Love it! In my 32 year high-tech process development engineering career, improvements & efficiency was paramount. Design of experiments, Lean 6-sigma process excellence, failure mode effects analysis on and on. We are very similar! Thank you for this. 😊
Your presentation applies to fill in blank business you are doing. This information works for every business not just detailing. That is the beauty of the presentation.
As a reformed polish / pad junkie, I'm pleased to share the joy of weightlessness of sticking to just one line of polishes. Polish, compound, and cleaner wax. I may experiment with just using the one polish with a foam polishing / compounding and foamed wool pads. I did the same with coatings. I just have a "lite" and "multi year" coating - from one line that is incredibly easy to use and isn't going to require a respirator. I also haven't had soap in my garage since 2017. Rinseless only. I'll never use soap again. Ever.
What brand do you use for rinse less washing in your garage? I’ve been using ONR and Uber Wolf gang. I don’t think I’ll go back to soap either, beats taking out all the equipment too. It’s just a matter of my clients trying to understand the rinse less process. But for my vehicle it’s all it gets.
I'm LOVING this one!! I'll definetly be listening to this on repeat! Thanks for everything you've done for the industry, Yvan. Changed the game for those who paid attention.
That was one of my previous jobs, I was a Subject Matter Expert in the Pharmaceutical Industry, wrote and edit more than 200 SOP’s and Functional Requirements and Specs. Is a must do for any successful business.
Such an amazing video, and yeah as you stated regarding Coatings, thats also one of the reasons why despite Diamond ProTech sounding perfect on the sheet, it simply doesnt work in reality. Too many layers and sadly not up for the task.
The more efficient an operator becomes the more value has to offer. What kind of compensation system might you recommend to keep such a person? Do you have videos on how to keep and attract the kind of resources necessary for a business to scale. Thanks for the video and the useful information.
I am interested in opening my own detailing business Ivan. The S.O.P, that should be 15-30 pages long. Is this for all standard operating procedures correct? So from the prep wash ,drying, where to find everything, etc?? Do you have an actual format or example we can refer to? Also, I know you are busy between your shops, d.i.y . For people who want to start a detailing business and have a number etc, do you offer consulting over the phone or Zoom etc?

Good idea
I no longer use soap. Rinse less is king. I use it on everything!
Curious to know your thoughts on paint protection film (PPF)?
Great
Hey Ivan. When you mentioned 120/hr for a rate. Is this for polishing and coating? Or any service?
Any service, your time is worth the same.
A quick comment on SOPs. For a professional detailer, you only need SOPs if you want to increase profits, improve quality and work less hard!
True
Hi Ivan, how do we inquire about having a training session in our area?
Send me an email yvan1lacroix@icloud.com
What wax fits your criteria? One that can get on plastics and stay on paint for a day and still wipe off?
There are not many, this channel isn’t for product recommendations

Every operation requires its own SOP. There is no generic SOP, you need to develop them yourself.
Coaching is done by phone

I'll tell clients I'll charge the same price of a coating for a paste wax cause it's actually more difficult to do 😂
