You guys inspire me to keep getting out, even in not so great weather. Looked cold, and not too fun, but it’s always great exercise and great to see what the hills are like year round. Loved seeing the viaduct with the mist and with the light! And I always love seeing the landscape and the old stone walls/fences. See you again soon!! 👍☀️☀️☀️
A lovely view of the viaduct when the mist cleared. Yeah, the constant crappy weather gets to you after a while, I think a few of us in the UK get a touch of S.A.D. after a while. Can't wait for spring. I noticed yesterday evening when I was out for a walk that the evenings are getting a little lighter already. Seeing the littering up there reminds me I need to take a rubbish bag out with me when I do the popular hills. Last year up Ingleborough people had left sticky pop bottles, I had to put them in my pack- not nice.
Loved the opening of the video Steve with the viaduct 😊 We loved the Dales 30 videos A great hike despite the weather. Number 11 well done 👏 Shame you wasnt feeling it. Hope you're ankle is ok now. Have a great weekend Morgs Jo and Boo 🐕 ❤
Wow looked a bit grim up there mate. A few too many people for my liking like you said. I love the way Karen just cracks on with it. Hats off to you both. Keep at it. Best wishes from us down here in the West Country. 👍🏻🚶🏻♂️🚶♀️
A crap day for the weather we are in England 😅 and Karen the super walker she's a get up and go girl no. 11 not a good one for you then cold wet and damp, 14:10 respect for getting out there you two.😊
Great Vid Sir 😅 we did the opposite way up wernside and loved it! Great circular! I know what you mean though about sometimes not feeling it. The way can sometimes feel hard 😅 but we always remember it as a great walk in the end! We are currently sitting in the campervan at the bottom of Ingleborough intending on climbing tomorrow if the weather isn't too brutal lol! BTW striding edge is epic! Tell Karen she has to do it 😅
Cheers...enjoy your day on Ingleborough, hope the sun shines for you...we are off to bag the county top of Northamptonshire tomorrow...a nice gentle walk.
Really liked this opening and the music. Oh my love your honesty this didn't look like heaven to me either and wow 2 out of 10 I wouldn't be feeling it either. It was very nice upbeat music after that! This is a beautiful area to take photos. Many times we don't feel it and thats ok you made it through and we appreciate your honesty it is always better to be real. I am sorry to say I am a fair weather hiker. Thanks for sharing!
Liked the misty view from the start of Ribblehead Viaduct Steven. Recognised this bit on our own walk of Ribblehead Valley and Whernside. I left a tripod up there on Whernside summit trig point after taking selfies. We've seen a glove gesture on a gate like that ourselves! Weather does make a difference to enjoyment. Karen looks a fit walker.
Thanks Shanita....sorry for the late reply...sorry to hear that you lost a tripod up there...i have trouble keeping up with Karen at times...thanks for watching and commenting.
Pity about the nil visibility most of the walk, but I do like the overcast but dramatic skies you had near the end. The last couple of times i was up there they coincided with one of the big three peaks' events and it was like being in a queue all the way - at least you had it mainly to yourselves.
There is something to be said for fair weather hiking. The mist with the viaduct was fantastic for photography but I can imagine the lack of views take away from the walk. Great shots at the end as the viaduct had the sun behind it. Another one off the list.😊
Lovely views Steven. Dribblehead was a pretty green. Overall it looked cold out there. I do like cloudy, foggy days even though I'd prefer clear views. Would have been fun to see you guys dance again. Cheers mate!
Big old hill today Steven (shame you didn’t feel it (happens though) mind I know you’ll be 200% into it on Helvellyn 🏔️ Nice view of the viaduct towards the end mate 🙏🏼 ATB Simon 🤠👍🏔️
Thanks Simon...yeah hopefully 2% up to 200%...we will probably be waiting for better weather for Helvellyn, no point doing it with no views...cheers mate.
Long time since I have been there and a long time since I have done that climb both need addressing. Dam shame about the weather and the views but at least you are out and doing it, I am stuck in with a horrendous barking cough and totally peed off. Good to see you were rewarded with better weather on the way down, which made for some real nice views, cheers Alan
Hi Steve, we all had days where we not feeling it, bad ankle, no snow or views until towards the end, well at least another 1 ticked off and helvellyn next up eh, get a decent day and your mojo will be back cheers nigel
Hi guys ..it’s understandable steven with the mist hanging over head …but as usual the higher you guys go ..the more exciting it looks &t he more proud I am of you both (thank you 😊can’t wait for the next one as per usual xx
The several months crap weather in the north of England has got to most of us. Well done getting it done `Steve and Karen 💪 I loved the Dales 30s too, a few of em combined with a wild camp. Cheers mates.
