I love how Milo's stories never really drew much skepticism despite being too cool to be real and, in some cases, physically impossible, yet the story that he'd died suddenly at 79 was what roused everyone's suspicions.
It's not that no one was suspicious, no one really cared.

It is funny, but I totally understand not raising an eyebrow at a user who claims to be a grizzled old vet having outlandish/exaggerated stories to tell any audience he can get his hands on. At the same time, I wouldn't have raised an eyebrow at his death personally, even though it did feel a bit too tidy in hindsight, in the moment I'd have likely just said RIP and moved on (assuming I cared at all, which I likely wouldn't have).
My money is still the same as when I first hear do this on redweb, mercenarys hiding their info on a borderline cp site. If you think about it, it kinda makes sense! If your a normal person, you don't go there. If your a sicko, you don't crack into the code to find the listings. Ether way, they probibly won't get caught posting hits on arms dealers!

I don't think I've ever seen a side of RUclips grow so beautiful as the internet mystery side has. Like channels like nexpo and barely socialable and lemmino have gone from just explaining a story in decent detail to breaking them wide open with brand new research. It's just been a pleasure to see over the last few years

I haven’t heard of Lemmino. Will check him out. My two favorites are Nexpo and my number 1 would probably be Lazy Masquerade. Lazy is more frightening material, however. Like how Nexpo has some freaky shit but leans moreso into the mysterious, Lazy has some mysterious shit that leans more into the downright disturbing. Both channels are brilliant. My only problem with either one is I have no more footage to watch until the newest video comes out, because I got so addicted.

I'd also recommend Quinton Reviews's trilogy on The Decline of the History Channel (insightful and funny) and, depending on what kind of content you're looking for, maybe Ahoy's video on Polybius, blameitonjorge, Calum, Down the Rabbit Hole, Paper Skies, TREY the Explainer, Zepherus, or some of Drachinifel's more dryly humorous videos like "The Russian 2nd Pacific Squadron: Voyage of the Damned".

I remember going on r/askreddit to find some rabbit holes, one of them mentioned the Milo guy so I checked his account and only his latest comment and I didn't think much about it until when I saw the thumbnail of this video so I checked it and I was horrified, I did not know any of the things shown (I did not know what's so special about the Milo guy so thankfully I did not idolize him)
Never heard of this guy before I watched this video. As soon as I heard that he was a mod on the jailbait subreddit, I immediately knew what kind of person he was and I did not like it

I figured it out. Nexpo does so many of these videos that I have come to a realization. Any enduring mystery with no conclusion that originated on the internet was done by Nexpo, decades ago, in anticipation of making this RUclips channel and relating those very stories later. Well played Nexpo.

I heard someone float the idea that Milo actually stands for military Information Liaison Officer. It's a position referenced in intelligence handbooks. The guy who took over for him has a name that is common military jargon in Britain as well (twosix).
It's interesting that he uses British military slang as well. He mentions that he served in Palestine from 1946-1949. This refers to the British occupation of Mandatory Palestine from Israeli and Arab militia within the province. As far as I know, Americans did not serve or even assist Britain or the opposing forces in Palestine until the Israeli declaration of independence in 1948.
MILOs also served exclusively in Cold War-era Germany in intelligence gathering operations and not in Mandatory Palestine.
Which is strange because he mentions being raised in Pennsylvania and being American. It's seems, if any part of this story is true, it means that this man is not in fact an American, but a Brit.

It's not necessarily a British thing. In the US military those are callsigns. The first number designates what squad or platoon. The second number is their position. 6 is the officer in charge. 7 would be the highest NCO. It was even mentioned that 2-6 is a position not a specific person. Which checks out

Most of the things Nexpo posts I've never heard before, because I don't really search for internet mysteries beyond the youtubers I follow. It's interesting hearing about these things, specially with the way Nexpo makes his videos. The use of imagery is really well done and his voice is a good one for narrating.

