I have this lens with a Canon 80D. I must say after using it for many months it displays none of the problems you have had. My 18 to 400 is sharp over the full zoom range and decent in low light. It's also fairly rugged. Mine is frequently on my camera in a handlebar bag on my bicycle. In spite of bouncing around it has never failed. Edge to edge sharpness is good with no softness at the edges. Very happy with it.
@@annepetry2340 You should be happy with it. You will find the zoom somewhat stiff partway through the range. That is normal. What camera body do you have? It takes some experience to get the AF right, but it is fast and accurate.
@@d53101 I shoot with Canon's EOS M5 (with adapter for the EF lenses). We have a trip to Alaska coming up and it seemed this would be a great travel lens.
after months of searching for the best camera and lens for amateurs like me i opted for the canon 90d and this tamron lens. yesterday i finally got my hands on both. i really like your review because you are contacting us amateurs who may want something a little more but not at the price required for most canon and similar lenses. what you state as your interests - nature and wildlife, are also mine ... i hope the choice is good and i look forward to expanding my already fairly large collection of images of flora and fauna! thank you!

Hey, I'm thinking about grabbing this lens for a d500 as a lighter alternative to my 200 500 for wildlife photography. What's your opinion on this combination? Does it work well on the D500?

I use it with a Canon 80D and 90D. Yes it is stiff part way through the zoom range. Annoying.

Nice video. I use this on my D500 and it is useful as a travel lens. I have the Nikon 28-300 for FF and that is a good lens also.

I have canon 1500d camera. Can I used this lense?
The Canon version of the lens has a EF-S mount, as far as I can tell so does your camera.
