The people there got their own movement. Their own sound even. I lived there from 06-08' and was amazed by that Hyphy shit and the way people just rocked their own shit. It was very unique. On KMEL- you heard Keke and $hort and E-40 and even old school Spice 1. Mac Dre, Luniz Ect. I fucking loved it. Detroit just don't do that. They dick ride everyone else. It shows in some ways a decline from a poor community to a ghetto, over decades, but at the same time, the real problem of murder and people hating each other that was in the beginning was the same at the end. I noticed the Bible verse at 3:31 isn't a real Bible verse, or at least the quote isn't real. The actual verse (Revelation 22:3) is: "And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and His servants shall serve Him:" I think the quote on the billboard and the actual Bible verse are saying that these things will continue until Christ returns and the curse of sin is ended.
It seems like that quote is more closely attributed to Matthew 24:37 "37 When the Son of Man appears, things will be just as they were when Noah lived."
