More Time, More Dimes - Will Levis Week 3 Film Breakdown

  • Will Levis was INCREDIBLY accurate in week 3-! Outside his signature "one awful turnover", that is. And the 9 times he ended up on his back, behind a porous offensive line.
    Can we get him some protection, so that we can see that brilliant arm talent shine through?
    As for the offensive line, I paid special attention to how each of the OL played, and what the titans are doing to help. They gave JC Latham a lot of help, but they need to stop so that they can move that help over to the right side for the twin terrors that are Nicholas Petit-Friere and/or Jalen Duncan

    This was essentially an offensive line film breakdown lol. Terrible unit right now, not sure what Levis is supposed to do. Maybe as their schedule gets easier they'll show improvement, but they're not giving Levis a chance right now. Callahan has had some questionable play calling too, hopefully he'll improve there too.
    If anything, patience is the word with Tennessee right now. I think they'll be a good second-half of the season team, but by then it'll probably be too late for any post season hopes. Great breakdown once again.

    • @pbfg
      @pbfg  19 часов назад +1

      No, because very few QBs are as accurate as Levis, and very few QBs are as rushed as he is.
      Levis was super accurate under constant pressure. From a clean pocket, he's an elite thrower. Processing, mobility, and playmaking matter, but he hits targets with the best of them.

      @@pbfg Accuracy is only one component of being a successful qb. If he doesn’t learn how to read defenses more consistently, be able to throw on the run, and get some freaking pocket awareness, he will be relegated to a back up qb at best.

    Blain Bishop a long time safety who made 4 pro bowls and 3 all pro teams broke this pick 6 down on his morning radio show in Nashville yesterday. And his explanation of this play just shows us how to us non pro observers who do not play pro ball at this position get it wrong. I’m like you. Dumb throw. But coach Callahan in the post game didn’t fault Levis to much. I didn’t get it. Then the next day I watched Bishop explanation of the play that blew me away. For one thing he said Levis or any QB throwing this play DOES NOT EVER look to another receiver. He says they just don’t have time and they play is never designed to look off the defender. He said you lock on immediately. Go and listen to the take to see why he says Levis did everything right on the play. But also what he did wrong.

      @@pbfg Dude - what ? “Slander!” Did I misunderstand what you said? Then just let me know. I’ll go back and listen. Are you really that sensitive to come at me that way? Was it the “nonprofessional,” word I used which I included myself in. Look dude, I watch just as much football as you do. All I meant was we non pro players will not understand all the nuance of a play. Does this offend you? Really? Grow up! You are one of two of my favorite guys I watch to break down film. I really appreciate your take on Levis. I think it’s well thought out and takes in important aspects of a young QB trying to be a professional QB. So saying what you said to me really sucks. I never meant to slander you. But I’m shocked you used that word. It really pisses me off ! Look - at the 10:44 mark in the video I quote you … “ If your going to throw that curl your going to AT LEAST HAVE TO LOOK OFF TO LULL THE CORNER TO SLEEP……. “ Now forgive me for misunderstanding your meaning. I apologize. Can you please tell me why you’re so sensitive ? I didn’t say you were wrong. In fact I thought the way you did. After hearing Bishop I learned something I had not known about a play like the one we are talking about. That’s all. And if your going to think what we both thought about the play was a better understanding then an all pro defensive back that’s on you. Dude , I thought we were having fun here ?

He did the same hero-ball attempt diving throw that turns into a turnover in back to back games (doesn’t learn important lessons well or quickly).
