Got mine 2012 sonata se in 2018 for 2k due to the engine failing. Years later, the class action lawsuit was filled, they reimbursed my payment to fix the engine. My first car and still have it, I now have a Lexus is350 F sport, so I don’t drive my sonata but I kept it to remind myself where my love for cars started
I got an offer of 13000 for this one with leather seats but they are charging me very high for the financing. 7K more than the value price and it’s going to be a 7 year old car.
This was the best design! The ones past this generation lost their appeal in favor of too much of the same themes going on! More like trying too hard to have a distinguished styling but that's what this generation was!
*Buyer Beware* 2011-2014 have severe engine issues. They can fail suddenly at ANYTIME due to manufacturing issue. Hyundai is honoring a replacement up to and around 150k but it will have to go through tests to make sure it failed because of their errors. One guaranteed way to know is you hear clicking, knocking from the engine and/or the check engine light is blinking, that mean it's in "safe mode" to prevent more damage
This is why I lost interest in this car: all my friends who have this car have had it stop in the middle of nowhere. Yeah, they can replace it, but that's a lot of days lost in the garage, probably taking Uber to get around. No thanks.
I bought one at copart, 2012, salvage title, 45,000 miles, easy and cheap frontal crash to repair, it cost me 3,400 dollars, approximately 1,000 dollars to repair
@@Omzz_99 it’s not the fastest but is reliable. It’s good on gas as well. The engine might give up on you but you can get it replaced at the dealership, free of charge.

Still a nice car in 2018, definitely a good alternative to a Camry from the same time period
Well put
If you want it buy it don't look for our approval
@Roshiar Fares okay? 💀
My mom owns one of these, loves it, doesn’t want to give it up

Don't buy! I had 3 2.0t engines replaced on this car. Total nightmare. Low miles yahhhh cuz it was in the shop month after every breakdown... 🤔

The class action lawsuit is now rolling out a lifetime warranty for these engines, if plagued by that problem.
@@Evan2 bought one with the engine replaced has lifetime warranty.
Yup! My 2012 has a brand new motor in it
