- My friends and I got into need for speed rivals in 2023 and it is amazing. For a game from the year 2013 I had more fun playing this game than the modern need for speed games.

At one point I had almost of the modern nfs games and I always played nfs rivals. The car selection of mainly high end super cars (and hypercars, but we don’t talk about the Venom GT) and the pursuits/car combat had me hooked on this game since the beginning.
And being able to play both sides adds so much replay ability
I played this game on PC. I had a love & hate relationship with it. Right off the bat, it was locked to 30 FPS and there were no settings to change it. I had to go on RUclips to find a guide on how to increase it to 60 FPS by changing a line of code in the game. When I made the game 60 FPS, it was so much better. The game felt faster and smoother.
Sometimes, the game would randomly stop when you drove on highways. The map would stop loading, and you car would freeze on the road. You could still NOS and activate pursuit tech, but the game wouldn't close. I had to install a small program called SuperF4 to close the game that way, because it wouldn't close any other way other than restarting your PC. When you closed your game, your progress would be gone. I never drive on those roads now because of how often the game stops on those roads. Imagine not wanting to drive on a road because it will glitch on you.
I also hated host migration. Every time you were in the middle of a pursuit, the game would start glitching and then it would show you the host migration screen. I don't know if these issues also happened on XBOX or PlayStation.
But on the other hand, I also loved this game. I loved the cutscenes, I loved the cars. I loved how the police cars had 3 versions for each car. I loved the cutscene that would play when you got a new car. The story itself wasn't that great but it did the job. It was like Hot Pursuit, but open world. I liked the DLC cars, even though I had to pay for them with real money which I wasn't a fan of. I played this game for years until I unlocked all the pursuit techs and performance upgrades for each individual car. I still play it sometimes every now and again.
Overall, this game was a bit of a mixed bag for me, let down by the performance issues. I would give this game like a 6/10.

I originally played it on the ps4 which luckily did not have the load bug and I have never been one to notice 30 vs 60 frames on older games like this (modern games is a different story) but there are still issues of bugs and disconnects which I didn't talk about in the video as I don't think they where worth mentioning.
But yes the cutscenes are still great the monotone voice in the story I still like earning and unlocking stuff feels more rewarding than a lot of modern games. Over all just a fun time good game to go back to. And I can agree with the 6/10 not a masterpiece lots of bugs but a stupid fun time.

Ngl, I absolutely loved the 2012 most wanted-.. Keyword "Loved" yeah the game bugged and got rid of all my progress after I completed it, after that I tossed it cause losing 2 - 3 days of progress absolutely ruined it for me.
i always maxed the starter car, got turbo and shockwave and just ran faster then anyone thought that car could go

I've been playing NFS Rivals alot in the past few years I've gotten so good that, when I play multiplayer now, all the players want to chase me but I'm always going 280MPH in my Koenigsegg 1 😂😂

Does the multiplayer still work
The thing you need to get a hold of is the controls, some cars have TRASH controls (Like the second car in the racing career). I feel like you should be able to fully control yourself when you're being chased by 20 police NPCs.
@@Taganoym Never thought about this too much but I generally avoid muscle cars because I dont like how they handle.
I hope the next Need for speed game goes a different direction than the previous underground attempts

Maybe I'm not far enough into the game yet, but how are PC servers rigged? The most I've seen is atrocious connection to where everyone's effectively teleporting around, but that's it.

The online for PC was always trash I wish the net code was like hp 2010 then this game would've actually had great online gameplay

Playing this game with the 60 fps fix and rivals+ mod is a game changer. Leagues better then vanilla

I've tried nfs heat, payback in recent years. The open world Felt lifeless, and was not a fan of the gameplay loops on the modern forza games.
Installed this good old rivals i remember running on low settings back in the days. Cranked the settings to max, used the frostmod manager to get uncapped fps.
The gameplay is just alot more fun in these old games and alot more interactive.
This game still has a soul. Where all the new ones are just big industry putting out garbage to make money
