One thing that I didn't realise until this video, for someone who only made it halfway through third year, Hagrid is really talented at transfiguration. Like, to be able to give pig features, given that he was already so close to a pig, is some serious aptitude. We're told in OOtP than the more "sentient" the creature, the more difficult the transfiguration is. The only explanation is that Dumbledore was giving Hagrid Transfiguration lessons on the side post-expulsion.
I think the reason Snape didn't want anyone to know about his motives is simply because he was a double agent and felt like he couldn't fully trust anyone but Dumbledore. He had to make people on both side question his loyalty and reasons so they would believe he was in their side. Plus people generally believe others will behave as they would, such as a liar thinks everyone is always lying, and so Snape could imagine what others would do with that info would be the exact things he would do
My headcanon is that Hagrid just really enjoys his work as groundskeeper, he enjoys working outside and using his hands. So he would be annoyed if one of the teachers tried using magic to move the Christmas trees for him. He likes being useful
So, Hagrid only got up to Third Year, but when he gives Dudley his tail, and speeds up the boat, he does both spells non-verbally. How? (I suspect that Dumbledore might have been teaching Hagrid a few spells here and there, or maybe, once his wand was repaired, he tried to teach himself.
Right, there was definitely more learning that happened. All of Hagrid's spells are cast non-verbally, something we see the 6th years struggling with in Half Blood Prince.
Moleskin actually just refers to a traditional English working coat that uses a specific technique to make cotton more protective against wind. So it’s not made of moles at all.
Please do video on Severus snape and his triple agent-ing (as well as like his sacrifice and stuff) because he is my fav character in the Harry Potter series
Even if Hagrid doesn't help Dumbledore win (which I REALLY hope he does, it'd be such a miss opportunity to not include him in these new movies!), I think Dumbledore would've still repaired his wand ASAP. Dumbledore is such a good judge of character, he knew Tom Riddle was BSing way before anyone else did and believed in Hagrid's innocence when no one else did. So I think he'd definitely repair it, as he knows that Hagrid is a good and genuine person through and through.

Hagrid's coat doesn't seem to have the same protection as a mokeskin pouch since Harry was able to retrieve coins to pay the Daily Prophet delivery owl on the morning of his 11th birthday.
Hagrid's coat can't be made of mokesin because in the first book Harry takes all sorts of things out of it trying to find money to use to pay for the Daily Prophet. But that could have been a cool one so, props for that.❤
You probably don't address this in the theory - but how was Hagrid supposed to bring Harry to the Dursley's on that kind of schedule if he hadn't just *happened* to run into Sirius Black who loaned him his motorcycle? There's no way Dumbledore could have predicted that (remember later he thought Sirius was guilty too), and Dumbledore shows up just before Hagrid does. Whereas if Hagrid had had to do it by foot, it would have taken *much* longer.
Hagrid's coat is not made of mokeskin since harry goes through it's pockets when he needs to pay the post owl the morning after hagrid telling him he's a wizard. Unless it is possible to go through it's content if the owner has aloud it in some way...
Hagrid is the sort to give his life for someone without hesitation. We see this time and again. He willingly surrenders to the ministry in CoS, he could have floored Fudge and Malfoy without breaking a sweat. Goblet has him defending Dumblore and acting as an aid wizard during the tournament. In book Five he stays for the students and Grawp. Year 6, he grabs Katie when, for all anyone knew, the xurse could have passed to him. Year 7 we see him in the battle where he not only tries to defend students, but the spiders as well. Imagine if Hagrid had been there when Lupin went moony in book 3. He could have single-handedly stopped lupin’s rampage.
