  • Check out the affordable wood shed I built for my firewood stacks, all under $350, using salvaged scrap steel and sheet metal. No-frills, just a solid homestead building and chainsaw storage and axe storage room. It keeps my firewood and tools all together and dry from the weather. Watch as I walk around and show my robust firewood storage solution that didn’t break the bank. Whether you're a DIY firewood cutter, homesteader, or farmer this firewood shed should work for you. Thanks for watching my budget-friendly DIY woodshed tour. #DIYWoodshed #BudgetOutBuildings #Welding #EasyHomesteadProjects #FirewoodStorage #DIYOnABudget

    Mr. Derek…
    Question for you.
I’ll be retiring in about a year and I need to purchase a welding machine. I don’t know how to weld, but upon retiring, I’m going to take a course at a local Jr. College to learn. The type projects I’ll need to complete upon learning how to weld are much like yours on this channel… very much homestead/farm/hunting camp type projects.
The tricky part is… I’ve got the money now to purchase a welding machine (but don’t have any knowledge). Upon retiring and taking my welding courses, I’ll then have the knowledge, but might not have the funds at that time. I know it’s sorta putting the cart before the horse, but what welding machine would you suggest for the type of projects you’ve shown on your channel?… making your shipping container workshop, repairing farm equipment, building your firewood shed like in this video..

It just really depends on what you want.
Basic machine to do basic tasks: Lincoln Electric’s newer suitcase machines or the Titanium Flux 125 or the Forney 140FC I believe would all be great options. I would pick any one of those up. Decide which is best for you.
Want more options to have a variety of process to do when welding: the Titanium Unlimited 140 has been awesome. I would buy it unless I could get a Forney 140MP for cheap. But it would have to be way cheaper than the Titanium to justify getting that one for me.
Big machine that runs on 220v and should do basically everything for you:
YesWelder stuff is really pretty good. Honestly. I have the YesWelder 205 DS and that is a pretty good machine in the little I’ve used it. I would basically just suggest looking at what you think you will be doing with a welder and see which machines will match those uses and then find the one that offers the best value for the money.
