and Papers for a Friend, and they all received an, 'A-Mark'.
The closest project I have to writing a story, was when I made the storyline for my, '4-Hour' Fallout 4 Movie. I had a general idea of the storyline on how to begin and end the plot. I filled in the dialogue and all the details as I filmed and edited the project. Intuition is what helped guide me through the story. That was around a 100-page script that I managed to finish in just a little over 1000 hours, and 3 months of 12 hour days to complete. That included building the sets, filming, editing, writing dialogue, voice-acting, etc.
That Fallout 4 project was amazing for me, and it was an absolute joy to work on. There is one aspect of writing that is absolutely essential, you need the passion and knowledge to be able to effectively write a story with a compelling plotline. I could very easily write a book or a novel. However, I require something to be passionate and knowledgeable enough about, to be able to write something of significance. If you write for the sake of writing, the end result will never turn out well.
Good luck with your future writing endeavors. 😀

His recollection about riding the "L" train in Chicago perfectly describes the way inspiration often strikes me. So many times I've been sat on a bus or train for a work commute and a scene or sentence just pops into my head. The lucky thing these days is that we've all got phones with notepads on, so it's easy to get your thoughts down quickly, however dumb they might seem later. I had watched the same vids about him talking about Gardener and Architect, and talking about Tolkien making Good guys and bad guys not have enough grey and not explaining Aragorn's tax policy, like 100 times each! 😂

The real question that needs to be asked is when will George give Jeyne Poole a break. She’s done literally nothing wrong and has a life probably worse than Theon. And (SPOILERS for Theon sample chapter) after getting rescued by Theon she still doesn’t get a break!! She gets frostbite and broken ribs. WTF George

Martin is constantly reminding the audience that he's just writing as realistic as possible. It's a fictional universe, but the characters behave as real people and can get unlucky in the same way. In our real world there are maybe millions of people living lives worse than Jeyne Poole's - there's just usually nobody to tell their story.

I'm hoping my man San (The Hound) also heard something in the flames when he got burned, and that somehow established a connection between himself and Rhllor. Which will make him a vital figure in the story going forward. I thought the show was headed in that direction by having him receive/accurately interpret a fire vision on his first attempt, but as usual they squandered good character development. Also, despite The Hound's assault being reason enough to fear the flames, I'd imagine having heard a voice in the fire as it happened would propel those feelings to a whole new stratosphere.
PS- I'd say George gave Theon several breaks...😆🤷‍♀️.

I thought that was common knowledge. It's literally what the books are about! (But then again I have watched way too many theories)
aka The Many Faced God was called "The Red God" oh the show aka The Lord of Light. So no wonder Arya was chosen to help without knowing.
In the books the MFG is all the gods in one. He hates when death is stolen from him. What steals from death? Zombies. The undead. It makes sense that the MFG would send Arya to give a million deaths to him.
It's not done well in the show.
