Don't tell yourself that. As someone with almost 30 years of living experience, unless you have abusive parents (emotional abuse counts btw), your family doesn't think that about you. No one actually thinks that about you unless you're a legit loser who has no ambition to improve in life. THAT'S a failure. 99% of you (including Jasmine) are too young to even be failures at life lmao! However, it's good that you acknowledge that you can improve as a person. We ALL can. But self-improvement doesn't start with self-hate. Acknowledge your problem areas, then actively try to work on them. No one asks you to be perfect, because it's not real. All we ask is for you to try your best in what you do, and to attempt to better yourself as a person. That's literally it. Don't make it harder than it has to be. Take it from someone who's been there, done that, for 29 years.

do colleges really care about AP classes? Like my school doesn’t really let us choose what AP classes we get, we just get chosen based on recommendation and if we are eligible, academically, to be part of that class. But I already have very high grades, so what that make up for it??
The main purpose of taking AP classes is so you can pass your AP exam to not have to take the class again when you're in college and waste money and time.
i think ap classes are more a financial situation. they help save many by having you take the college class in high school to earn college credits and to help you save time and money. i could be wrong but i personally think it looks better to have very high grades in a regular course rather than low or medium grades in an ap course.

hey I noticed you took psychology + sociology as a college course. does that mean you took it as dual enrollment? if so, could you possibly make a video about dual enrollment and the maybe what classes you suggest for seniors to take because I am thinking of doing that. also does that mean you were able to leave campus early since you had only 5 classes?
hey! i've taken dual enrollment classes for literally all of high school. i live in texas, but i'm sure this translates to every state. these credits almost always transfer to colleges INSIDE of your state and almost never transfer to colleges outside. for example in my case, NYU wouldn't accept my credits. however, what i did was take these dual classes and also challenge the AP test at the end of the year since my school offered that option. i would honestly recommend taking these classes because in my experience they were way easier than AP classes and taught pretty much the same material. leaving campus early depends on your school. again in my case, my schedule consists of 8 classes plus lunch, and since i already have most of the credits i need to graduate, i could leave early if i got a job! i hope i was able to help :)
So I’m taking a few dual credit classes and I live in Texas. Dual credit transfers to most schools in Texas and maybe out of state (you’ll have to check out of state schools to check if they’ll take it). If you stay in state I would recommend taking as many dual credit classes as possible that way you can get some college classes out of the way, like for me I’m taking DC for college algebra, English, and government and economics. Leaving school early depends on your school but most likely seniors get off campus, but you’ll have to be careful with scheduling your DC classes.
@@sparkle0859 dual classes are taught by college professors. they want you to succeed and will work with you if you demonstrate interest. it depends with professors obviously, but my professors were much more chill than AP teachers. my guess is that AP teachers have a set curriculum made by a national organization that they HAVE to stick to, whereas college professors are more flexible with everything. i really hope i was able to answer your question!

Woah. What a coincidence, I just finished watching Conan's video and came here through recommendations (I'm already a subscriber of yours) and now you just mentioned him. ❤️
Congratulations, Jasmine! Such an authentic video, a great guide for others. I've used your videos and advice in buying a kit of materials for my niece as a middle school graduation present as she goes into HS, and she's just yesterday got accepted to a business-oriented HS. (And that includes your book, which I highly recommend!!!!!!!!) TBH, the main thought that I couldn't get away from as this video developed, is how you possibly could have been rejected by any college/university, no matter what their process or standards was. I was also curious if, besides showing samples of your calligraphy/bullet journaling, if you actually did any of the application using your calligraphy/lettering as opposed to typing it up. Blessings and best of luck to you at UCLA and beyond. So great that you are using your channel as a way to help others!
i think it is soo awesome that you can pick your classes. Like i just have art, have biology, have math, have germany and have science. I cant pick those, i just go to classical 15 gymnazium subjects we all have
It’s always interesting to see how big students schools are and the opportunities they’ve had. I laugh because my graduating class this year will be 28 kids. And my High School has less than 300 kids in it total. I hope colleges take this into consideration, I worry they won’t though.
Congratulations!! Love the transparency. I think it was natural for me to be curious (I was anticipating on when you'd do this.) I didn't expect you'd need so much writing really. In my place, all you need is money, good grades and will to study. 😂😂 I was wondering if could you give tips about creative writing? -from a 10th grader who wants to pull up their grades (writing is dragging my grades down like it's a concern my teachers and I share) Thank you! Congrats again!
coming from a small town, nebraska applicant, i couldn’t even finish my applications for UC 😂 i just found it really confusing. honestly though, you are so amazing and i hope you have a great time at UCLA! 🥰
Fun Fact : Here in India, you don't really need to write college applications and don't have to tell about yourself to get into a college because; Unfortunately, Indian Colleges only focus on grades like the entrance exam score and mark sheets of grade 10th and 12 exams, But I guess that's less hard work in a way 😀
i’m gonna take your tips and hope i get straight A’s in freshman year bc all this time ive been relying on my natural born skill as well as the lack of difficult work in my school to get my straights A’s so far
At my school which is in a small town in Alaska, a senior got accepted into Yale… He was also the co valedictorian with another very successful student. It’s crazy how the world works. I can’t wait to see where he foes. I only wish I could be that successful.

