Weird compliments work if you’re already in a relationship with the person you’re giving them to, the problem with nice guys is that they’re so convinced that they’re somehow owed a relationship with whoever they’re talking to that they think immediately moving to the weird compliments will work. Either that or they’re just stupid and my girlfriend and I just compliment each other weirdly.
