- Опубликовано: 11 июл 2024
- In this video we're listening to another one from The Style Council. Paul Weller's projects are all great works, from The Jam, to this band, to his solo work. We just can't get enough. Let's see what this one is all about. Enjoy!

I fell in love for the first time at 19 when this came out. It was a long, hot summer too. Captures the ecstacy and agony all at once.
I remember well the change from The Jam to the Style Council was wild at the time 😁
My ever changing moods is a great song by them,
Paul Weller=musical genius! i still have some original albums of The Style Council!
Wowwhat a great song! 💙
This song takes me back to my mid teens, carefree times ❤ I took my copy of this record to a party and never saw it again 😭
Paul Weller showing how diverse his music is. 😊
In the U.K. growing up in the '60s and '70s we were exposed to a lot of Soul music, with this band he took things in that direction a bit. Other tracks by them I recommend are:
"You're the Best Thing",
"My Ever Changing Moods",
"Have You Ever Had it Blue",
"Walls Come Tumbling Down!".
There are many more but these are good ones to continue with.
speak like a child
Weller's voice matured nicely over the years. I've got the 12" single of this, just need the weather now, I don't think they did the long wet summer! Cheers.
Love the Jam ! Style Council !!!!! Pants
The original version is the best
Another Style Council track to try is 'Come To Milton Keynes', more perhaps for the video than the song itself.
The whole Cafe Bleu album - which this track was on - is brilliant!
I don't know what country your from but in the UK The Long Hot Summer was on a Mini LP Called Introducing the Style Council it was never on Cafe Bleu.
It was a non album single in the UK, I've got the 12" vinyl single. I agree that Cafe Bleu is great, a real change in direction for Weller after the Jam.
@@cyclops60 Your right, of course. My mistake!
@@rogerbillings5081 No worries, sorry for being such a pedant lol!
This song was inducted as a “perfect pop” song by a podcast I hear regularly, just a couple of days ago.
Me: I have mixed feelings.
Pro: I love the groove.
Con: the synthetic handclaps (less apparent in this version) do make my eye twitch
Thank you once again, hope to see you get to 10k soon.
I’ve never heard this version. I prefer the original version
Loved The Jam but couldn’t get away with the Style council.
Think gotta be time for another Slade reaction….Rock and Roll Preacher is a real rock out but if do make sure you get the live….ish performance showing Noddy with dog collar bellowing out the Dearly Beloved lines
I could be wrong? Maybe? Couldn't say for sure yeah nah buggered if i know?
Can you please react to Nation by Big Pig , audio reaction Please
Along with My INXS request 😊
You need to do my ever changing moods, Walls Come Tumbling Down and your the best thing by the style council, this isnt the original version of this song though, original is much better in my opinion!
Great reaction, I absolutely love this song, not a 'shitty ditty' at all ha ha.
Very George Michael
Shame, this is the remixed version from their "Best of" album, rather than the superior original 12" version (the video has the edited 7" version)
Unfortunately i remember this song. Early Jam were good but near their end they started sliding. It was obviously time for them to disband. But i could not get the Style Council (oxymoron). Slick and soulful and too sugary - enough to bring on diabetes. Weller did improve with songs like Wildwood and Peacock Suit but has been very patchy. Still the media hold him high regard and, fair play to him he is still playing live (still no interaction eith the audience though).
This is how far Paul Weller was prepared to go to lay the ghost of his “ near Punk “ roots with The Jam .. he went so middle of the road he accidentally got a Cats Eye in the ass .. 😳
It’s Awwwwwful in an Epic way 🤯
👍🏴
Bore off and go listen to your old Max Bygraves records
@@normandavidtidiman9918 I see from your past comments on here you have a history of maniacal adherence to Weller , in fact though your eminently forgettable to me it seems I’ve upset you before haven’t I ? Thin skinned and volatile where Me Weller is concerned eh ? Did you burst into tears when you read my opinion ? Have you sought legal advice yet ? You sound a bit sad and pathetic really if another persons opinion of your fav band gets you so riled up .. 👀.. Norman !!
👍🏴
@@normandavidtidiman9918looks like my salty reply to you has been hooked - mug !

I tell you I have had Cats eyes in the ass at 55 mph it hurts ! Meow cant stand Style Council !!
@@ghichens3418 lol Sir G .. 😝

This was a big improvement from The Jam. Paul Weller was shifting his focus on being relatable and not bothering us with all that boring English politics.
@whenMTVplayedMusic-t9y Australia's produced some good bands and artists but the brits are in a different class from any other country in the world
@whenMTVplayedMusic-t9y no such thing as English politics , try and get a education whilst your still at school
@@xtraspecial4677 Oh my God! Are you seriously following me? Does RUclips have a follow user? Since when did you sign up to be my teacher? Detach yourself from me now man! You're freaking me out!!!!
@@xtraspecial4677 And why are you talking to me about Australia??? Please don't tell me your saw my comment on the Black Sorrows, and you thought you'd answer me here. Seriously, get off my back! I didn't ask for you to be my fact monkey. 🤮
@@xtraspecial4677 And allow me to let you in on something. Most of us Americans like Aussies 1000 times more than we like you Britis, because of people like you! Oh my God... Most of us Americans only got your bands in small doses. The Jam aren't even heard of in the States, and The Style Council was a half-hit wonders. Most of the music that never made it in the US could only survive in the UK. You had three good decades, and in that time you had a LOT of bombs and in the 90's your country barely existed as a music contributor. Now get out of here with this different class b/s. You're talking to somebody that doesn't even give a damn about you people. 🤮
I’m going to see Paul Weller in concert tonight. I wouldn’t expect him to, but I really hope he doesn’t do this song.
This is a remix from later in the decade. I prefer the original.
Nice one but the song would have benefit from a real bass guitar.
"You're The Best Thing" is even more lush, not to be confused with song of the same name by D:ream.
I don't like Paul weller, or the jam , nearly all my mates did, reminds me of benny hill, ' stick your fingers in your ears and go ting-a-ling aloo_ not for me 🏴✌️