You are so helpful my life is sooo unorganized rn and you help organize it
doing a studyquill binge to motivate myself
I love her new setup omg 😆
Oh my gosh I’ve been waiting for this!! Never been so early before. Luv your vids Jasmine!
This was actually such an awesome video! It set me at ease on so many levels.
I love watching you talk!
I live in Australia, so I feel like I understand a lot of what your saying only because I just watched the last "To all the boy's I loved before"
Thanks Peter Kavinsky 😂
Ah! This is the first time I've actually been here for a video since I subscribed and I love it!
Congrats!! Best wishes at UCLA and congrats on graduating!! Probably for a very small audience but the UC top 9% applies to all California schools (not just public).
NICE VID 👍! Another great video from jasmine 🙂🥰😜
Omg it’s my birthday today I got this video as a gift from you!!
happy birthday!!!
Whoa impressive to see everything they take in count !
Félicitations 👏
thanks for the info!
I'm applying this year and your videos have been insightful and helpful!
Have a great time at UCLA
This helps a lot, thank you @studyquill for this video i love u so much!!!

i think it is soo awesome that you can pick your classes. Like i just have art, have biology, have math, have germany and have science. I cant pick those, i just go to classical 15 gymnazium subjects we all have
U lay out your videos so well I love it

It’s always interesting to see how big students schools are and the opportunities they’ve had. I laugh because my graduating class this year will be 28 kids. And my High School has less than 300 kids in it total. I hope colleges take this into consideration, I worry they won’t though.
Love uuuu, your study tips have been so extremely helpful and also love your aesthetic 💖
Congratulations!! Love the transparency. I think it was natural for me to be curious (I was anticipating on when you'd do this.) I didn't expect you'd need so much writing really. In my place, all you need is money, good grades and will to study. 😂😂
I was wondering if could you give tips about creative writing? -from a 10th grader who wants to pull up their grades (writing is dragging my grades down like it's a concern my teachers and I share)
Thank you! Congrats again!
coming from a small town, nebraska applicant, i couldn’t even finish my applications for UC 😂 i just found it really confusing. honestly though, you are so amazing and i hope you have a great time at UCLA! 🥰
Omg ! I’m first to comment ! Yay! Love your videos !😇😊☺️
Congrats to get into UCLA and thanks a lot for your tips ! Helps a lot!
Fun Fact :
Here in India, you don't really need to write college applications and don't have to tell about yourself to get into a college because; Unfortunately, Indian Colleges only focus on grades like the entrance exam score and mark sheets of grade 10th and 12 exams, But I guess that's less hard work in a way 😀
The bestttt videos!!!!!!
i’m gonna take your tips and hope i get straight A’s in freshman year bc all this time ive been relying on my natural born skill as well as the lack of difficult work in my school to get my straights A’s so far
Thank u for sharing ur tips :D ur channel helps me get prepared for what’s to come. 💗😊
At my school which is in a small town in Alaska, a senior got accepted into Yale… He was also the co valedictorian with another very successful student. It’s crazy how the world works. I can’t wait to see where he foes. I only wish I could be that successful.
Ahhh I just found your channel and I want to welcome you to UCLA!!!
Congrats on UCLA! I’m also an incoming freshman so see you on campus 🥰
