      Good good times I'll bet. If you have any super AMC secrets, lay them on me. This is the first AMC I ever owned :)

    Totally a primitive or at least predecessor to the McPherson Strut. Ahead of its time.
    Have a great weekend!

      It does resemble the strut - here we though AMC was the bottom of the barrel. You have a good one too my friend :)

    Very interesting suspension Jerry. I’ve rebuilt straight axle king pins and everything up to strut suspension but never have seen that type. Something new for old timers. Have a great weekend

      It's like the beginning of the strut suspension - thanks for watching Greg.

    Very cool ... It's like a rudimentary version of a modern strut... Pretty neat if you ask me... And wouldn't be hard to convert to a more modern version.. But I wouldn't change it... thanks Jerry for sharing it with us.

      I was thinking the same thing. It looks like the MacPherson strut used the idea of the trunion and slipped a shock inside.

    Hey Jerry, wow, its surprising how all that load is on a bearing. Your strut bar is in the back, wow, mine are in the front, but i have big torsion bars one for each side of course where your strut bar is

    I have been watching all your art work. Is it possible to fix a nineties gmc bumber rusted out? Thanks.

      @LakesideAutobody  7 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks Sheldon - anything can be fixed. I only work on my own stuff at the moment. I live in a residential neighborhood and those are the rules. No rules against making YT videos though - at least not yet 🥴

      @@LakesideAutobody cool. I have been playing with medal for a couple decades doing soffit , cladding and siding. A warm shop and on the ground, looks like my kinda job. Lol Got a beat up 94 gmc Ill try tackling. Have total confidence thanks to your vids. Have a press and break to assist. What gauge medal is standered? And size of mig wire needed? Thanks for the knowledge

    • @LakesideAutobody
      @LakesideAutobody  7 месяцев назад +1

      Use 22 or 20 gauge that's ~ .030" & .035"
      I like .023" wire - maybe just cause I'm used to it. .030" works fine to but I can feel it "hit" the metal at least I think I feel it. Anyway both work fine. Feel free to ask any ?s when you get to it :)@@sheldon26815