There's no goddamn way Milo was really who he said he was. Born in 1930 and enlisted in the armed forces at age thirteen, fought in both World War II and the Vietnam War at some of the most famous and historically important battles of the century, but decides to retire from the military and retrain in his mid fifties to become a software engineer? That's already highly suspect. On top of that, he's somehow still employed at nearly eighty years old and yet has the time to converse with people on social media and moderate a subreddit created to host explicit images of underage girls, yeah fucking right. And of course he's a grizzled old war horse who is mean and ornery but has at least one friend in Angel Two Six who conveniently knows about his activities on Reddit and is willing to make an account just to tell everyone on his disgusting child pornography message board that he's passed away. The entire story absolutely reeks of fakery and bullshit. I also don't believe that any of these guys were secretly hitmen for hire or coordinated mercenaries. I believe they really wanted to be, but they were miserable maladjusted child-lovers who only felt comfortable among their own ranks. There's no way these losers were traveling around the world committing high profile assassinations.

It was so obviously wanting to be like a rugged old war veteran in a movie but it doesn’t translate over reddit like they even wrote words incorrectly to try to emulate the accent…. That was painful to read.

I did my own investigation awhile back. One thing you didn’t mention is that many of the archived photos also add extra layers of perplexity, some of which add to the strangeness of the story, given the context.
1. Locations - many of the pictures feature locations from around the world. On the surface, these look like tourist photos. However, the pictures aren’t of famous sites or typical travel features (landscape views, selfies, activities, etc.). Many of them are outside pictures of hotels and nondescript buildings, things that would otherwise be uninteresting to the average tourist.
2. Architecture - some of the pictures are odd, out of place photos of doors and windows, with no context or description. Others are of specific entry points with a particular focus on signs that denote the entry point as being alarmed.
3. The woman - There are several photos posted across different years that feature an Asian woman in various locations around the world. It is the same woman in all the pictures.
He didn't touch on the fact of the website itself at all. Like yes, i understand the connections he made etc etc, but what about the purpose of the website itself, the coded messages and everything else? Why go so far to make it look like some kind of assassin marketplace when you are just going to fake your own death anyway?

Further to this; if you read the final line in the bottom post at 38:05 - there is a very dubious line from the LCQP admin noting how everyones"pics, hard work, and memories" were hosted on the site.
_Memories_ is the odd part that stuck out to me here. Hard work could imply the effort of gathering JB image collections, ...but "memories?" - to me this suggests images relating to the jobs were hosted on the site.
Makes sense for a global operation - someone scouts out the location and uploads entry points etc, and those executing whatever mission travel in with increased success rate due to better planning / having appropriate tools etc.
OP I've not seen the pictures you but I would imagine it's all evidence, and, if the places could be tracked down, it may be possible to ask around and find out what strange events happened during the relevant timeline at the locations. This could prove an important piece of the puzzle in confirming or denying the claim that the jobs were "heist/smuggling ops".

@@bsgfan1The archive being wiped/disappearing is highly peculiar, especially when taking into account the various accounts on the forum that were also wiped (or ‘hacked’..). If there is more to it than what meets the eye, it would make sense for someone to be scrubbing all of, or as much of, the evidence as possible. Beyond this being suspicious or questionable, it’s also rather disappointing, as I’d been hoping to dig into this mystery a bit further myself. That being said, I’m almost certain others would have complete backups of the data.
When a youtuber isn't a youtuber, this content is on a different stratosphere. The time and effort that went into this video is insane. Keep it up Nexpo you absolute beast.

Hired a P.I.? Does he show receipts? Did he confirm that he wasn't just saying that for dramatic effect for the sake of good storytelling? He is a great storyteller and setting the atmosphere in this way would make sense whether he actually used a licensed P.I. (or multiple) or if he just asked his roommate to "investigate" some links...
I'm of the opinion that the nexpo creators are quite literally elite level private investigators themselves, in regards to all things internet... they would be hard pressed to find and also hire a more effective internet investigator. Maybe they just gave themselves a bonus.
An interesting little detail is that "MILO" is a military acronym for "Military Intelligence Liaison Officer"
I mean, probably just a coincidence, but the fact that 2-6 felt the need to bring up RoP's cat, not only the reddit death post, but also the HTML post, being given to the neighbor, only to have things later fall into the hands of someone named MadamMeow, seems like something at least worth talking about

The way he says his age a few times in different threads while talking to people makes it feel like someone’s trying to establish a character. Most old people don’t want to reveal their age online because they feel like they’re taken less seriously. They benefit from the anonymity more than most because they can just be taken for their knowledge and experience. It’s definitely suspicious that a person would state their age more than once.

