An elevated pad/rug or blanket for the puppy;-) All that work, nice! but the finishing touch is helping keep the animal dry and warm, soft bedding for the pup

Dogs are not meant to be closed off from family. They should be part of the family and able to wander around and not put in a corner locked up. If you were a dog, would you like to be locked up in a small area!
If I were a dog, I would stay from people like you. Dogs slept in dog house for a long time, they use to protect the home from the outside for years but people like you turn them into little house birds.

I'm hoping this was just a demonstration of creative building skills and not a real dog house because dogs want nothing more than to be with the ones they love: their owners. If the former, thanks for this demo...I learnt a lot from it, especially the 1:1 sand:cement mix to make the very dark silky mortar.

No.1.CreativeCementideas hopefully you always have sun and 20°C or more. Cold weather and rain can also break that concrete. What happen to the dog if that happens? Why did you make a roof with concrete in the 1st place? Is it because of the sun? Contries with snow cant build like that.
But your skills are awesome and if we only add some sticks in that little house we probably can have our chickens during our summer time👍👍

Nice and creative. Only one problem with the construction. House or dog kennel needs to be higher then the rained finish ground height .Or the inside floor height of the kennel could be raised to fix the problem. ❤❤❤❤❤ the job👍👍👍👍

When laying stones in the garden, you do it with a solid base of gravel and on top of that, you place a layer of grit into which you set the stones. Sand is placed between the stones. This allows rainwater to drain and prevents the area from becoming uneven over time. The idea with the small house and plants is not really appealing, but that's a matter of taste. In the end, it looks uncomfortable, and I somehow feel sorry for the dog. But most likely, no dog will ever sleep here.

Love the brick work, etc., but pls know that every part of the Sago palm (front right corner) is deadly poisonous to dogs if ingested. My vet also has a warning photo of one in the lobby.

Concrete floors are always cold. Floor must be wood and the gap between floor and concrete will stop rising damp

I love the idea of using cheap/recycled materials. And I love the creativity in your design. Using the space to grow plants not only makes the whole thing look better but it also utilizes otherwise dead space for food production. The next step could be using aquaponics to grow duckweed, as duckweed is an excellent supplement to the dog's diet. And dogs love it! I love the idea of using the bricks as a floor as the air pockets create some insulation qualities to protect the dog from the cold ground and at the same time keep the dog cold in hot weather. The same thing to the mortar walls as they function as a solar heat battery, capturing the heat during the day and releasing it during the night.
My only concern is that the mortar is in direct contact with the wood. I am concerned that the wood might rot quite quickly. Some sort of water barrier would have been appropriate there. Either paint the wood or add a plastic sheet or bitumen. Anyway, the design signals great care for your dog. I love that! Good work. Thank you for the inspiration.

Clever design, but I wouldn't expect it to last too long.
Pallet wood has also been treated to prevent termites, its durability I think is quite good, thank you for your interest

Poor dog ....dogs need more room and less concrete I hope u don't keep a dog in the tiny space if u do re evaluate if u need a dog cause a dog is not meant to be locked up in a tiny space by himself would u like it if u were the dog probably not.remember if it's not good for u it's not good for your dog

Although you did a good job. There is ONE dangerous thing there for your pup. The sago palm plant right on the side. One of the most toxic plants for pets. I almost lost my dog to one. Please get rid of it or you may be spending thousands of dollars and still your dog may not overcome the toxic plant. Good Luck.

Va bene la costruzione in cemento come lo sono tutte le case ma il cane non deve stare sui mattoni o sul cemento ma ci vuole una pedana di legno con stracci o una brandina in modo che il corpo del cane non poggi in terra.
