PSP was my first console type system since the genesis.

-Hacked, load roms off the card
    -Amazing and massive game catalog
    -Awesome mid-game sleep feature

My favorite model was my red God of war model 2000. I like that model 3000 has a mic but the disk drive is so flimsy on that one. Tekken 5 Resurrection was so impressive on it back in 2005, and still holds up today.

Good choice. I have not tried many handhelds but the PSP is still great and my favorite aswell, especially if you emulate snes, gameboy games and more. Things I dislike are UMD loading times so I went with games loaded on the memory cards, loads faster. A second joystick would have been great for games like monster hunter where you could move the camera with it. The vita fixed that but had it's own issues aswell. Nowadays I go all digital but I respect you box collectors hussle. Oh yeah, I still have 3 PSPs lying around. Have a nice weekend guys.

I’m an older guy and I started collecting these things about 12 years ago since they were pretty cheap at around $25-$45 and games/movies for them were a few bucks each so I scrounged up a lot of these things. What attracts me to this system is the “stand alone” technology in the design. This was pretty much the last system that didn’t have or require internet or wi-fi connection in its function. Yes, one could connect to the internet with this but it wasn’t needed to play games. Pawn shops were a good source for these things and I picked up repair parts to refurbish units and they’re easy to work on. I assembled a collection of all the various generations of the console and a bunch of games and movies for my daughters to remind them of their younger years and that’s where I stopped. I notice that the prices for these are a LOT higher now and most of them are sold with mods that’s full of games which is pretty nice but, I still lean towards the individual disc system instead of the hard drive for the games. I remember men in my platoon had these while we deployed to Iraq in 03-04 and back then it was an amazing unit. Thanks for the video sir!

THIS YO BOY POKEMON FROM GAMERS ONLY FACEBOOK GROUP. BIG FAN 😎🎮👍 I I never grew up with the psp mainly the game boy adv, ds and 3ds. but I love hand held gaming so I started collecting
For psp last summer and im now AT 50 games. I'm only collecting exclusives becuz I have plot of the same games already on ps2. I love watching movies on my psp in the bathroom, work lunch and bus. Also yes it is hard to buy psp games even here in the U.S. 4th largest city HOUSTON TEXAS. Most retro stores have small pickins for psp but luckily theres a retro store in another town an hour away that actually have a whole wall dedicated to the psp 😍😎🎮👍

The PSP was a great system but for me it was too expensive. If it was your only system the price was okay. I finally got into it with the PSP "Street" for 100 Euros which was a VERY good price. It was cool to have almost-PS2 like quality games on it but controlling them with the stick wasn't for me. My favourite games were the ones that were unique to the system and controlled with the d-pad, like Pursuit Force, Wipeout Pure, Loco Roco, Goku Makaimura and some shoot em ups. Still a great system, it just has the right size and fidelity for a portable to actually play it on the go.

Outside of my local indie stores, no one has PSP stuff around here anymore. Trying to round out my collection has basically involved a lot of online shopping.

I love my PSP. So many titles so little time. It was amazing technology wise for the time period. And you can still get cheap games.

Reggie, you're forgetting the fact you can hook up a psp GO to your tv AND use a wireless ps3 controller to play it, no other psp system can do that.
It has 16gb internal storage and a slot for additional memory. I modded mine with 128gb storage.

I like the PSP a lot. My first one was the last console my mom bought me. I was 19. She heard her coworkers talking about it. She called me during her lunch break to see if I heard about it and if I was interested. I told her I was and I would eventually buy it. I was still living with her at the time and I was getting ready for work and she shows up with it. Sadly I left it in a rental on my first trip to Vegas a year and a half later.

Top portable of all time. I just imagine what the vita could of been if Sony would of pushed it like the psp. Hopefully switch takes up the mantle.
I still own my 3000. 2nd one I bought the first one I left on my car roof and drove away. I realized it a few miles away. Came back and it was gone
Either it got ganked off the street near my house at the time or it wound up staying on and fell off on the highway as I traced my steps back 4x. I went out and bought a new one.
My first psp was the white 2000 model Darth Vader one. I gave that to my step son and bought my daughter the pink one. They loved em, at the time.
Favorite games from it, tactics ogre, and ff7 crisis core. Two games we will probably never see again :(
Reggie your collection looks like mine. I sold off all my ps1 games back in the day for needing money and am so pissed now as I had all the classics like suikoden 1 and 2 and all the OG black case ff games etc.. All my nes, snes tg16 and genesis systems and games got stolen as my house got robbed by some crack heads that knew I had em. I could never prove it was them, but who else breaks in and only takes your game systems and games.

PSP Go was a great idea and wrong time. I love the portability aspect of it but yeah it really needed that UMD option. I love how sleek it is and super easy to hack. Great emulation device. Untold Legends and Infected are a few of my favorite PSP games along with the GTA titles and God of War. Personally I have better memories with my friends playing PSP but overall I love the Vita even more. The Vita is still a solid system in 2021 and really the PSP is too. I like that the Vita used cartridges and had the small boxes.
PS: when you were doing your meme on that PSP commercial I was cracking up 😂

Glad to see you also play Need for Speed Carbon OTC and Twisted Metal Head On. Some of my favorite PSP games. Not sure if your into the Medal of Honor series but they have two on the PSP (Heroes and Heroes 2) worth a look. Not much to them but there honest to goodness ports to there console counter parts and back when you could play online they had up to 32 people multiplayer which was big for the PSP.

When it first came out, I thought little of the system. However, given time, I started to understand the features and capabilities of the machine to the point that even my wife wanted one. Thus, I got one for her before I eventually got one myself.
