Fun fact: The bullet detail in the SCAR mags are not painted in those magazines because they are not bullets. The magazine follower has a molded bullet shape in them so the real cartridges will find it´s place when reloading as these are double stack magazines. Great video, thanx!!!

I finally realized where the hot toys angry laser eyes head sculpt came from. In Man of Steel, the scene where Superman flies into Zods ship, and he says “if you destroy this ship, you destroy Krypton” then Superman goes “Krypton had its chance” then he makes this exact face ✌🏻👍🏻

The pistol is a 1911 as some people have pointed out, but I don't know if anyone pointed out that it's actually the pistol that took his parents' lives.

Visited my local comic shop, and low and behold, they got three of them in. And since I have no DC Hot Toys, this box set made perfect sense. Got mine today. Might get the three party head sculpts of Superman. Your right, the Alternate head sculpt of him using his heat vision does look like the one when Superman fought Steppenwolf.

Justin, great review. Thank you sir. The pistol is a 1911. The biggest aesthetic differences between a hipower and a 1911 is: 1911 has a grip safety in the back, ejection port is more squared and topward, and has a 45 degree angle grip. Hi-powers have a more vertical grip, no grip safety, and tapers a little towards the end of the barrel which will show an indention about 3/4 the way down the frame. And the ejection port is mostly on the side, and is more rounded and oval. 1911 shoots a .45 caliber round vs 9mm(which you probably can't tell in a toy, but the 1911 will have a thinner magazine because it holds half the rounds of a hi-power).
And lastly. Toy companies almost ALWAYS use the 1911 over the hi-power

It’s a 1911, and easy way to tell is the grip angle and the trigger is different on the high power. Very similar but seeing them side by side you can see the differences pretty clearly.

So excited for this! But yea, very disappointed with Superman headsculpts...I have all the previous Cavill Superman figures. I had a hope they'd change them till the last second... gonna use a custom neutral head, have it ready for a year already lol

My 2 pack finally arrived this week, very happy with it except the magazine on the rifle is slightly crooked and how Batman’s leg articulation sucks, I’m very into posing my figures dynamically and his legs just don’t do anything at all🤦🏼♂️

You absolutely hit the nail on the head with this review, gonna pass on this pack because not only is space immensely limited I already have the justice league version of supes, which i absolutely adore the vibrant classic colors. And i recently snagged me a suicide squad batman, which is my favorite suit design and i can't see myself parting with either! Still awesome to see this review, much appreciated!

I just receive my copy of the Justice League Snyder Cut Knightmare Batman & Black suited Superman from Sideshow Collectibles this week. It's awesome figure despite the small flaws of it, but I don't own the Knightmare Batman BVS version though. Great review.

Is there any chance you can do a small tutorial on how to swap out the original cape to the custom one?
Oh it’s pretty brutal, you have to kind of yank it out and thread the new one through the holes. I believe Deanknight has a video on how to do it

I have the third party supes and have purchased a new knightmare Batman only from HK. Any thoughts on the differences of these two Black Superman versions, besides the part in the hair?

Amazing! Glad I have this on PO! I think Batman is on a new body as from what I remember the OG knightmare Batman did not have ratchet joints. Still an improvement! I need those 3rd party headculpts for Superman! Where did you get them?

I don’t understand why the hair would have been sculpted to part on the wrong side, yet you said it’s a reused sculpt. It seems like they sculpted the head over again but with the hair in the wrong direction. Or am I missing something? 🧐
No what I'm saying is they re-used it from Batman Vs Superman where it was parted to that side. That is not accurate to JL
@@JustinsCollection Hmmm… I’ve been looking at pics and other pieces. It looks like the Prime1 1:2 scale black costume statue even has it parted on the same side as this HotToys piece. Looks to even switch sides during some scenes in the film. 🤔

The suit was the exact same from bvs and zsjl. They even had to glue it in some parts because it was falling apart
Some shots he was wearing the Justice League cowl...
I am suprised they have upgraded both figures (so they should, but hot toys of yesterday wouldn't have)
Still a few annoying issues, but overall an amazing two pack. Plus knightmare batman for me, is the best rendition of batman I've seen. Even a nudge over the dark knight comic. Great review Justin.

How in the world did you get a hold of these figures when they haven't even released them yet?
They have, Hot Toys is a Hong Kong based company. I assume you live in the United States. Your suppliers like Sideshow import them to you. In Hong Kong they are released first as that is their actual home market. I get mine from there

I wish HT took their time to actually fix their Superman model and making a new head, it feels cheap when it's pretty much BvS face model again, when in the movie his hair is different.
Now what gets me the most is the fact that HT didn't made any announcememt about a possible Darkseid, or even Steppenwolf, figure. Dude, I undestand jumping Steppenwolf (even tho a figure could be awesome), but jumping Darkseid is dumb.

@@JustinsCollection ok I have it but I found the paint to be way too flat. The ko seems to have a different paint app that looks to work better with the body.
I’m probably going to sell off Superman,so I can I buy a different Hot Toy on my wishlist. The main reason I purchased the set was for Knightmare Batman, and the price of the 2 pack was cheaper than the secondary market.
