it's great to have bands like death grips that can manage to capture such dark and terrifying aspects of the human psyche, delving into the real depths of the mind and the existential terror that modern-day society and drug binges can bring. but despite the anger, fear, depression and insanity, death grips also has a strange hopefulness to it? like it represents some ungodly amount of pure determination and primal inner strength that man can have, even when faced with their worst nightmares. i really like 'On GP', because i feel it represents that well. black rope, tied in your chamber, your swan song a phone ring. but you just can't die, the power of the human spirit has risen above the rope. i dunno, i just like that song and it really hits me in the gut to listen to (but in a good way).
