CW SK How is he wilfully ignorant? If he doesn't know something, he often asks questions to find out and gain knowledge. (Whether it sticks or not is another question, but he at least tries to better himself.)

Dan was great for West. Everyone was super lazy about producing new and fun video content until he (and Jason) got there. Now I'm sure we're back to just Unprofessional Fridays. Or, if we are very lucky, another Ranking of Fighters in 8 months.

There's something surreal about watching someone virtually operate this massive and complex piece of machinery and having to explain to someone how to change a tire.

Apéritif 420 I know but for real. people feel like a college education is a must when quite honestly they're wasting a ton of money to be sad. Mike Rowe is a huge proponent of skilled trades and forgoing traditional college food you're a more skill oriented person. and honestly how many business grads are going to be working at chipotle in 20 years? probably 75%

Hey no sweat man. Who knows though, you might be right as well. It does state that the exact years are just a estimate. And unfortunately for me I happen to fall under the Millennial umbrella, therefore I can make fun of them since I'm also apart of it :P I have no qualms with Dan but his common sense questions irk me sometimes since they are disruptive to podcasts and videos. But hey, everyone grows up in different cultures with different knowledge passed on to them.

IsoMentric geologist here. His knowledge of the subject is actually pretty representative of the general public, sadly.

I only took *one* Geology class in college: Geology for Engineers (one step up from 'Rocks for Jocks") and even I have hate rising.

I have went back on forth on whether I enjoy Dan and his antics. He doesn't anger me, I know a lot of what he does is to get a rise out of people. But since his first run with GB East and him being there permanently now, I don't really like his fit here. There's nothing wrong with ignorance but sadly all the videos are just divulging into talks they don't know enough about, the games aren't getting enough focus and when they try and get into topics like this it also just isn't that funny. That's the biggest problem.
I really noticed it with the Mega Man series. I loved Vinnyvania and Alex and Austin always made the videos fun, helped Vinny and were entertaining. The last Mega Man with Dan, I felt bad for Alex cause he couldn't focus when he needed to and couldn't get help when he was looking for it. Plus the chatter just wasn't funny. The same thing happened during the Star Dew Valley stream. Hopefully they find a better rhythm or change things up, cause this stuff is just kind of boring content and I find myself just rolling my eyes at Dan. At least Jeff and Brad in SF had a way of kind of mocking him to make it funny

Dan is incredibly willfully, almost militantly ignorant about almost everything, and he's also incredibly charismatic (according to the giant bomb crew) with experience writing (even if his writing is terrible) about video games. so point being he managed to charisma his way in
CW SK Dan is probably smarter than you and definitely more entertaining to listen to.
Chemistry with people. Dan is the type of guy who can get along with pretty much anybody because he is a simple man who loves being the 'heel' of anything he is doing. He wrote at least two books, one about an air-force gator and the other about dealing with anxiety, so he clearly knows how to write to a point that is publishable.
And by the way, when one of the QUOTATION MARKS merits END QUOATION MARKS you have is 'video games', then you probably should work in the video game industry. I'm not saying he's a god or anything or isn't a ditz in a lot of ways, but it's really hard to find someone who knows video games and does well on a camera at the same time.
