      I agree, I'm a fan of both. But being from Detroit, I can say that not many cats are still knockin Too $hort anymore, E-40 even less. I stayed out in the bay for a couple yrs tho and i love that sound, and E-40 is the slang king. But nobody really gets love like Scarface.

    • @tonystarks6113
      @tonystarks6113 10 лет назад +1

      Well, yeah no doubt. That's because the Bay Area itself is it's own little world. No place I've been is really like it at all. In Oakland, the radio shows love to its local artists all day long. The people there got their own movement. Their own sound even. I lived there from 06-08' and was amazed by that Hyphy shit and the way people just rocked their own shit. It was very unique. On KMEL- you heard Keke and $hort and E-40 and even old school Spice 1. Mac Dre, Luniz Ect. I fucking loved it.
      Detroit just don't do that. They dick ride everyone else. Only NY & Miami and kind of (but not really) Houston support their own on local radio.
      I got mad love for the Bay. As well as the Purp they smoke there.

    This is deep. I liked this video when it first came out. But looking back, it's very meaningful. It shows in some ways a decline from a poor community to a ghetto, over decades, but at the same time, the real problem of murder and people hating each other that was in the beginning was the same at the end.
    I noticed the Bible verse at 3:31 isn't a real Bible verse, or at least the quote isn't real. The actual verse (Revelation 22:3) is: "And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and His servants shall serve Him:" I think the quote on the billboard and the actual Bible verse are saying that these things will continue until Christ returns and the curse of sin is ended.

    • @kalebnbrown

    One of my FAVORITE Hip Hop beats... the pianos in it... so beautiful. I'm always drawn to a beautiful melody... and this one has it. Its one of those melodies that draws you in without lyrics. Such a simple beat... very repetitive... much like Life in the ghetto... simple and repetitive. Like he said in the song about how they stay confined to their small environment... its simple... and the music captures that. Such a great song. I had to come find this song because I just scrolled across an underground artist on Soundcloud who used this beat to spit some bars on. Had to cut it off real quick and come get the real thing. Timeless song, Scarface. TIMELESS.