10:01 maybe dumbledore sees hagrid like he saw newt and thats why he trusts him bc he puts him in the same category The parallels are definitely there even beyond both being expelled for someone elses doing

Let's take a moment and think about Dumbledore at the time of Hagrid's expulsion from Hogwarts... Dumbledore was battling his own demons as Grindelwald was making strides forward, and his own dark history was coming back to haunt him. Meanwhile, he was teaching students transfiguration. He wasn't the headmaster yet, so he likely was head of Gryffindor house. That means that Hagrid was in *his* house while Riddle was opening the Chamber of Secrets. Every concern Dumbledore raised about Riddle was promptly dismissed--which had to be beyond frustrating. Ultimately, even though Dumbledore knew Hagrid was innocent, and even though he had strong suspicions that Riddle was responsible for Myrtle's death, he was overruled and forced to expel his own student. That must have been terribly haunting for Dumbledore. Hagrid was an orphan, a young man with no family, no friends, and now no school. All because Dumbledore was too tortured by the loss of his own family and sister to trust himself to seize power. After all, if Dumbledore had taken up the role of Minister of Magic or something, he could have prevented this, right? Surely, Dumbledore would have blamed himself for Hagrid being framed and consequently expelled. I'm certain Dumbledore did everything in his power to stand up for Hagrid (if Avada Kedavra lands someone in Azkaban for life, it must have taken a herculean effort to keep Hagrid out of prison), but knowing Dumbledore's propensity for self-flagellation, that would be little comfort to him. He didn't trust himself with the power that he could have easily taken, the power that could have prevented Hagrid from being a suspect at all, that could have kept Hagrid in school, that could have kept Hagrid's wand intact. The power that could have saved Hagrid, a boy with *everything* going against him--his heritage, his home life, likely terribly bullied, lacking talent--and yet, with the biggest, gentlest, purest heart Dumbledore had ever witnessed (and would ever witness). This remarkable boy, Hagrid, who naturally connected and gained the trust of creatures that Dumbledore had studied for years just to communicate with. Dumbledore probably witnessed things like Hagrid chillin' with Thestrals during breaks, and saw the way the animals respected him, and it probably was incredibly touching. So, having to be the one who expelled Hagrid was probably in the top five most painful moments of Dumbledore's life. (Oo! Top five most painful moments of Dumbledore's Life! That'd be an epic video! ...though kind of depressing, now that I think about it. 😕 ) So, why does Dumbledore trust Hagrid? Because Hagrid still didn't blame anyone else when he was expelled. He thanked Dumbledore for keeping him out of prison. He took the groundskeeper job with joy. He protected and loved the creatures around the school who were doing a lot more for the school and the magical population than anyone realizes. His love was always unconditional and his loyalty was unwavering, even when Dumbledore considered himself wildly unworthy of that loyalty. Ultimately, Dumbledore knew that Hagrid had earned his trust, and Dumbledore probably felt like Hagrid was owed some serious credit--far more than just picking up Harry would earn him. (Added bonus: Hagrid's giant blood protected him from a lot of spells, including stunning spells. That made him a great candidate for going into potentially dangerous situations, with or without a wand.) (And yes, totally 100% for sure Dumbledore gave Hagrid the pink umbrella. It was seriously the least he could do.)
Hagrid has total complete faith in Dumbledore, Like Lupin, Dumbledore saw Hagrid potential and fought for him to come to school, then provides support after, Hagrid's Dad dies, Hagrid and Dumbledore then spend 50 years being collages and i have noticed how Dumbledore, Explains everything almost teaches a lessons with seemingly without realising. I would trust Hagrid; + Hagrid is a good person. + Hagrid has no hurt in him, (Hagrid only fights to defend others). + Hagrid is a hiper empath, + Hagrid is motivated by love and not money or personal gain.
Or maybe Dumbledore can see that Hagrid is kind, loyal, and pure of heart. Harry, Ron, and Hermoine can sense that they could trusr Hagrid as 11 year olds. I'd imagine a person like Dumbledore can see it as well. Especially because he tends to see the best in people

I love all the Harry Potter content lately. My favourite kind of content.
Every Swagrid reference in any of your videos always makes me happy. Can never get enough of #SWAGRID!
RIP big guy, we will always love you! Robbie
R. I. P., Robbie Coltrane. You will be missed, king.
Hagrid is honestly one of my favorite characters (along with Luna and Dobby and of course The Golden Trio)
Dobby deserved it :p
RIP Robbie Coltrane
RIP Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid’s Actor)
12:08 AND all non-verbally which is a sign of very skilled wizard.
Rest in Peace Robbie Coltrane. Our hearts are broken it feels like we all lost a close friend.
Rest in peace Robbie
hear hear R.I.P. Robbie Coltrane
I would trust Hagrid with my life. He’s the most loyal and honorable character in the game.
My life, yes. My secrets? Yeah no 😉
5:05 Honestly i always tought Hagrid was asked to create the skrewts for the tournament
This is probably the best theory writing I’ve seen come out of this channel
I’m always waiting for SCB to post a new video you are the best ! And everyone at SCB is the best ! Keep up the fantastic work ladies and gentlemen!
I think that Dumbledore was also teaching Hagrid after he fix his wand.
Right, there was definitely more learning that happened. All of Hagrid's spells are cast non-verbally, something we see the 6th years struggling with in Half Blood Prince.
@@13vatra wait, did Dumbledore make Hagrid into a spy?
Moleskin actually just refers to a traditional English working coat that uses a specific technique to make cotton more protective against wind. So it’s not made of moles at all.
Please do video on Severus snape and his triple agent-ing (as well as like his sacrifice and stuff) because he is my fav character in the Harry Potter series
I haven’t even watched this video yet.. but i have waited for this for YEARS!!!!
5:22 this manticore picture is from the DND monster manual
RIP Robbie Coltrane😭
Robbie Coltrane RIP.
He really brought the wonderful character of Hagrid to life
Gotta trust someone so nice and fiscally responsible!
Perfection
Even if Hagrid doesn't help Dumbledore win (which I REALLY hope he does, it'd be such a miss opportunity to not include him in these new movies!), I think Dumbledore would've still repaired his wand ASAP. Dumbledore is such a good judge of character, he knew Tom Riddle was BSing way before anyone else did and believed in Hagrid's innocence when no one else did. So I think he'd definitely repair it, as he knows that Hagrid is a good and genuine person through and through.
