Yes, if your ship is sunk, you will lose everything on your ship. The only thing you will keep is the money in your wallet, and the upgrades that are safe in your upgrade chest.
Watching this makes it a bit intimidating to start out in this game. That small ship got hammered by you 😂 Does it take a long time to unlock the big ships?
Not really. As soon as you complete the final exam/tutorial, you will be able to crew the Trincomalee, which is the ship I used in the video. You won’t be able to fully crew it, but it will be enough to start out. If you want to get into the larger line ships, then that will take awhile!
Hello! The R means that I turned the crew off on the cannons on that side. Basically, it helps you reload your cannons on the other side of the ship faster because they have more crew available to do it. You turn the side off by pressing F5. The red X is used when you turn off one deck of guns using F1-4. I do that in a situation where maybe I know that my top guns would miss if I used them, or they would be ineffective .
@@MichaelSharp667 Great, thanks for that, that function is kinda vital when you are down on crew for sure. I had a thought around how you could add value to the start of the battle vids, Talking about your loadout would be super useful and why you are set up the way you have i.e. Wood build, Gun Selection and strategy to win. I have tried a number of different wood builds and found Sabicu/Sabicu is the best option for cost versus speed. I have found I really value fast over strength - Teak/White Oak is a very costly business, say 6,000 dubs versus 1,000 dubs. I found you get ripped to bits with a Fir/Fir build. I would imagine at Class 1, Live Oak / White Oak is the way to go as these ships look slow no matter what you do. Anyway, your views are really helpful. Cheers :)
Yeah I can try to incorporate that into my future pvp videos! Yes, Sabicu is a good option as a "cheap-man's-teak" as it is cost effective and gets you good bonuses. For ships of the line, sometimes it depends on what build you want. Many people choose to go with white oak/white oak rather than live oak/white oak. It depends on if you want more thickness or more hull HP. Sometimes thickness doesn't matter since the ships/players you're fighting may have good penetration, so you would want to go for WO/WO. That build also doesn't slow you down as bad as LO/WO.
Haha yes I could have, but I wanted to show a lot of the engagement on video to demonstrate, and the snow was an easy/fast target. I certainly have taken down larger ships! And they intended audience for this was newer players who are looking into getting into PvP, so this was a relatable target.
An experienced captain in a Snow is very dangerous to a Trincomalee. Unless the Trinc Captain is also experienced and knows how to turn fast and sail backwards and turn, the Snow is able to stern camp and rake and sink it. When I hunt in a Snow, the Trinc is my preferred target as it does not have stern chasers.
About one year ago, they got rid of the separate PvP servers and now there is only one. There is no longer a distinction between “EU” and “Global” servers.
@@MichaelSharp667 Only difference being the lag which would indicate that the servers are in Europe. I use to do okay on the US servers but can't play on the EU servers.
Agreed! I recently started grinding my indefatigable and ingermanland and love those ships. Not enough time in the day to grind them all at the same time though! Ha!
If you’re talking about those few broadsides I had the wrong convergence on, yes, thank you for pointing that out! Sometimes people make mistakes, but at least it was fun!
As a Brit looking at the chart sheds a tear to my eye ) :
Yes it is unfortunate that the Brits have lost so much ground but hopefully we can gain some back!
reminds me of pirates of the burning seas just without the durpy land/bording fighting
Interesting pronunciation of HMS Trincomalee. It’s still a floating Warship to this day in Hartlepool Royal Navy museum
in pvp battle if my ship is sunk by online enemy I will lost about rum, hull repair kit, cannons, upgrades perk... or not

Is it possible to board an opponent's vessel in this game?
Yes it is possible! You just need to make sure both ships are going slow enough, and that you have pressed 9 to get your crew prepared to board!

Hi Michael, useful video, what does the "R" stand for on the guns? When would you use it compared to the red "X"? Cheers 🍺

Nice video and thanks for the info but I suppose you could have found a fatter prey than just 1 Snow+ AI vs. your Trincomalee:)

@@hullabaloo9824 I agree but not all human players know how to use the advantages of a snow
Game still only have EU servers?

I am in the US and I do not experience too bad of a lag, even though it is still hosted in Europe. I agree it may depend on where you are.
