Dude the IMDB page means nothing. It's just a general description placed there by some rando who wanted to feel important (like contributing to a MAL page) and left there because there's nothing official. It's not "Part I" and was just made up by a fan. If anyone wants any comfort, There was a picture of JVR meeting with Tomino early last year on his Instagram that was removed at some point. No explanation attached, Maybe to get some approval or just Japanese business decorum but that's all that was made public in some capacity since 2021. This project is the biggest monster netflix and legendary has ever tried to put together so it's still years down the line, if at all and at some point he is going to have to figure out if he's burning at least another 5 years of his career on this (and the Metal Gear fantasy) or he actually makes a movie sometime in this decade.
the one thing I really hope is that they use or build a 1/1 scale statue for some shots, it would be amazing, it's always better to have something in the studio rather than just green screens
I hope they don't try to follow gundam design completely out of anime, they will end up ruin the movie completely, just look at the live size gundam in Japan. If that were in live action movie. do you think it look cool?. Just follow the step that make the Transfomers movie success is better the trying to go all by line & dot of manga design.
I actually kind of hate that they are doing the UC timeline. I think for a gundam live action movie to be successful, it needs to lean into being a REAL robot movie. No newtypes...no space wizards.... and no magic mobile suits. Just military robots fighting in war. As soon as you get too deep into the newtype lore (i.e. as soon as Amaro uses the Nu gundam to stop an asteroid with space magic lights) you're going to lose normies. Fast.
Honestly I don't officially like to see a new one Let's be honest it's good but seeing a official Live Action is not really good. If they like let's say Vengence from Requiem and The Live Actions released side by side who would Notice but also if you wanna ask what to compare search Voltes V Live Action if it did work well

But isnt uc the more realistic side of the gundam series? Wouldn't uc make more sense then the other timelines?