Damned if you do damned if you dont tbh. When I don’t make my age clear but people see my face, they don’t take me seriously because they think I’m like 19. When I do state my age, suddenly I’m too old for the internet.
Granted users perceived as men likely have a different experience than mine. And when my face isn’t shown and no one knows my age that’s generally when information is taken the most seriously.
Dunno if somebody else already explained it, but I think the 43:30 "Email Contacts" link is a classic spam trap. Basically, the site would be set up so that it'd produce an infinite number of those pages of fake e-mail addresses, so that spambots trawling the web (and unable to notice the text "Don't use these") would endlessly add the fake addresses to their database and crash.
Why this doesn't have more likes? It's really interesting.

Does dovetail into the disdain for spammers, too. I thought the list was supposed to be a maze of some sort where something would be hidden in one specific path through all the links, but I think the spam trap approach makes more sense.
It's possible the "Don't use these Email Contacts" link could be an anti-scraper tool.
Back in the day some web developers (myself included) would add a page that contained "garbage" addresses in hopes it would flood web scrapers with useless information.
I can't say for sure that's the case here, but figured I'd share this anyway.
I thought that I knew everything there was to know about LCQP. Turns out, I was wrong. I always felt like there was a lot more to this story and every RUclipsr that covered this topic merely only scratched the surface. Thanks for the deep dive.

Nexpo figured it out. People thought it was this big elaborate hit team that killed that guy in Dubai when it was just a dirty creep.
I was up all night digging through all the pastebin links, and very few of the uploaded images were still able to be downloaded. Plus, it was open to the public, as well, so increase the needle in haystack. I had a website run a site map on the email contacts list from the crystalwind archive, and if memory serves, it's like 3000 individual pages. That type of text was used alot in at least one of the r/lcqp subs. Around the same time as word was getting around about the page source code, u/godsoldercousin posted a bunch of obfuscated text with the thread titled compromised (I can't remember if it was fashioned the same way or not, but that account is still active to this day). There are more reddit accounts involved, as well that at least pretended to be in the know or whatever. It's crazy that it's even bigger than this hour long video.

They were furries in real life who did some perv stuff on Second Life. That explains their interest in 3D model packs. When the image board died they went to a TOR server instead.
Because we only ever found the answer for who hosted the image site. Now explain the coded messages and why the use of LCQP?
I thought barelysociable had gotten all the info there was and that it would remain a mystery forever but goddamn did NEXPO really did into this and gather some really crucial details. That being said, i kind of wish that he mentioned if he tried those encryption keys on the LCQP messages that no one has been able to crack.
My current working theory: Mike was a technical writer who was down on his luck yet ambitious. He originally started the Crystal Wind page to try and create a consulting firm, but in the end it amounted to nothing. Parallel to this, he began getting involved with the wrong crowd, a CP ring that was highly skilled when it came to technical stuff (that line of code could’ve very well just been a project one of them had been showing off). They would even meet up, forming a sort of close-knit community (probably all the same locale too, since it operated solely from New Jersey and they seemed to expect everyone to know why the site would be down due to storms).
Along the way, Mike created a couple of online personas that could be seen on the well-tread pages of the Internet, where he indulged in his fetish more openly and even hosted his own image sharing website to the point he got tired (or paranoid) of the mainstream and decided to start killing his more-public personas one by one to separate himself from them and go back into obscurity. Eventually, probably because he finally wanted to get his life back on track or something much darker (maybe he even got a job which explains how he can pay for the site), he disappeared entirely and the main HQ for his former pornography crew to gather kept getting traded to new admins who couldn’t keep it running (and, considering that most of them just up and ran, probably had to escape the country or were arrested). DSF would eventually be pretty much the only place left, only for the 2017 event to take place. My guess is that Mike changed his ways and came back with a vengeance, tearing everything apart for his former comrades, but that probably is too optimistic. Another guess could be that someone realized they could get got by authorities and attempted to cover their tracks.

