BAD WORKMAN - Live modular synth improv in Bristol

- Here’s my second gig as BAD WORKMAN.
This time it took place in Dareshack, Bristol at the most recent We All Play Synth event hosted by James Bragg and Chris Bird. I was one of 11 different performers and it was lovely to feel part of this ever growing community. Really great attendance at the event too. Dareshack is a fabulous venue for hosting this kind of thing.
As with all my live Modular sets as BAD WORKMAN, it was entirely improvised with no idea of what tempo, direction or mood I was going to go in. I’ve long been fascinated by the idea of genuinely live electronic music. This is akin to walking on stage with a guitar and improvising. The guitar has no built in backing tracks or agenda!
The drum beat at the beginning is so good, but I was not prepared for the encore. It was beautiful. Thanks for posting!
I think back fondly on all the Adventures in Modular shows, sharing a lot of the same technical frustrations. This is awesome, Gaz! Congrats!!
Gaz, that was brilliant! We see clearly someone who is a musician first and foremost but who also has complete command of the instrument he's playing.
Give Gaz an inner tube and an imperial socket set, you'll always get a performance. Great to see the channel growing.

Lovely ebb and flow throughout this performance. Wonderful reaction from the audience also. It's so good to see these events becoming a movement, with many different styles on display. Thank you for posting this Gaz, such a tonic after such a sad week. Best wishes xx

Love this performance, excellent Gaz, so good to see you feeling and expressing the energy the music was creating - that you were creating. . Amazing control of the modular gear and such a big ensemble of sounds from a compact case… looked great on the the stand too. Much respect - it sounded spot on. I see you doing 1-2 hour dance set very soon : )
