You know, after the day I've had, I can't tell you how much I needed this. Interestingly, for once we actually had very similar interpretations on how an orchestrated version of these 2 tracks would sound! In a way, a pseudo-orchestral genre fits his personality more than what we got in the original game. You can really feel the sense of arrogance in it, with how the track desperately seeks to come across as refined, but the more comedic undertones betray his actual nature. Very few composers can pull off those kinds of subtleties in the tone, and it's great to hear.
I don't know... I somehow don't really feel much arrogance, but more the desperate side with Berdly's Theme sounding rather tragic (both in the original and this accordion rendition). The battle theme tries to upgrade it into a cool song, but it obviously is unable to get rid of the tragic undertones the original theme carries with it. But it is a very impressive song because of that.

The first descending phrases sound like a series of calls, loudly announcing to the point of tiring himself out as it descends, while the waltzing rhythm underneath marches on with a moment of "eep, that didn't quite work" at the end of each phrase. And ending its stanza (I'm unfamiliar with music terms, hopefully that's the right word) with a single self-soothing phrase that feels like "I'll just keep trying and it'll work out, because I'm too cool and smart to truly fail!" And then the second stanza drops low and jumps high with all the mental gymnastics he's doing to convince himself this is fine, yet the walking bassline sounds like it's tiptoeing anxiously, with the occasional high note of alarm... and ends with this phrase I can only describe as a dramatic sigh of "being gamer truly is to be misunderstood and rejected"

Berdly was a really enjoyable part of Chapter 2 for me, I adored seeing his character arc throughout the Chapter, so seeing this makes me happy I absolutely love your rendition of Berdly, it has an elegant nature while still having a subtle goofy tone, and I think that's quite fitting for Berdly's character And your Smart Race arrangement is absolutely wonderful as well, very amazing stuff

God, this is everything I've ever wanted and more. Your interpretations of these tracks are always distinctive, interesting, and cohesive. I particularly love how seamless the transition from the main theme to Smart Race was. With everyone and their mother covering either Big Shot or Attack of the Killer Queen (mostly Big Shot, let's be honest), this is really such a nice breath of fresh air, especially for a Berdly Enjoyer like myself. Absolutely top-notch work, as always.

Alright so at first when I first saw Berdly I thought "oh wow another bird with superiority complex, very cool and original". But after a while, damn it he made me laugh. He isn't like Falco or Revali in the way that they hate the main character because they're better than them, but for Berdly, he adores the one person better than them, and anytime he hates on Kris, it's only because Kris is hurting Noelle. Not to mention that he's a big meme
Maybe adore is a bit of a stretch, remember his only reason for working with Queen to make a new Dark World is so he can create some place where she can permanently tag along with him, allowing him to keep his façade of intellectual superiority while still have Noelle support him as "the number 2". His motives for caring about Noelle are for the most part selfish. That being said a part of him really does appreciate her as a real friend and seems cares for her well-being out of true empathy and kindness (this is showcased best in the Snowgrave route where he notices almost instantly how our influence is hurting Noelle both figuratively and literally, so he decides right then and there to rescue her from our grasp).

hands down this is the most creative and dynamic orchestra cover of anything from undertale or deltarune that i've ever heard! it fills out the theme in a way that makes sense for a full orchestra, but stays close enough to the original idea that it doesn't alienate the fact that it was originally a video game battle theme either. it just feels right!

Whoa, dang, that accordion hits in all the right ways, and the instrument choice is excellent. Especially liking the part at 3:50 that reminds us directly that Queen is still the one in control.
I got so excited when I saw this upload in my subscriptions-Berdly's theme and Smart Race are my absolute FAVORITE tracks in chapter 2, and as soon as I saw you'd orchestrated it I knew it was going to be the best one by far. Trust me: I've listened to every other rendition on this site that I could find. There have definitely been some great versions, but this one left them all behind. The slow build of Berdly's theme in the beginning was delightful: it felt very pompous and arrogant and you could definitely hear the Queen influence. The transition into Smart Race was SUPERB, and I'm so glad you stuck with the fast-pace tempo because it wonderfully captures Berdly's manic energy that other renditions don't quite get right. This orchestration was AMAZING and brought a huge grin to my face. 😁
You know, even if it doesn't make sense, due to it being "orchestral," if you do end up arranging "Big Shot" and/oror Spamton's theme, you should still opt to add some sort of classic/orch rock segment or maybe a synth-orch, as it would tie into how glitchy the guy is. But that's just my opinion.

Technically, parts of the Smart Race are remixed, since the leitmotifs in it are also present in Attack of the Killer Queen.
