I am an experienced gigging keyboard player for over 30 years and have been playing this song recently thinking some parts are a little tricky, however watching your tutorial has made me realise i.m not playing certain chords right, so thanks for the tutorial, just shows you.re never too old to learn!

Thank you. The way you broke it down was super cool. That song is like a simple yet complex math problem. Cheers!!!!

Thank you for this great tutorial! Very helpful, and the way you've broken it down has made it way more attainable for me.

Honestly, I know this was posted years ago, but literally, you deserve a better keyboard. I'm working on this to play with my band and it requires more than what I'm guessing is close to a Clavinova.

Makes it look so easy! I'd previously only managed the 13 beat riff...

Of course I did Collins' count in... 1,2,3,4. Then I played the first 2 drum hits on the table. (Scared my wife!) You should play the whole song through also, George, either at the end, or as a separate video.

My point in your playing the whole song is for the benefit of all Genesis fans, regardless of whether or not they play an instrument. Those who may not be interested in tutorials because they don't play, would nevertheless enjoy seeing and hearing the song played in full. Your call, though.

Well, I'm game! If you know how to organize these big projects with the audio and video editing, then we're good. Otherwise, I have to wait for invites, since I'm barely computer literate!

Actually its 13/4 NOT 13/8 since it's determined by kick and snare. 13/8 would mean that the bassline and the guitar doubling it would determine the meter. 6/4 + 7/4 would be even easier to comprehend. Just count it out along with the drums.

the "3 chord pop song" is a direct jab at Phil Collins, which caused Tony a lot of envy with the success of his 3-chord song, "in the air", which he claims Phil kept to himself and did not present to the band. Phil claims he did, since it wasn't much before production, being, indeed, just a 3-chord song..

tony could have easily been as famous as phil. except for the fact that tony isn't a good singer like phil.
