East Broad Top Railroad: Steaming into the 2023 Season

- On May 7, 2023, I rode and captured video of the first weekend of the 2023 season at the East Broad Top Railroad, with steam returning for the first time since 2011. I never visited during the Kovalchick era, so to see the EBT back and better than ever is truly spectacular. The trains are currently pulled by EBT #16, one of six remaining original locomotives on the roster and is the first one to have been made operational again. Thanks for watching and enjoy!

to think this railroad is coming back! Can't wait to see the rest of the Mikados under steam again. By the way, what is progress looking like for #17?
The current order is 15, 14, 12, 17, 18. 17 and 12 are set to go in the shop when 15 and 14 are running most likely by the end of 2024 they will both be in the shop but that’s being optimistic. 15 possibly will be running by October.

Current restoration efforts have been stated to be 15 then 14. Beyond that, nothing has been official to which the order of the last three will be.
