Epitaph Records is an artist-first indie label founded in Los Angeles by Bad Religion guitarist, Brett Gurewitz. Early releases from a variety of punk heavyweights helped launch the 90s punk explosion. Along the way, Epitaph has grown and evolved creatively while sticking to its mission of helping real artists make great recordings on their own terms.

Wanna say, I feel absolutely everything said about Discourse is dead. It goes to show how on edge Dan was even talking about the lyrics, cause of how some people may react to even the thought of talking to someone civilly who they disagree with. If Daryl Davis as an African American can get over 200 kkk to leave the Klan and racism through peaceful and civil conversation, we can hands down have a civil conversation with someone with different views and values. It's a privilege to even exist in a country where we can have civil conversations with people who you disagree with. The fact people (Mainly my fellow leftist) piss away that opportunity is a big reason why society is sooo volatile now.

@@_notofthisearth oh I'd even say MOST of the metal audience is conservative. I feel like that's mostly due to the fact that metal is a pretty "old" genre of music. The thing about most of the newer metal bands is, they themselves often sit right at this weird spot, where older people still like their music but younger people do so, too and thus their audience is kinda split politically.
I remember avenged sevefold putting out a statement in support of BLM and the audience went wild because of that. That's where a lot of the "new age" metal bands like architects, BMTH, etc. sit. There's a reason the meme about the 40/50 year old white guy asking for metallica at the super bowl half time show exists.

All people have different tastes, if you do not like this, just do not listen to it, the good or the bad, the beautiful or the ugly depends on the individual perception, you may believe that you are beautiful, but in reality you may seem to others ugly, that's how it is.
Goodbye to some old fans, and welcome to the millions of new fans around the world 🔥

The previous 3 albums are my favourite pieces of music of all time, but the new album really bores me :'(. They deserve every bit of succes thats coming their way, but this album wasnt it for me.

That's fine. Tbh what I actually loved about this album is that it felt like a breath of fresh air, some songs I didn't like at first but definitely grew on me the more times I listened to them.

This album is soooooooo dreadfully boring. These songs are so repetitive and just... Bad. I hate this album and that sucks because I love these guys.

Honestly, I don't think they were ready for this album. If Tom was alive then things would be different but Dan needed to stick with what they know and get the ground back under them first. Holy Hell was a very good album. But following Lost Together and All Our Gods it failed to deliver... FTTWTE fails in places even Here and Now was successful at... But we're just digestive tracks. What do we know...

I love Architects but aside from a few songs, I'm not a fan of the new album. If this is a sound they're keeping, I wish them luck moving forward and they still have my respect but I shall be moving onto someone else.

So weird to see them all sit there so peacefully. Especially Tom with a mic in his hand...

The album is OK at best. Whenever a heavy band bring synth and pop into it, it always feels like they've taken the easy route. Thats what this album feels like, the easy route.

I strongly disagree because they even said they could've easily just pumped out another Holy Hell, but instead they decided to experiment. This is them expanding their horizons and I as a person can appreciate the art they created.

@@MrStricken007 I mean they aren't gonna say "yeah this was an easy album to make" They've gotta sell it! But thats the beauty of it all, some people will love this album, some gonna hate it.

@@hangmencrowley I disagree as well, but I like that you stated some will love/some will hate it. I've been with them since Hollow Crown and really enjoyed this record. It's a breath of fresh air. I mainly play metal guitar and it's gets old writing the same style of riffs. They're great sounding riffs, but it just gets old from a creative standpoint.

@@hangmencrowley Definitely fair. They do incredible work and I just personally am obsessed with them as a band. Especially with the personal connection we have with them because they lost Tom on this journey so their music is definitely not the same as before without him.

It will be cool if they tell why they stop playing metalcore and start making shitty pop...

    • @hangmencrowley
      @hangmencrowley 3 года назад +2

I mean, the reasons are obvious. People grow up and realise poppy music sells better. I agree its a shame, as I love that heavy metalcore feel as well. We'll find another band to take that space though!

@@hangmencrowley It definitely isn’t Pop. Impermanence, discourse and extinction are quite heavy.
They’ve explored their sound more, which after so many albums, is so needed. Not everything needs to be screaming and breaking down.
While She Sleeps are banging out heavy tunes right now.