Hagrid wants to drag the Christmas trees in. He's got holiday spirit!
I am kinda amazed that your still going strong after all this time! I get it I am new here and have a lot to catch up with, Yet your still creating new Harry Potter content and your numbers still look pretty darn good to me! Well I do hope your channel is doing well and that all is fine here abouts . . . ? You boys enjoy your day.
The new Harry Potter Magic Caster wand was advertised while watching this video. How perfect!
Repairing and transfiguring. We know canonically that Dumbledore is skilled at that form of magic
RIP Robbie Coltrane.
Hagrid's coat doesn't seem to have the same protection as a mokeskin pouch since Harry was able to retrieve coins to pay the Daily Prophet delivery owl on the morning of his 11th birthday.
Watching this and found out R.C. died today. R.I.P. Hagrid.
Video idea: Why is Moaning Murtle a ghost (why does she not move on) and if that has something to do with Voldemort, did she move on when he died?
I love that you had a pink umbrella :D
Hagrid's coat can't be made of mokesin because in the first book Harry takes all sorts of things out of it trying to find money to use to pay for the Daily Prophet. But that could have been a cool one so, props for that.❤
I love the Swagrid bits
I always figured it had something to do with Hagrid being a half giant with certain immunities to magic.
Hagrid, in terms of virtue, was a Percival level knight in addition to being a “tank”.
Everyone needs a friend like Swagrid😭
Don't forget Hagrid also put the house fire out at the end of half blood prince with aquamenti
May he rest in peace! I love Hagrid and is one of my favorite characters. This video makes me smile
NICE! Right when I was going to look up an old video, you guys upload a new video! :D
paused the video to type this lol
I always assumed Hagrid insisted that he bring in the trees so he could be helpful
Hagrid's coat is not made of mokeskin since harry goes through it's pockets when he needs to pay the post owl the morning after hagrid telling him he's a wizard. Unless it is possible to go through it's content if the owner has aloud it in some way...
I LOVE the humour in the Hagrid videos. Absolutely on point 👌
10:01 maybe dumbledore sees hagrid like he saw newt and thats why he trusts him bc he puts him in the same category
The parallels are definitely there even beyond both being expelled for someone elses doing
'Let's back of the head face it, Very clever, J.
Harry retrieved money out of Hagrid’s coat in the first book. When he needs to pay the owl
Your theory about Hagrid's wand makes perfect sense.
I always get a good laugh whenever Swagrid comes out 😂🤣
4:49 "back of the head face that" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ive always wondered why Hagrids name was never officially cleared after COS.
RIP to the GOAT
Good ol' DRAGrid. He's got that tree!
Wow after more than 20 years when I was a child and read Harry Potter and I still find things about it, amazing that totally makes sense that is how hagrid's wand works
Hagrid is very useful and im sure dumbledore would have realized how useful having a half giant in your back pocket is
Hi a moke is a small green lizards that can shrink mentioned in the book Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, (not the screenplay). Moke skin pouches can have things removed by others than whoever put them in but they shrink like the lizard when anyone but the owner approaches making them hard to steal.
By the way love the channel ur way of doing the quizzes really helped me find them slightly harder when u r given options it is too easy.
So, why does Dumbledore trust Hagrid?
That made him a great candidate for going into potentially dangerous situations, with or without a wand.)
(And yes, totally 100% for sure Dumbledore gave Hagrid the pink umbrella. It was seriously the least he could do.)
I really love the video but as someone who has an intense fear of spiders could be maybe keep Aragog out and instead have more Swagrid?
This is why we need Tom Riddle Prequels. I bet we get more Hagrid backstory with those
In the books, Harry goes through Hagrid's coat to give the daily prophet owl his money.. wouldn't that be impossible if Hagrid’s coat was of Mokeskin?
Aye
Why would that be impossible?
@@swanqueen because Mokeskin prevents any but the owner from taking from it. The pouch Harry wears on his neck in Deathly Hallows is made of the stuff
@@thedragonwarrior5861 thanx!
@@swanqueen you're welcome
I can't believe I never wondered how Hagrid's wand got repaired.
R.i.p. Hagrid🥲🥲❤️❤️💯💯
I would trust Hagrid;
+ Hagrid is a good person.
+ Hagrid has no hurt in him, (Hagrid only fights to defend others).
+ Hagrid is a hiper empath,
+ Hagrid is motivated by love and not money or personal gain.
J and Ben: here’s a completely logical theory about how Hagrid saves Dumbledor
Warner Bros: Hold my Butterbeer
Or maybe Dumbledore can see that Hagrid is kind, loyal, and pure of heart. Harry, Ron, and Hermoine can sense that they could trusr Hagrid as 11 year olds. I'd imagine a person like Dumbledore can see it as well. Especially because he tends to see the best in people
You put a manticore in the forest bruh!! 😂😂😂😂 dying haha
It's funny you mention the "current film series", because I think it might be over with already
You should do a video on how to send a howler and or what happens if you do not open a howler right away (P.S. love your vids ❤❤❤