the fact that the line of code at 27:18 has NEVER BEEN CRACKED TO THIS DAY is so insanely and deeply disturbing and perplexing to me…….
I've attempted cracking it myself and the only thing I've ever broke out of it was garbled mess of near words, to me it almost doesn't even seem like actual encrypted code, and more so like a mixture of a ton of different encryptions re encrypted multiple times over to the point where all of it has become too broken to actually decrypt

It really had to have some deep ties to something we are not aware of. Mike was for sure hiding something way worse than the image site he made by faking his death.

that is probably the most unbelievable part to be honest. if you know anything about web development, security or cryptography that is the most blatant and easily finable supposedly "hidden" information. it is literally just a comment in the source code, something you can find by right clicking a web page and choosing inspect element. even dark net drug dealers have x100 more operational security than that. either the work of somebody who is very incompetent or purposefully accessible to the public to generate intrigue.

I’m not personally convinced that the html comment messages were left there to generate public interest in the goings-on of TOGIH. Everyone involved in this story was 100% aware that creating that site was a personal burden and quite literally a high-risk venture. They didn’t host ads because they *couldn’t* host ads- the website’s content would literally blockade any such opportunity. The site was being targeted to a very specific community and was not being advertised outside of those bounds. It makes no sense to want eyes on the site outside of those that would vehemently want the site to remain online because it would be the site’s undoing. These people were into some pretty fucked up shit.
I wonder if it was an extension of the roleplaying he did on Reddit. He was so dedicated to this military persona and had the time to back it up with some research. I know this isnt the newest video, I'm catching up. But having been a fan since around like 2017. You're editing and oveall production style has gotten so insanely good. I feel like its so distinct and makes the videos so much more engaging and interesting.

The whole Milo death story sounds more like code to me as do his different characters. It reads like a movie script and I have to wonder if things like "gave his old scruffy cat to the little girl next door" is code for something, along with the birth and death dates. The cat thing and even Milo himself are such cliches and it's interesting that they take the time to mention giving "the cat" to the "next door neighbor" twice. Cue spoopy spy music.

"Angel 2-6" in the military translates to something like "Commander of Angel Company, Platoon 2" and would be of a "Sergeant" rank. As explained around 38:04 it's a position, not a name. My guess is Milo was likely "Angel 6" (meaning Captain of the "Angel" company). My guess is they started as a bunch of guys from the same platoon in Vietnam spreading into a larger organization.

Staying active while you are elderly is important I’ve noticed, all the elderly people I’ve met who work active jobs for a long time since they were younger are way healthier than others I’ve met. Milo is active he was also ex mil and an active soldier of fortune dudes a confirmed piece of shit but he was active and that kept his mind active. Doesn’t justify his actions it just explains why he was so coherent for someone his age despite his….. very offensive proclivities. My grandma and others who I know who worked as clerks or customer service are all severely mentally and physically ill. All of the elderly folks I’ve met,60 year old driver for ups I helped when I was a seasonal driver helper for 3 years(the other 2 years from his recommendation because he thought I was a hard worker unlike other people my age) dude could throw 100 pounds over his shoulder like a feather and had more energy than I did and was fit af(he chugged Mountain Dew and are gummy worms like a monster on breaks like wtf this dudes a monster). I think we can all Scoff at the effect of working out or working hard jobs but I’ve seen the effects of it and it’s honestly awe inspiring at how much it effects your health even if you eat unhealthy working out seems extremely important to human biology.

I almost didn’t watch this because out of the numerous other LCQP videos I’ve seen, they all had the exact same info. I was pleasantly surprised to get halfway through the video and see that the mystery had deepened! Great job @Nexpo, this was a deep dive and didn’t disappoint. I’m probably getting a few details wrong as it’s been a few months since I’ve looked at a video about it

My initial thought is that Lake City Quiet Pills would be a pretty blatant reference to bullets. Lake City is a massive gov-owned ammo plant in the US, they make a lot of the military's ammo. If you ever look at the headstamp on a cartridge and see a big ol' LC, it's from the Lake City plant.

