Outcast was really good at having catchy songs about deep shit. Having you singing about custody battles, staying together for the kids (hey ya) and all that while you jamming not realizing it at all
The metaphor in the video was soo real. A man doing everything to keep the roof up and the home going although nothing seems like it enough and at the end for the roof to cave only to find that in the mist of it all there’s true happiness by letting things go (hence sun shining through + him smiling) Real situation.
As a child I watched this video and never understood the metaphorical imagery. Ms. Jackson rides outside the home with a look of disgust. Andre is inside trying to catch every drop to save the house. BIG BOI is on the roof making repairs. In the end the roof caves in. Nothing they ever did was good enough to make the house a home but there is always light even in the darkest of times as shown in the very end when they are gazing through the open roof. this song is straight gOld, imo the ms jackson car and the turtle frame represents a revisit to the past when the momma tought it was all good within him and her daughter but now Andre shows her how the relationship really was (the house as a represantation of the relationship, falling apart). it’s a music video that i didn’t even know existed.
and i’ve loved outkast for a while now.
It's at 200 million views bro, come on.
No ones ever happy
@Kapil Sharma lol. pretty sure it had some creative issues before that and that a single guy can't ruin the whole thing all by himself.
@@NateS917 I mean, that's good and all but there are inferior songs out there with much more. I think that's what op meant.
@@jonathacirilo5745 oh well. Can we just focus on the music and not how many views it has
It's 20 years anniversary of a classic album "Stankonia" and If you reading this you probably got a good taste in music.
I'm glad we in the same boat, with the same vibes from this song.
I wish you a good life!
Shoutout from Ukraine 🇺🇦 ✌🏽
Man!! This song brings back killer memories. I was 28 yrs old, clubbin, and putting away the alcohol. Damn!! What memories in Louisville, Ky.

this song still bangs 22 years later...🙌🏾 I was 10 when this came out and my then teachers name was Ms Jackson 😅 even she couldn't be mad when we replied with "I'm sorry Ms Jackson..." after being told off in class lol...priceless memories & timeless song 🙌🏾 one of the best duo group ever 💜
Hahaha What Awesome Joke
@@Mr.WonderJames thanks - just wanted to share a fun memory 😊

This song is a masterpiece, it's on my playlist and I listen to it often, because it makes me feel good. Even today, after about 12 years, this piece is listened to and loved.
Well done.
Well said
Concuerdo contigo
Yessir!
22 years not 12
Sorry, I thought it was about 12 years since "Ms. Jackson" was released. Thanks for the correction
This song was my WHOLE ENTIRE CHILDHOOD!!
SAME. This along with Hey Ya!
trevohn rogers Yea....
yeah I remember I was on a witch hunt for this
Quan Slomo LOL!!
Mine too. I was 10 when it came out lol
It hurts me to hear Andre 3000 say he doesn’t feel he is relevant or important anymore , his music will and will always be an important part of hip hop , it’s 2020 , and I’m still bumping this while cleaning my room on a rainy day , “the south will and will always have something to say !”🔥💯❤️💪🏾🙏🏾
2025 Can't Believe It's Been 25 Years Since This Classic Song Video And Album.
"Stankonia" Is An Highly Underrated Album. OutKast Deserves Their Flowers
Glad I Grew Up To This Era
Miss Them Times 😭🤧
25 Years Classic. Still Dope 🔥🔥
This is the type of song which you remember out of nowhere and it gets stuck in your head for the rest of the week. Legendary.
the chorus has randomly appeared in my head for the last 6 months

It's classic
Yep
Bruh real gs never forget the classics
I meannn... This is still relevant today sad to say. Black father's!!! Keep fighting for your babies ,& females need to grow up out that mentality . Kids are not pawns
this song is straight gOld, imo the ms jackson car and the turtle frame represents a revisit to the past when the momma tought it was all good within him and her daughter but now Andre shows her how the relationship really was (the house as a represantation of the relationship, falling apart). Andre was so exhausted then the house finally fall off and sees the sky and realizes life is more than that and goes on, but he feels sorry for Ms Jackson for cut bonds like that
This track is so legendary!!! No one can beat the early 2000's music!!!
Ofc. No other song. 2000s songs and older songs
90's can 😉
@@crimibarbs top tune one of the better ones xx
People still blast this one out true music lasts xx
Early-mid 90s says otherwise.
But OutKast were great.. meandering in a maze of present day hip hop mediocrity.
OutKast doesn’t get enough respect!
Jake Grenard Most of the Hip Hop community view them as the best duo in the genre's history.
People always forget big boi and pay respect only to andre
ColderThan Coca-cola ik, i dont understand why, its like he is completely forgotten about
🤔 Andres the dude that doesn't do features and no movies tho. If I was Rick, first off that'd be cool. And I'd want talking animals that wanted to waste their days listening to music w/ me too
Probably because Big Boi was not on "Hey Ya!" as it was just André 3000.