Nice one Steve. One i need to do. But as you know i dont do 💩weather and have to be in the mood for it also need to do some in the lakes 🤞. Another excellent vlog👌
Makes sense for it to be West Yorkshire it practically borders Lancashire and takes me over two and a half hours to get there from North Yorkshire! Love the moody mist! Was that gate giving you the finger? Never get tired of Whernside, lovely spot, those stones made for an easier ascent, id have not liked to come down that way. Look forward to your Helvellyn video, will be treacherous at the moment mind. Ah that poor trig needs a spot of restoration. Remember your dance from last time! Nice way to do it in reverse, surprised it was so busy in that weather, we’ve had it to ourselves a couple of times in inclement weather. Sorry to hear about your ankle. Some great views to end the walk on. 👍
Thanks folks...it was one of those days when it just didn't seem right, it seemed like a chore, never felt like that before.might wait until better weather for the Helvellyn walk, plenty more to do...looks like Northamptonshire could be next weekend...got a week off in feb, so we can go away for a long weekend to knock another couple off...all in all enjoying in ...yeah give meself a thumbs up !!
What a misty atmospheric film this was, truly beautifully filmed. The viaduct was mistly perfect! Loved every minute of this film Steven, can’t believe a sore ankle could dampen your spirits. Yes there were far too many JBP about but that gave the film substance. Those ‘toss pots’ who leave orange peel and the like simply need a bloody good thrashing! Can’t wait for the video of you and Karen on Striding Edge. Some nice clear footage at the end but in all honesty I preferred the mist and dankness. FIVE STAR FILM ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Good evening Mike...we really enjoyed this one, even though i didn't stop moaning for most of the way round...yeah the Ankle spoilt the day' i had to use Karens walking pole to get down, it took ages...Karen says "There is no way i will do Striding edge"...with that in mind we will probably do it from the other side [ the boring side ]...You are right about those Toss pots that deserve a good thrashing...thanks for awarding us with 5 stars.
It may have been a crap day, but you got some nice views! It did look busy at the trig. Hopefully, when you look back on this hike you'll appreciate it more😀
Ah good old Ribblehead Viaduct, reminded me of when I did the Yorkshire Three Peaks! I do love the Dales. That looked like tough going in those conditions! Good to hear your honest assessment on the walk, it isn't always a great time! But it's worth doing as long as you don't cause yourself permanant damage
Hahaaha not feeling it class I was here not long ago the viaduct is brill. my pal done a great video of it with drone I went down over to the falls through good flog great walk and pics of the viaduct crappie weather for yous like but at least you got out buddy 👍
Have to agree with you regards the route really did not enjoy it, and very disappointed. I went the other way around on a nice sunny day and it was packed, even early in the morning and rubbish crisp packets, chocolate wrapping etc etc, everywhere. My bag was full of the rubbish l picked up on route. Saw that even on your Blog people had put there sweet wrapping in the top of the trig. (Beggars beyond belief). Still Steve l found that "almost" everyday in the hills are very special. Looking forward to your next trip out.
Cheers mate....loved reading your comment...never noticed the sweet wrapper in the trig...like you sayalmost every day in the hills are special...coundn't agree more...
Sorry you were not feeling it Sir Steven😂...you both did it though and number 11 done and dusted...was trying to think of a movie title to go with the vid maybe with that amazing Viaduct but when you mentioned dancing up there last time on the vid I remember maybe this is the Last Tango in Whernside...Enjoyed it though you two...Cheers Les.🙂👍
Hi Les...sorry Sir Les !!...you know what it is like somedays when you don't feel it...hope i get my Mojo back for the next one...thanks mate...and remember "Keep dancing"
That looked like a bit of a slog. It's been super weather here this week. Cold, crisp and bright, just perfect. Hope you get some good weather soon mate.

Thanks Mark...Yeah Karen has deffo made her mind up about Striding edge.....she is not a fan of steep drops...oh well there are plenty of other routes up...cheers mate.
Rubbish views from the top but made up for it with the golden light through the arches in the evening. Interesting to go that way round. I have never done it the "wrong" way round but might do that for a change myself next time. Nice one, cheers, Warren :)
Evening Warren...yes the Golden light on our return really made up for dull day, it's not unusual for us to look back at the hill to see the top clear and sunny...
Hi Andrew, nice to hear from you...we have probably been up there half a dozen times, usually the reverse of the route we have done here.i also remember going up from Dent one day, that was probably our favourite..very rarely have we had good views, never mind...thanks Steven.
Great film mate, sole very atmospheric shots and another top down!!!
Cheers mate...we keep chipping away at them
Beautiful ❤ great film 🎉
Glad you enjoyed it
