The image of Metropolis used on the base of the stand is real. It's from Action Comics 1051. The art is by Rafa Sandoval and Matt Herms.
Yeaaa the filter used and downscaled for the base makes it look weird, all the details kinda blend in when it's that small

Going for the SSR Supes instead, I think the SSR is more so the Alex Ross style anyways and that’s more up my alley.

I am getting the SSR Alex Ross Superman and Batman as well as all of S-Hero’s DC animated figures as I am a big fan of Alex Ross and well as all of the DC animated series.

@@JustinsCollectionno lol. Closest he looks to this in the comics is in TDKR and how Ed McGinnis draws Supes but overall this specific look is only in Superman TAS and Justice League Unlimited which makes sense considering they are set in the same universe

It looks cool but in my mind I think the cartoony eyes would have looked better, maybe. Now he feels sort of uncanny. Like, the more detailed eyes makes the tiny legs and gigachad jaw stand out more or something.

For the eyes sure, the accuracy would look weird, but even the blue should be darker and the red parts should match except for the trunk that should be darker and the yellow parts should be more pale as well.

I believe the dark trunks could be replicating how in stas, he has predominantly black trunks with red shading. compromising for a dark red, although it looks odd I think because the cape is also dark, if everything was dark except the logo it could look very striking or keep the mismatch but darken the bright red so it isn't so drastic.

Thanks for another great review. I have mine displayed with the neutral sculpt and I can’t stop looking at it. I have lots of 1/6 Superman figures and this is one of my favorites. With the news of the HONO Iron Man (which I preordered as soon as it was solicited), it is a great time to be a 1/6 comic figure collector.

I have a custom Supergirl from the animated series. I made it using a head sculpture from a 1/6 statue. It will match perfectly with this figure that I did order too.

This is great. Being a Mondo 12" collector, this is the direction I've wanted them to go in. I picked up the Mondo Batman a few years ago, and although it looks great, i always wanted to see what a fabric outfit would look like.

My biggest problem with him is his eyes, he looks high thanks to the eyelids being too low. Not to mention the color difference between his boots and symbol when compared to his trunks and cape. Almost forgot to mention the lack of mobility on his ankles that are absurd imo.
Fair enough. The trade off with the swappable boots I am totally fine with vs a figure that cannot stand for shit

Attractive figure and the base is very nice. But personally, I avoid figures with fabric capes and especially a full fabric uniform. I just think they too often look cheap and aren't well fitted. Plue, a cape without the yellow 'S' is just a red bedsheet.

Biggest problem with the trunks and Boots don't match. Either they should of made the trunks brighter to match the boots or vice-versa.

I, personally, love the figure & would dearly love to have him in my collection… The boots I’d airbrush to match the darker tone of the trunks & cape, whilst leaving the chest insignia as a nice, vibrant, bright red, so it stands out & becomes an instant draw for a viewers eye, when looking at him; a focal point, if you will. 🥰💙❤️

To my eye the blue and the red of the boots and symbol are closer to STAS while the trunks and cape are closer to JL/JLU. The yellow seems off for each though.

This looks great, I might be misremembering but I would like to see the S symbol on the back of his cape….but other than that the eyes looking off by a degree, this figure looks great

Really like the look of this figure! Definitely like the justice league/ adventures of Superman animated series. The bent metal accessorie i can't help but see it looks identical to a mouth guard! I actually thought @Justins Collection was going to see if it fits in his mouth 😉😜😂!!. All jokes aside. The base is a bit meh for me. But the design and look of the figure is a great look and interpretation of the animated series. I'll be getting this figure. Ngl it is a lil uncanny that he’s a blend between cartoony and realistic. Kinda like the polar express mocap characters. And I kinda get wanting to add color and whites to the he’s cuz I do wonder why other characters had color and whites in their eyes but some characters like Superman didn’t

He only thing I don’t like is the stand. It’s looks waaaay to ai generated. I can say this becuase I have this figure.
9:10 I have him with the angry face with his arms tensed up his legs in a squatting pose with the flying feet so it looks like he is shooting out his lasers while clashing. I have it fighting my DC super man

I prefer they made the eyes more realistic. After all the detail they made with the knuckle and skin shading, just have balack line and dot for the eyes just felt wrong. Kudos with the realism of the bended beam. Think of it as an upgraded to 3d version of the animated series. After you mention the Dark Knight, it would be wonderful if they also made the Batcycle and especially the Batmobile. Can you Imagine if they maintain the level of realism, shading or weathering to the vehicles. Perhaps i is t just me that growing older, that expect a bit realism from correct proportioned figure based on animation series.

This and Jazzinc's upcoming batman remind me of the btas artwork from mondo, the characters rendered within a more 3d yet still sharp and angular style. This superman's eyes remind me of the stas finale where he goes beast mode on darkseid and they go normal for a minute. I really like the choices here as going with cloth kind of eliminates the possibility of looking identical to the show, that's what mondo is for, no wrinkles it stays in the same shape (joker is one that benefits from it) and the cel shading. but for 1/6 scale I lean towards this. mondo looks amazing but I wish they were 1/12 scale because I don't have the room to dedicate such room for jointed figures.

This looks like a realistic interpretation of Superman. However... because the source material is in 2D, they made it look like a 3Dver which is not accurate but I think is done decently though I am not a fan. Great video.

Superman's trunks in the show were portrayed as beign darker than the rest of the outfit. I believe the cape should be lighter to match the simbol and boots rather.

You just gotta hafta admire and salute the Chinese industriousness and spirit of capitalism, for unlicensed item this figure looks outstanding. The suit and cape just look great. Overall it's of course highly inaccurate (and JLU animation is not my cup of tea, I actually kinda loathe it) but they can work this out into a generic 1/6 Superman figure.
If they want to develop more figures from the animated version, they should really do Supergirl: Legion of Super-heroes. Supergirl, Superman and Batman all look great in that movie.
