Moving the origin is pretty easy, just go to the options tab in the top right. If you have any questions then feel free to contact me via my website jasonferry.com.
the only advice that actually worked among those silly tips instructing to install useless addons or fooling around with cursor, this video deserves more exposure
I was driving myself crazy over this, I had no idea that I had accidentally rotated the origin point and spent hours trying to find videos on what was wrong, thank you!!
Holy hell, thank you so much for this. I am working on recreating some old dual images rotating TikTok animations and this was the tip I needed. Thank you so much.
for me after I move it it instantly teleports it back I'm going crazyyyyy EDIT: it was a parent that's why I couldn't move it, I HAAATE when people set a single point as the parent how am I supposed to know this as a newbie that it's not the origin?...
Finally! Was trying to move a group of paths and it wasn't working because "Affect only origins" was erroneously toggled. Hate this got goddamned program. I miss lightwave.
Moving the origin point moves the whole skeleton, at least for me, separating the skeleton from the meshes. So it solves one problem I have but makes another
Why can’t I see my materials and starter assets at all and I don’t know if I deleted or something, and how do I get them back? Because there’s nothing there, can you please make a video about it?
You mean the panel on the left side, right? If you go to Window > Show/Hide Assets does it come back? I'm not sure why it would've disappeared but that might fix it.
@@JasonFerry I have the screenshots ready but I don’t think the website lets you send pictures, maybe can I email it differently or is there a way to send pictures?

@@JasonFerry no it didn’t work, like how do I get my shapes and textures back, they’re all gone and there’s no project materials 🥲
Hmmmm I'd have to see it, would you be able to send some screenshots to me? My email is jason@jasonferry.com.

What if I want to move the origin point to a specific part of my model?
You can snap the 3D cursor to whichever part of your model and then click Set Origin to 3D Cursor 😎
Yeah but how do I move it to the exact centre of world space?
Just made a video for you 😉
shortcut key?
thx
T H A N K S
