Someone please tell me the fastest way to pull videos off of my iPhone and onto my Windows 10 PC that doesn't involve an annual subscription.

Google, samsung, oneplus, and a few others still do this on their base models.

yes, but how many base iPhone users really use the port? nobody I know does. the users who will actually make use of it are likely buying the Pro anyways, and those who occasionally use it probably don't transfer tons of data. Most are probably using iCloud/AirDrop/Google Photos/wifi backup.
it's a little annoying but not nearly as bad as people think

yeah people who care about transfer speeds would likely already be looking at the pro

If you go base iPhone you also get the same base charging speed as well, which is garbage. But I guess that's what iPhone users are used to. They have never experienced fast charging before so don't know what they are missing

Bit of a chicken or egg problem considering that apple made it inconvenient to use the port on purpose, so naturally no one does it now.

Small correction, while I do agree it is absurd for the base model to have usb 2.0 speeds, the Pro Models and Pro Max do actually have USB 3.0 10gbps. Can see the specs on the site for those models

That’s the craziest part to me. The Pro models having it means they already developed the tech for it but purposely withheld it for the Pro model. Meanwhile, as LTT pointed out, Samsung has had USB 3 since 2013.
If anything, they could have given the regular models 5gbps and given the Pros 10gbps. Even better would have been 10gbps for the regular and 20gbps for the Pro, but I guess that’s just wishful thinking

@@SomethingAzn sort of, the new pro models have the a17 bionic which has a portion of the CPU dedicated to USB 3.0, while the base model is still on the a16 bionic, which unfortunately only has USB 2.0 on the die. Likely trying to get rid of the older A16 chips and unfortunately, the consumer loses

imagine buying the Pro Max only to realize they include a USB 2.0 cable in the box... absolute joke of a company.

    • @C0fff
      @C0fff 10 месяцев назад

@@DJJunglemunky haha, I know there is a C to C cable included, but no charger. Fine I guess if you already have an iPad or Mac with usbC, but most people I know only have an iPhone, which means they will probably shell put extra to order a C charger directly from Apple too

@@SomethingAznit's because the base 15 is basically a repackaged 14 Pro, which was USB 2. All they needed to do was change the connector.

It’s so they have something else to upgrade next year.

No one, especially those eith a base model iphone, plugs their phone in to transfer data anymore. The phone would not be functionally different in the real world even if it had USB4, it would only look a bit nicer on the spec sheet

Honestly I don't care about the speed of transfers I'll have the pro max anyways witch is faster that the s23Ultra and non of my kids will transfer anything because I am getting them the 15 and besides it's how long the phone will last in real time that we care about. So yeah.

So the first issue was No USB C now the problem is iPhone 15 (not the Pro) has USB C but does not have the right speed? Does any normal person using an iPhone care about USB 2.0 vs USB 3.0? really? If you want to shoot better video you buy the Pro Max and you want to offload that video you have 3.0 available to you as well

Really the iPhone 15 is a repackage of the iPhone 14 pro without the third camera. The silicon is largely already manufactured so therefore the adjustment to USB-C is simply a part swap to a nearly identical board from 2021. The iPhone 15 Pro is new silicon and design, so naturally they took the opportunity to increase the comm bus. Apple has to product a massive number of both devices, so it makes perfect sense to get as much mileage out of the 2021 tech as possible. Re-tooling would involve a LOT of locations and factories, and for what? Grandma to download her photos at USB-3 speeds? Apple is being practical while you are not. Lastly, the base iPhone 15 is way cheaper. Up-selling is how Apple makes its quarterly numbers. Normal stuff. Next year I suppose both models will have USB-3 comm buses.

Also knowing Apple they will optimise it so it might transfer faster than normally because hey it's Apple.
