I love this kit for the most part, I could even live with the trim stickers. But what I absolutely hate is the lack of a proper arm brace to attach the shield to the arm. I hate relying on using the handle and the hands to attach it. It just doesn’t feel secure enough for my liking and I generally would like the option of the left hand being free for dual beam sabres while still having the shield mounted
Someone supposedly attempted to equip both the HGCE handle and old HG arm brace on the HGCE shield, but they said the parts aren't compatible probably because of the difference in the peg size for the bracket. But it wouldn't hurt to try in practice, even if it's not the most solid thing in the world.
But, the white v vine part is gone! So, i replace it with a paper and the red part with kit part and i attach it with super glue. I don't what else to do😢
I just retrieved my copy of this from my parents' house recently. Built it in 2015 and it's aged pretty well for an HG with polycaps. The only slightly loose joints are the hip polycaps and one of the wing cannon joints. I will say, the Rising Freedom does still feel nicer to handle than this, especially the wings. However, this is much better than my RG Freedom built in like 2012, which now refuses to stay attached at the torso. That thing shall stay in storage.
I'd beg to differ with this vs Rising Freedom, as the loose backpack and cannon swivels manifested when I was done with the review, which is a lot of wear from not a lot of time. The kit in the verdict is my old copy just touched up, and minus the loose individual wings from years of display and play, it still held up extraordinarily well. One thing is for sure though, this is miles better than the standard RG.
Bruh my RG strike freedom was just built and I can't pose it without the bicep parts popping off 😂 I just bought the Mighty Strike Freedom and am planning to get the MGEX once I'm more experienced. Was a terrible rg to start my gundam journey, the rg nu is far superior and such a fun build. Do u have any rg recommendations? Looking for things as good as the nu and hi nu.

That's utterly ridiculous. It's not an issue that's solved today either, with open side skirt storage. Mighty Strike Freedom is a very example of why it wouldn't work practically in Gunpla, unless something like the rail in the RG GCP Freedom is implemented
HGCE Freedom is great, except for the head face vent design, the comparison at the beginning makes me like the GCP or the Robot Spirits version more than this one/RG.

I always loved the design of the OG Freedom. In fact, it's my 2nd favorite Gundam. It's a very solid MS in looks, function and has some great moments in the anime, especially when it arrived at Alaska. The future ones feel like they deviate away from design and aesthetics more then I wished.
At least it's the most grounded of the Freedoms if you know what I mean, despite some arguing that its existence is when SEED proper turned for the worse
the polycaps that connected the hip ball joints to the waist ripped and now it couldnt stand or pose. be mindful when posing. must have been my bad luck because all the others with Polycaps didnt have this issue.
If you mean those by the socket, just a bit of plastic cement and sanding would do. If you're referring to the forearms, the seam line is made to look like the molded detail, so no need to touch that up
Even though this kit has flaws, i honestly still like this kit. And I’m going to be really honest with you, i’d rather have this kit than the RG Freedom

My problem is not about reviewing variants, but the exact same base design. Sure, you can throw me 100 variants of the Freedom design, but at least they'd have some difference to the base. This demonstrates why I wouldn't get different kits of the same design twice
I think we might be able to steal that from the Strike Freedom. Or well, one of the Perfect variants of it due to them having a gray frame. The HGCE Freedom did age well, NGL, way better than the RG
This was the first kit I tried my hand on painting with Gundam Markers, and let me tell you, it was hell, with the black for the light-reflective eyes and putting a layer of white as surfacer for darker colors so the brighter colors can stick, but the end result was worth not using most of the stickers for
It do be like that with beginner's experience. At least it was worthwhile to learn the dos and don'ts of painting Gunpla so that it won't be as hellish to go through next time around.

Jeez the freedom has a whole bunch of model kits alongside the grand daddy gundam. It's insane and one piece of trivia that I didn't know about until over the weekend from my friend is apparently the main mecha designer who designed the freedom is the same guy who desgined other mecha that has over the top designs like the Brave series super robots, Gravion and even the Shining and God gundams. I just thought that was interesting to know since we're on a weird seed kick at the moment but it is nice that even this old dog can still be a good model kit despite the fact that we have like many many other versions of it now. Great job as always!

That's where responsibility and finesse come in. Posing the wings too much as if it's an action figure will cause them to wear out quick

I still question why there is not an adaptor to connect that shield to the Freedom's arm.
My guess is them wanting to pull a pseudo RG with the moving elbows, but that has compromised compatibility for any arm-mounted weapons

This vs the RG GCP is up to personal tastes, but I absolutely agree that this is better than the standard RG in spite of its flaws.

Check your poly caps. Tighten with superglue or matte topcoat if necessary
Check as well if they are now broke

That would be Kunio Okawara. He’s *the* OG mecha designer and was also the main designer for the original Gundam series.
