I transfered to UC Berkeley from community college as a regents' and chancellor's scholar ("top 2%" of applicants to Berkeley). I dropped out my sophomore year of high school. If you don't get into a "top tier" UC, definitely consider community college! The acceptance rate is higher for transferring to UC's as a transfer student! Many of my friends from CC transferred to UCLA, UCSD, Columbia, Brown, and Stanford.
Same! I didn't drop out of high school but I graduated with a 3.0 gpa which is fine...but not anywhere near good enough for UCLA. So glad I went to a CC because now I go to UCLA!
Brooke thanks in part to all of your helpful advice and expertise I got into many of my schools !! (Ivies, NU, Stanford) Thank you so much for everything😃 Keep being awesome and inspiring and helping teenagers fulfill their college dreams🥰
@@tmln4227 more seriously: explore your interests and focus on doing something original (research, science projects, coding initiatives, startups) rather than just joining typical clubs. This is probably the best path for most students to stand out.
Hello! Sorry for the unrelated note but commenting on this video has the highest likelihood of you seeing and answering: is burnout seen as a viable route to explaining hardships for common app essay prompt or is it overdone?
Also I think it depends on which high school you come from because I’m from a public school in Washington and you literally can’t take 13APs unless you take classes outside of school like online a classes or something and no one does that
Are you joking? 150000 applications. You must be really strong academically and really lucky that your application somehow caught the attention of the admissions office.
