He was speaking of Henry on Colbert so I had to see what I could find of Henry Taylor on utube. You are so right - when he speaks of Henry you can just hear how proud he is of Henry and his talent. Hope to see more from Henry in future.
I wish he had the same pride in his amazingly talented son Ben, the son he abandoned when he was a junkie and who was raised by his first wife, Carly Simon.
No he does not. Ben Taylor is his spitting image -- and sounds much more like him, too. But James loathes Ben's mother, so . . . JT is despicable, as far as I'm concerned.

I’d say this is pretty much a full circle moment for us JT junkies! I’ve lost count the number of times my best friend and I have seen JT. My two sons, now men, grew up listening to their mom serenade them acapella at nap or bedtime. Even thru Henry’s nervousness, the admiration and love for his father seemed present. I just love the two of them together. Thanks to whomever uploaded this.
I've seen JT three times in an amphitheater arena, and have loved hearing him always; this one brought tears to my eyes. Go, Henry, carry on, carry on!
I met my husband at the tender age of 13 & he was 14 yrs. old. Everyone would try and separate us. Parents, school, siblings, friends, church friends, even the state ( we were "too young"). I would sit with his head in my lap and I would sing this song to him. We longed to be together and he could "stay as long as he liked". We married at 16 yrs old, and we are still deeply in love. He can now, and forever stay as long as he likes! This was a precious thing to watch and see the love of a parent and child. Brings back many sweet memories to this old woman of 65! Thank you for the post. A real treat in many ways!
Played this for my Mom as she was dying from Dementia......even put it on her Zoom funeral at the end as a tribute. Needless to say, got rather choked up when I saw this in ATL last Tuesday.
I had bought an album of lullabyes for my baby son. The artist was a female folk singer, but I fell in love with song and saw that it was written by James Taylor. I sang this to my son many times over 20 years ago. What an amazing moment when James and Henry closed the concert out with this song a few nights ago. I felt the moment was for me.
This is my absolute favorite James Taylor tune & gave me goose bumps seeing him sing it with his son Henry. I’m a major fan & have been listening & following James since my 1st concert at age 12.
oh my, beautiful! I remember when Henry and his brother Rufus were born....JT came to Chapel Hill in 2003 and for a ceremony in his honor and mentioned his twin boys then....amazing to see this in 2021!
Saw this exact final song last night at their concert in Greensboro. Brought me to tears…it was emotionally overwhelming. “You can sing this song…when I’m gone.” 😢😞
I'm a huge James Taylor fan seeing him live 4 or 5 times but to see his son Henry on the stage is awesome ! FIRE & RAIN will always be my #1 Favorite song with JT and it forever remain !!
Oh JT and Henry! My heart is overflowing hearing your duet of this favorite, beautiful song. Father and son~how sweet it is. The sound of your guitars and voices together just about does me in. I hope, hope, hope you might do this at Tanglewood next 4th of July (we've been waiting a year and a half to be there for the annual 4th of July concert!!)
They are both so proud of each other and the relationship they have. So very cool. If they never set foot on another stage again, they would still have this very special bond as father and son.
Same amazing sound we enjoyed last Saturday night in NOLA! James and Henry are just incredible as a duo. I’ve listened to James since the late ‘60’s or very early ‘70’s - he’s my all-time favorite musician, and I’m delighted that Henry has joined his dad in so many gigs. Looking forward to many more concerts and recordings. 💞

i’d have to disagree. Ben looks far more like James, they’re almost a carbon copy of the same person. Ben also sounds exactly like his father. Henry has a nice voice but he doesn’t have the voice that Benjamin and James have

Fantastic!! Love seeing it come full circle as it did with Ben. Henry sounds so much like his dad, yet has his own style as well. Especially on electric guitar. Thanks for sharing this. Great video!!
Ben and his dad did a side by side tour one year. Unlike how Jackson Browne opens and JT does his own set and they duet at the end of each one this one started out just James Taylor and then Ben joined him and they did songs by both (JT & Ben songs) over two sets.
And here is the new generation of fantastic JT music!! Does Henry have any aspirations of following in his father’s footsteps?? Sure would be a wonderful thing!! Love you guys!!

The person that Henry REALLY makes look small is Dorian Holley. Take a look at the bows from one of the shows where You've Got a Friend finished the show. The way they arrange the formation is all males on one side: Henry between the other two, JT in the middle, women + Jackson Browne on the other side.
James looks so proud of his handsome son. Almost as if he is looking at himself from a different place. How beautiful to experience!
