I've heard more than 10 versions of Vivaldi's La folia. This one performed by Kuijken is definitely the best and one of the most rigorous baroque music. I continue listening it at least one time everyday since two years ago. It's really a classic piece with classic performance.
+gesandor I did, but I really don't like it. The style they performed is really pretentious. They even skipped the 11th variation, which is one of my favorite parts.

the best performance of vivaldi's la follia so far..it sounds like there are at least 10 persons playing this piece rather than just 4

+Kan-Hsueh Chiang Did you hear La Follia performed by Apollo's Fire (Cleveland Baroque Orchestra)? :)

YA
@@kan-hsuehchiang3819 I think exactly like you, they also have exaggerated dynamics and accents.
best live performance i've seen, it's true! but i'd like to know your opinion about Il Giardino Armonico's La Follia. Thanks!
Simply wonderful
vivaldi's la follia has always been a favorite of mine...thanks for the upload...well done
Homage to the tradition of Folias, from Spain to England. Bravo maestro Kuijken!
sounds of hevan, it's amazing ...i can't stop lessening...
Look! Isn't it Beethoven on the Violoncello da Spalla?
Did they re-animate him?
@@1earflapping it's Garrison Keiler
I think he just goes to the same hairdresser.
Мне очень нравится и исполнение, и исполнители. Замечательные съемки!
Любимое произведение Вивальди.
Never knew madness could be this beautiful T-T
Bravi👏👏👏👏
I love the dinamic bow playing that the Violin 1 player gave
Ca me tient en vie

Вы молодцы ! У вас очень элегантный коллектив ! ПОКЛОН !
contagiante e estimulante!
Great talents.
¡Bravo!
this is the folia extremely baroque
I have a question: The violin was played for Sara Kuijken In this performance is a Jacob Stainer violin or a copy based on Jacob Stainer instrument?
perfect
Cello da spalla
bravo!
viola da spalla
oui
yes - this is da spalls
no - violoncello piccolo is another instrument (held "da gamba" & with 5 strings)
It is the same than "Madness of Spain" of Marin MARAIS... :-)
4 sounding like 40
I am intersting the Viola da gamba
If this is folly I yearn for drowning in it!
Is the right player plays a violone? (an octave down from violin tuning)
It is a Spalla, a kind of cello played on the shoulder, I.e. spalla. Violone is more like a bass but with frets. Too big to hold up.
What is the name of the instrument playing the cello part?
Viola da spalla
@@thelredtheunready1894 Cello da spalla
vivaldi?
Get some
not strong enough
Good taste needs not to be too strong!
