Congratulations and this was a good video I enjoyed it. Winwing makes awesome stuff. Your Simpit is looking very nice. I am Starting to think you need a "The Warthog Project" Cockpit to put it all in. I do not know if you have seen His videos or Know him, but I would think as helpful as he is you could try to get some help from him if you would ever need any. Imagine building a A-10 from scratch making all the parts plus the interface to DCS. Awesome Cool Stuff Thanks for the Fun.
Warthog project is awesome and we are followers of him on Instagram. Did you see his video on mixed reality? That's how I would convert to VR if I ever did, but I will probably retire from DCS before then. It's hard to play when backpacking the world in retirement.
I added a left hand mouse to my setup years ago. It was totally weird at first, but now I love it. I use it in windows sometimes to give my right hand a break 😆
The Winwing full cockpit main panel is (near) endgame material and looks great. Despite loving the tactile feedback of feedback actual switches and knobs, I’m personally leaning towards using 1 or more tablets for instrument/MFD and UFC/ICP emulation, to have a more airframe (and car) agnostic solution to suit a wide variety of aircraft and cars (racing sims) having a dual use racing/flying rig build in mind. I know I have a huge learning curve ahead of me with Helios, Matric app and the DCS UFC app, possibly mixing and matching them. Still having a pre-fab near complete cockpit experience tailored to specific aircraft is nice to see. And the Winwing F/A-18 MIP is flexible enough to use with other aircraft. I’m sure one could make a front panel frame with aluminum profile, where you could enable relatively easy rearrangement of the panels (i.e. flipping the left MFD and center UFC/ICP). Keep the videos coming Juice. Btw, the aluminum profile based “ejection” seat is something I’m looking forward to seeing more of.
You just described my definition of "Immersion" in the cockpit. VR takes that away from me. Mixed-Reality can't get her fast enough for some of us, right? Thanks for the comment! ~Juice
Great video, thanks. Do these work in VR? With some passthrough tools might make this pretty amazing. I understand the buttons would work but am interested in the MFD visuals.
Yes, all the MFD are universally the same. You used the software to set them up in position and identify them in your windows display settings first. Then in the WW software, you can designate which ones and MFD or DDI or AMPCD. Depending on the aircraft, you automatically get color or you get monochrome display. If you just needed to for like the F-16, they both will be set up as left and right MFD/DDI
Some day I'll get the MIP. Right now I'm using a touch screen monitor and Helios with the Cougar mfds to replicate the cockpit. I also like that you showed that the MIP can be used for other aircraft. I was wondering how that would work since its Hornet focused.
I have two MFD for DCS F-16, like you have and I noticed you are able to push buttons on both MFDs. But I am able to use only one MFD buttons, where as when I fly the A-10C I am able to use both MFDs, any suggestions would really help me.
Did you happen to catch John Self's video? Sounds like you have to set up the screens then ID, which screen is which and then assign them. Watch all of this, but the good stuff starts at about five minutes in, but I would watch the whole video. ruclips.net/video/wRqMKoABCPQ/видео.htmlsi=jpZ1797DKYMbYqRD
STEW, message me on Discord and thanks for volunteering! We'll get together with my video call on Discord and I'll have you write down all the parts and dimensions and we'll put it out there on AWG community user files at www.digitalcombatsimulator.com for others to download. Cheers! juice_awg
I'm not sure of the complete set but it's a mix of 4040 and 4080 T-Slot. If you order all the compatible parts and hardware, you should be fine with anything you build. This one seems pretty universal and was provided by WW as one of our sponsors.
@AIRWARFAREGROUP just so I'm clear on what you mention. If I'm flying the Hornet and using the MIP then switch to another module, I need to: - back out of dcs completely - select new module in simapp pro - start dcs backup again and select the new module Did I understand you correctly sir?
If you're flying the same aircraft you last selected in SimAppPro, then no. The utility only saves the last MFD selection. You cannot change SimAppPro configuration with DCS running. Our WW contacts are aware of the limitations and looking into it. It's only relevant if you have working MFD screens. We're also working on DCS developers to change the video output to the MFDs in High Dynamic Range (HDR) for the brightness issue.
Thanks for the genuine question...there are hundreds of issues with DCS and associated programs or equipment. Those problems prove that we are pushing the boundaries in virtual combat simulations and further reinforces my thoughts on DCS...its' not just a video game. If it were only a game, it would be polished, well-oiled, and operate flawlessly start to finish. I would not like life it were easy!
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP agreed, there some things that I wish DCS has implemented, but willing to bet some of my "wish list" items are in the works or they're not worth doing.
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP are you already using reshade ? If so I can show you how to easely set up a profile juste for that. Takes 3min. Allows to have matching mfds especially when you dim them at night
Hey, thanks for the offer, maybe this fall when I'm back at my computer. For now I'm working on summer projects and enjoying the weather outside. Hope you're safe and well and enjoying nature like I am.

Every single time I load into DCS I have to hit save and update my MFD’s. Really annoying. Might be a windows 10 thing. Not sure. Otherwise I love my MIP.
Is it resetting them to landscape? So, I found out that you have to set up the portrait mode and then restart the PC before opening up win-win software. And if you change aircraft from the last one you flew in DCS yes you have to go into the SIM app pro software and select a new aircraft and then click on the red area below, and it will automatically fix watch if you've set it up correctly
@@AIRWARFAREGROUP No, it stays in portrait. Yeah I was talking about even when I boot up and fly the same aircraft I still have to hit the red box to “save” the display settings for whatever aircraft I’m flying. Seems kinda weird.
I do notice that before I launch DCS, I have to open SimAppPro and it automatically greens up the red in a second or two. Then minimize that program. If I close it [X] it won't work.
💡 I just had a lightbulb moment. Check in your control panel to see if you have multiple versions of the SimAppPro software installed. I had two at the same time which was causing a problem like yours. I talked to Max at WW about the utility, which is broken and he said that I needed to uninstall the software and reinstall the most recent one from the website. Once I did that, about a week later there was an update and it automatically updated just fine without duplicating. Let me know if you found two installations on your software. Doing this did not erase my settings.
Sorry! Save time, just send me your credit card...oh, I need the PIN! JK, we've been friends over 10 years I just realized! Come to Rhode Island next year for FS EXPO 2025 Bob!
I use the VR version and it’s pretty easy. You can put them pretty much where they appear in game and you can just reach out and touch them in the space where they are. It works very well
Definitely play what makes you happy 👍 My timeout game is DayZ PvP Namalsk and when I take a break from the PC life, it's backpacking around the Pacific Northwest or traveling to Aviation Museums.

Guys with VR can use it but the screens aren't needed if you can't look at them. MR would be great.
Hey Juice - this is just awesome. I’d like to chat with you about how to make these things work best in VR
Tell me more...I'm good on my end, I don't use VR and I wouldn't be a help if you are looking for assistance with it.

There is a way to adjust the intensity of the hornet mpcds using a reshape profile
