Loved the quality of the video production! And your voice-over is perfect. I appreciate the meter of speech, and your pronunciation. Never rushed, almost reverent in tone. Great job!
Excellent video and sound quality John, I would love to see a longer version with closeups of the stone work. Your historical narration is top notch sir. Thank you,
I am a Maxwell. My fifth Great Grandfather who was a notorious Baptist convert who was represented by Patrick Henry for preaching in Urbanna Virginia. Thomas Maxwell, our roots go back to Scotland and this castle.
Sounded wonderful. I think the quieter tone of voice you use to explain the history reflects genuine awe and pride for these valiant Scottish defenders. I say this because I am a Texan in America and we use the same reverence even we are in the vicinity of the Alamo.( lots of Scotsmen fought there as well.) Can't wait to see the inside!❤
Absolutely beautiful castle even in ruin. I can imagine how wonderful it was back in the day. I agree that Longshanks had the 60 valiant Scotsmen put to death. He was a brutal and iron-fisted ruler. The sound and scenery are good. The tour guide is a keeper as well.
The picture and sound quality are so great, I felt like I was there! The movement was very smooth. I think you’ve masted the program. Thanks for sharing!
Much appreciated Jenny and thanks for taking the time to comment. Hope you aren’t missing Scotland too much… assuming of course you are ‘the’ Jenny Bruns 😆
Hi John. Greetings from Canada. Video and sound quality is awesome. I look forward to the longer videos. Keep up the good work. I love The Scottish Detectorist vids as well! ❤😊
Many thanks Marilyn. I’ve watched it on my phone and iPad and all looks good, on my 52” tv a little grainy, but that’s probably because my TV is rubbish 😂 thanks for the feedback
10x10! Another great video. Watching videos on this channel while I wait for my appointment. Makes me really wish to see Scotland one more time. Cheers! 🥰👍
The video and audio are wonderful. Thank you again for such wonderfully educational and beautifully done videos, John! They are truly appreciated. I’m guessing that metal detecting the most would not be possible because the site is probably protected, but the treasures that could be found there….😁👍🏻
Visited that beautiful castle twice. 2016 and 2019. Our guide also took us into the woods behind the castle to see an older ruin. Very interesting history in your beautiful Scotland
Yep, a very good product John...Nice work👌 Om.hopi g one day you will pop across and do Burleigh Castle in Milnathort. This little castle was (my research leads me to believe) the ancestral home of my great grandfather x12 Sir James Balfour of Pittendreich!
Greetings from Denmark. Great video. Nice quality in both video and sound. I would love to see more of the interior of the castle. I would like to have a map in the start of the video to show where in Scotland we are :)
Great sound and video. Hope to see the full version. Please (maybe?) show a map at the start of the full video of where your castle is located?? That would be great to know... 😉
What an unusual shape and with a beautiful defensive moat! Obviously didn’t stop the invaders eventually and such a shame it stands as a ruin. I’d love to see inside it ! What’s the purpose of 5he scaffolding? Great narration as always John and I really enjoy seeing Scotland until I can one day see it for real myself 😊
Loving it john!!! Great video footage and sound quality keep them coming mate i love your hostory lessons and would love a tour with you around any castles in Scotland one day thanks for sharing keep up the hard work mate 👍
Wonderful quality audio, video and narration and really fascinating material. I'd like to think Edward I spared them but from what I've heard about him I doubt it :(
The video and sound look great. Only a couple spots at the beginning where you went back and forth on the castle. A cut back to a wider view would have shown it all and been less jittery. I too would like a zoom in on some of the better parts of the stonework. Thank you for these videos and hope this feedback helps.
Great Video on that and hope you tell us more about the King some time .I live in America and know very little about English kings just that we kicked one out of here long ago. Just few wee years to all of you. Thanks for the Show and Tell love them.
Great news that you are thinking of making some longer videos. Almost as good as being there and hearing about the history is illuminating. More please John
Oh my god it’s stunning! 🥺🫨 Longshanks was a prick, he would have killed them!! You gotta do really long videos of ALL the castles! I’m Australian and the oldest things we have here are rocks!!! 😂
Interesting locations, great filming and excellent narrative. As some of your followers have already mentioned, I miss a map of the locations in your short videos for a quick overview. Adding drone photography would definitely give it another dimension, but also a cost to be factored in. My family is watching your videos and we are planning a trip to Scotland next year based on these so we will likely contact you at some stage. As I will be at the Detectival next month, I may even bump in to you there already. All the best from Sweden. /Patrik
Wow! What a beautiful castle. Great video John, your voice sounds slightly different in this video, it sounds better in your detecting videos IMHO 🤷♂️
Hi John. Greetings from Germany. Great good video in quality. In my mind there is to many flow and walking around in the video. I ve problems with sickness in cars and on ships and for people with these problems they could have uncomfortable feelings while watching. 😢
I loved it John looking forward to seeing your fuller version. I watch a lot of RUclips videos and love history have you made one on Blackness Castle? I used to play around and about it as a child but really never knew any of the history of it.
I liked both the sound and video quality. But most of all, I appreciate the research you've done for this and other videos. Your tours are not just pretty views but lso of substance. As an American, I also enjoy your soft Scottish burr.
Excellent video and commentary. I very well be could be wrong but I don't think there was one molecule of mercy in Edward 1st body, particularly regarding Scotland.
What's going on with the scaffolding? Is there some repair going on? Is there considerable opposition to restoring a historic property and castle? I'm sure the expense would be enormous yet some of the castles are quite magnificent and it seems it would save them from further ruin and disintegration.
Thanks Simòn. There are many different theories for the three walls versus four but the most likely is it’s built into an outcrop of bedrock which is a triangular shape and the moat is then fed by springs, so likely that’s the reason. Thanks for watching
Video is top notch. Your sound needs to be turned up. When I have to put my ear buds in just to hear it. Have enjoyed your videos, sound is not great. Sorry...
Let me know your feedback on sound quality and video quality and fingers crossed I’ve mastered my new audio software and longer videos to come!! 🥳 🎉
Thank you...I am a Maxwell and know something of the story of the castle but your commentary encapsulated much...thank you John.
Many thanks and happy new year Janet! There will be a longer video coming soon!! Watch this space!!
good sound excelent video clarity
This is beautiful John. I'd love to see inside. Thank You
I am loving these longer form tours!