So let me get this straight. A man born in the 1930's, joining the army at the age of 14, has done some questionable acts such as trying to strangle someone with a piano wire, was still alive and kicking, not only working in IT at the age of 79 but also being an active reddit user, making Animaniacs references in his comments. Yeah, totally not fake.
The thing for me though is it goes sooo far back. 1999?! Its weird to me that the whole lore of it all was so established back then, while the 'inciting incident' was so recent and complicated. Which also took place in a disturbing subreddit people arent exactly going to share with their friends.
Like for an ARG, this is incredibly well done. Its almost implausibly well constructed and patiently executed.
I agree with you but I have met some people in their 70s on the Internet but it's mostly RUclips which is very believable, I've Also seen a 55 year old RUclipsr (Atomic Shrimp) who used to work at IT but quit because his RUclips videos (he makes variety content) got really popular, honestly a 50 year old still working at IT is much more believe then someone who's nearly 80 still working at IT, also I do believe it's possible that a 50 year old (Milo was "50" during the 1990s) watched animaniacs when it aired and loved it but it's highly unlikely, it's much more believable if he made refrences to some cartoon made in the 30s instead (I've seen some 50 year olds on RUclips, Twitter, etc make refrences to shows made in the 60s which is very plausible as that's what they grew up with)

@@TankEngine75 the issue is that the internet is quite a bit older now than it was in 09. the eternal September began some 30 years ago, so a 50 year old today would have barely been 20 when mass access to the internet first started: a 80 year old in 2009 would have had to have been 60. big difference.

I know exactly what the page at 43:28 is supposed to be! I've unfortunately forgotten who originally made this and what it was called (this was in late 1990s), but basically, someone wrote a program that you could deploy on your own web page that would generate random email addresses and links that would lead to the same page. The idea was that bots that harvested email addresses for spammers would have their database flooded with bogus addresses, and get caught in a loop of fetching that stuff over and over. That's why the link to the page says "Don't use these email contacts"; the thing is supposed to be a bait for the bots and not exactly intended for human readers. As said, I don't remember who originally made the thing, but it was open source and it was widely discussed among the anti-spam community at the time.

This whole thing is really mysterious, the urls weird name and the mystery behind Milo's identity and age. All your videos are really engaging, unsettling, creepy and of course intriguing and I respect that. x
I always figured his 'name' being 'Milo' was itself a sort of joke and cover, a reference to First Lieutenant Milo Minderbinder from Catch-22, who was also an amoral business man that skirted the various realities of the modern world with his unflappable thinking.
Separately if you've never read Catch-22 dear lord do so, it's sincerely in the running for the most amusing book ever written. It's like a War Novel co-written by Lewis Carroll & Douglas Adams.

but yeah it really does seem like the reference to six and twos is a very common thread within the lcqp story, and, of course, just the title of the book itself. i cant recall if 6 had any significance in the story of catch-22 so i'll definitely have to reread it in the next couple days and come back to this video!

That’s a good way of putting it. Though the accidental-murder-then-suicide of two main characters was intense. Part of the point of the book, though, WAS the intensity of war
Milo constantly stating his age and his odd past are red flags. In my opinion i think he was some middle aged man who might have been in the army ay some point possibly but was definitely someone that enjoyed reading about the wars and would talk about it any time he could to give himself credibility. His age, i think he stated it multiple times to cover up his tracks of who he really was. He was into CP so it would make sense.
Seems like these people wanted to be a part of something more than they were, so they ended up creating this narrative for themselves to be seen as important individuals, when really they were just low life child predators.
It's incredible how long you were able to follow this whole event. Usually by now most video essays are just speculating. Good stuff, keep it up!
Angel 26 sounds like the callsign for a military flight. I worked in airfield management in the Air Force so have heard pretty much every callsign and that's the first thing I think of when I hear it.
Edit -also, JP-4 is jet fuel used by the Air Force until the mid 90s.

I’m only about 7 minutes in, but just wanted to comment my appreciation that you took the time to have the captions corrected, rather than just using RUclips’s AutoCaptions feature, which does a decent job admittedly, but also needs a lot of work to actually be accurate.
It really makes a difference for the hearing impaired and allows your content to be enjoyed correctly by so many more people.

