Great to see you back. Make the most of those tots before they become teenagers! Ancnoc 18 and Tomatin 18 are my price to quality winners although living in Germany we do have better prices than the UK 🙄 oh and the Aultmore 18 is a cracking whisky if you can get it!

My Laphroaig 10 is the same super low but it was also the whisky that got me into scotch mostly after dabbling in Bourbon and Irish and Japanese whisky I found I enjoyed scotch the most and the collection is growing much to the dismay of the mrs haha...

The king of the cheaper line for me now is Old Perth Sherry - Cask Streght - young and blend - but I think it's a very good price/value. The Limited PX is also great (Arran 18 colors), although the price/value ratio is rather good. Keep it up, good collection, enjoyable channel.

@@FirstPhilWhisky No actually. Have only tried the Port Charlotte 10 but and came across the MC:01 2009, OLC and PAC:01 2011, which my friend recommended the PAC01. So now I am trying to find one but they are really expensive.
Other recommendations he has are the Springbank 12 CS, Benriach the Smoky 12, Highland park 18, Mortlach 2010 ED.
I actually have the Laphroiag 10 CS 2013 and am considering getting a Laphroiag Lore
The Benriach Smoky 12 is nice - but mainly for people who like smoke-dominant peated malt. It’s sweetness balances that smoke profile, but I personally prefer the more oily/menthol peat of something like Port Charlotte 10.

If the American malt whiskey industry takes off, there won’t be any decent ex-bourbon casks to age scotch in.
No necessarily, most American malts are aged in new charred oak initially