Really like this. The bits of history are interesting and the photography is great.
Let’s go, let’s go treasure and Adventure🌺💕✌️👵

Excellent outcome. Great voice over, calm & compationate. What a treasuretrove awaits your continued projects. Well done, John.

Aww thanks 😊 Glad you enjoyed thanks for watching
I think you mean the Mel Gibson version of EI. The actual King was well known for his generosity and gifts of estates and titles to Scots.
@@visitscotlandtours1 missing Scotland so much! Your pics and videos help, though. Keep them coming!!
Looks and sounds great!!! All the way from California....We love your videos and history lessons.
Aww thanks 😊 glad to hear it!! Much appreciated
Incredible what that castle has seen over the centuries. I'm in awe of these castles.

Great quality video from what I can see and hear! Fabulous castle and amazing to think it dates from the 13th century!
Many thanks and best wishes
10x10! Another great video. Watching videos on this channel while I wait for my appointment. Makes me really wish to see Scotland one more time. Cheers! 🥰👍

Outstanding looking ruin. I've never seen a castle like it. The quality of the editing looks amazing. Good stuff. Bless up bro 👊
Much appreciated as ever Nick! Legend
Loved the video, John. Looked professional. Great information on the castle. I’d love to see a tour of the inside.
Wonderful, thanks so much

Definitely more to come! Thabks
Another fantastic video tour! Your sound/video quality was crisp and clear!
Excellent, thanks Jennifer. Much appreciated
I was going to add you were missing your hat 🧢 😂
Visited that beautiful castle twice. 2016 and 2019. Our guide also took us into the woods behind the castle to see an older ruin. Very interesting history in your beautiful Scotland
Great video, I scraped my initials on one of the walls inside the castle, way back in the late 60s. Caerlaverock was my childhood playground.
Oooh naughty George 😂 wonder if they are still there 🤔
10 years ago they were.@@visitscotlandtours1

Looks great John. Good job.
Thanks Sharlene
I think the quality is great, I would watch a video of the interior of the Castle. Taikuu John..
Perfect, give us more please. Even all the way from Australia.
That was a great video. I would love to see inside. And I don't believe for one minute that Longshanks was benevolent.
This is a great video, it makes me want to go back to Scotland.
Video and audio or great.
I would love to see more. My ancestors lived here. Thank you so much for the video
Great video John. Looks like a lovely day and the camera/editing worked well. Stay safe.👍👍

Great video. He definitely hung them and murdered them. I love these videos. Thank you.
Much appreciated! I agree! He wasn’t called the hammer of the Scot’s for handing out gifts!!!

Wonderful quality audio, video and narration and really fascinating material. I'd like to think Edward I spared them but from what I've heard about him I doubt it :(
Hey John! The video is beautifully done. The sound could be a little louder. That's my only critique. Can't wait to see inside.

I think the transitions were good, and the audio was ok. I had to turn it up a bit to hear you, but you sounded clear.
Much appreciated Robert. Might have had my mic a bit low as I didn’t have my metal detecting harness on!

Greetings from Arizona! Video is great, sound is maybe a bit low in volume. That being said, I'd still watch even if you held the camera upside down.
I hope in the future to see a video on my ancestral home. Mugdock park. Subscribed to your detector channel, now this channel also.
Hope you took the Deus mate😉

It’s a bit run down but hey, great foundation and it’s nothing a bit of a handyman can’t fix.

Is there a practical reason for building a triangular curtain wall?
Thanks Simòn. There are many different theories for the three walls versus four but the most likely is it’s built into an outcrop of bedrock which is a triangular shape and the moat is then fed by springs, so likely that’s the reason. Thanks for watching
Are they rebuilding parts of the building or just stabilizing it?
Hung and muurdered.
Haha 😛
Why are these not being restored and probally protected from the elements???? British heritage needs to do more
