Where do you screw them together...they just don't rest and hang on one another by gravity

Most pallets are built similar, but not the same, so it will be difficult for me to provide assembly information.

Wood *pallets*. A crate holds things inside. A pallet holds things on top. Most of them rot out very quickly, and the deck boards aren't strong - lots of deck boards on pallets will not support the weight of a person. What I don't understand is why you don't use the pallet stringers as... well... stair stringers. Rotate all those pallets 90 degrees so you get a solid plane of wood along all the stringers, and they'll be a hell of a lot stronger.