Beyond the pretty obvious fact that we didn't have a 79yo ringleader of a hitmen network using a morally despicable image share site, it's still interesting to see such a niche of a small online community, wondering what the actual some of these people were up to and what the unsolved details even are.
Old Internet (and early Reddit I guess had a similar feeling, just like the first social networks) had a very unique existence.
It was the vanguard of tech, yet it was so much primitive compared to today tech that feels way older than 20 years.
The volume of content and media produced nowadays would basically be impossible to filter without what the modern social networks do to create your own bubble, but it's something of a loss to me anyway
One thing I always wondered about this mystery is why professional mercenaries would hide messages in HTML comments that are publicly viewable. I mean yes, it's unlikely someone would discover it, but it's just out there in plain sight. Wouldn't it make more sense to use encryption? If they can get fake passports and all that stuff, why can't they figure out how to do secure communication?
Let alone on the main domain which otherwise display a blank page... like who tf would do that.

The OP's account is deleted but in the wayback machine the user is Zaasakokwaan. I checked his profile and I didn't find anything noteworthy about his typing style or hobbies. I don't have enough interest in the case to do a deep dive but it might be worth consideration.

the biggest thing that gives the guy away as not actually 79 y/o is his lack of double spacing between sentences. he would have learned how to type on a typewriter and, without a doubt, would double space between a period and the start of a sentence. i’m only 25 and it’s how my mom taught me to type on a computer bc it’s how she learned on a typewriter.
His military background and whatever work he was still doing as a liaison would have meant he was trained in modern tech like the internet. This was a giant thing in intelligence in the 90s and even the old guys were tech literate.
He would have been basically trained on how to use the internet as it grew, on an internet well above what civilians had, well into his 40s when he retired and went into contract work.

To the best of my knowledge, there's only one mall in Adam's County, PA located in Gettysburg. Some industrious person can easily track down previous property holders on that land and find if there was a "Milo" who ever lived there. The VFW may also be able to provide listings of anyone from that area who served in the mentioned conflicts.

@@kevin8029 Certainly possible but there were only maybe 2-3 farms located in the lots purchased for the mall construction. Even if Milo is a pseudonym, it shouldn't be too hard to track down the families that owned the properties and eliminate anyone who doesn't at least resemble the information given throughout Milo's posting history.
@@LucasAndrowick I really like this idea. People get caught up in investigating the online side of things (even P.I.s too, these days) that simple "boots on the ground" and paper archival searches get forgotten, especially with things unlikely to have been digitized like very old ownership records. I know when I tried to look up my family history of people who were in my area and the places they lived 80% of it wasn’t online, but instead in county archival records. Hell, I even found one person in a random book in my library’s reference section when I wasn’t even looking for that subject specifically, just general information on the area for a university class I had back then.
@@doubtful_seer And the archivists are normally more than happy to have someone requesting the records that they painstakingly keep. I think the only people that regularly use this route, or at least commonly use it, are lawyers when it comes to property disputes and survey discrepancies.
@@LucasAndrowick as someone who was studying to become an archivist/preservationist, I can confirm that it honestly was an unfortunately rare, but nice, day when we had more than one or two people requesting records at the place I was volunteering and interning at. Especially the photographic section where I was focusing most of my time. Larger cities are more active, of course, but still relatively quiet compared to the rest of the library, museum, or county/state offices they may be part of.

We all know about LCQP, but when it’s Nexpo, we find out we did not in fact know everything. The lengths Nexpo goes to, to give us the ACTUAL full story, are absolutely incredible
IMO nexpo had it correct from the very beginning and other than the last 30 seconds or so of the hour long video, he may have created something stating a "belief" then going back on it but, as a bullshitter myself, we recognize our own. More so when we attuned to a potential liar-involved mystery.
As for the guy killed in Dubai, who knows and who cares. As said in the film " casino" someone's always listening or watching or yea. So if people are on some belief you whacked God knows who over God knows what then DON'T bring down the entire shit showering shenanigans by running your mouth about the TONS of money your making over here that's not broken at all but running like a fucking Swiss watch on Hitler's fucking trains!

my grandparents were born in the 20s/30s, had my mum who is currently in her mid-50s. she Loved pinky and the brain, so i could definitely see someone that age knowing the show if they have younger relatives? milo apparently had none though, so unless he was super into cartoons/animation it isnt likely. 2-6 would be about the right age though
None of my grandparents ever saw an episode of it and they had grandchildren. It definitely seems more like someone around my bf's age or a little older larping as an old guy.
