@ we can blame the devs for not making a beta, but it’s literally only so much they can play when the majority of the base are playing over networks and no where near the servers. It’s a different experience. You don’t get the same issues offline that you do online while playing with all user controlled players. With that being said, it’s still partly the community fault for complaining about everything. Shooting was great before patch 1. Ppl didn’t want to adapt, so they cried until 2K made it easier. With the steals? That needed to be patched. You gotta think about more factors on a steal now. What’s your agility? Vertical? Height, wingspan? Speed? When did you time the steal? It’s more factors that’s involved in it. That’s why a 6’5-6’7 can get more interceptions than a 6’3 who only upped his offense and speed.
I just can't understand the close shot and steal mechanic in the game. EVERY player in the nba can make a wide open layup 99% of the time. Now with steals. Is it that hard to make your player look at the ball? Like use their eyes to locate the ball? You know... something a 13 year old can do?
after finishing some rec with buddies in 25 last night I turned on 24 to see how crowded it was. There were as many people in the 24 rec lobby as there were in the 25 lobby. And both 24 parks were over half full. Also, seeing that 95k vc left stranded in 24 made me sad. ffs 2k, let us transfer that vc to the current game!

I played 2k24 the other day and 2k25 will REALLY make you appreciate 2k24. I had a blast, it was fast, hands up worked, I got all the rebounds I was in position for, my outlet passes didn’t go wonky and no Superman jump steals, and ohh lord…my precision putback dunks were soo satisfying. I may go back.

We complain because we play against the best players the game have to offer. Best players doesn’t even equate strictly to skill either. You go into a proam tourney and you’re also dealing with people who know how to abuse the games exploit best. You don’t see it as often in casual modes so it doesn’t seem like an issue. A patch is warranted because on the highest level , the best players obliterate folks just cuz of exploits combined with skills.
As a casual, I was actually enjoying this until today. All of the time I spent making a jumper I was decently consistent with for mycareer, wasted…I was hitting 40-45% now with boosts, 25-30%. Stupid.
its impossible to have a game that people will like. the sweats play it like its a full time job while the casuals play a couple hours a night and the super casual plays a couple hours a week. than the sweats will shit on and trash talk people worse than them. imagine if a nba player went to the local gym ran against a squad of randoms just trying to hoop and put up 100 all while laughing at them and calling them trash. developers have to base the grind off of people who play 12-20 hours a day so the normal person can never achieve the best rewards. developers try their best but are fighting against cooperate greed and a generation of full time gamers that break their games and make it worse for the regular player. tragic

There should be TWO versions of this franchise.....One for ONLINE and one for OFFLINE!!!! NBA 2K (offline sim) & 2K PARK (online). THATS ITS!!!! Because everybody is going to be pissed.
Passing lane steals were OP. Im not hearing any crying or complaints for that being nerfed. Learn how to play real defense. 80% of the guards in this game can't play on ball defense. I work 50+ hours in construction and play regularly, but dont use or cry about none of the cheap tricks yall do. Get good.

My biggest problem with the game is the online threshold. You make your build to be faster than your opponents, and to do that you lose a lot. But get in the rec and your opponents is keeping up with you with no problem.
When they had 1v1 in theathre game to 11 with 11 sec shot clocks that was perfect . No other online mode is playable the teammates they give me are atrocious

The game is fine! I shoot 60% as a pg with 83 three point! I had a 92 3pt and shot 57% . You’ll enjoy the game more if you worry about what you can control. Every year is different just like life, don’t complain just adjust ask how you can get better regardless of the gameplay that you don’t control! I’m ranked 2,500 on the game so I guess I’m a sweat

Honestly I said they should leave normal risk where it is and buff high risk by giving shots a “true” green window or a boost to whatever green window you’d have thanks to rng like actually give us a high reward or incentive for switching that setting on like it’s no reason I’m using a skill based setting and still have to worry about my visual cues or green windows changing
What makes it worse is that.. I really don't see a difference from the previous patches lol.. And then to put the icing on the cake. When they release news info on update patch. On their website, they add todays date about what's being new on the game, but they always adding into their description that the new update will be patched a week or so, prior to the new news update on a new patch. Like it makes no sense. Because everytime they make an announcement about a new patch, they give you the patch on the same day as they announce the new update. But it's supposed to be a new patch a week or so later. I'm just confused on how they do things.
I’ll take the steal patch as a W.. in reference to the 2KLabs video around 4:20 mark, is it considered a bump still? Yes, but defender also hit the steal button and was in the way of the ball so prefer that than ball go through the defender. Just my opinion
This is my first year since 2k19 and I honestly hate how much your success is completely dependent on the animations you get but you can’t trigger the animations you want when you try I specifically remember being a kid playing 2k16 and using the stick to layup and dunk and your success depended on how you reacted to the defender with what hand you layed or dunked it with

This year It's also insta steal my d board and strip my layup. If I make to the paint without getting bumped then I gotta worry about losing the layup.

It’s worse than “that bad.” This shhhhh broke my jump shots AGAIN. Had to go retune my jump shot for every build. I don’t understand why they REFUSE to buff interior defense. That would stop these damn guards from standing in the paint. If they know that shhh will get blocked they’ll stage on the perimeter.
Honestly as someone who’s never played 2k online til this year I enjoyed the competitiveness & the skill gap of this game prepatch. It had the same grind as fps games but now it feels like a chore to play especially with all the bs that goes on.
Whats crazy is I went back to 24, as many have, and its play so much better with out the SBMM, Season loaded goofball anomalies, and micro transaction geared nerfs....This might start a new trend for me and actually get my money's worth and acutally enjoy my builds as they were meant to play. Server stay up for 2 years right? I don't need the newest, just the fun, and maybe i'm trippin' but even getting the VC seems easier. Jus my 2Cents.
I still liked it better at the beginning with the new dribbling system when you couldn’t dribble into defenders or the ball would be knocked loose. It exposed a lot of messy right stick spam dribblers

I pre ordered the game and haven't played it yet, I always wait 2 or 3 weeks to see what builds are out there that are meta. But i noticed that from the start I haven't heard anything good about the game. It was more negative videos then seeing actual build videos. I also notice that my crew I run with are not even playing that much like previous years. That was the red flag for me that said "nah, 2k is not going to finesse me this year". This is coming from someone who spends at least a band every year on builds because I love to hoop. Me being patient watching the community saved me on bread and frustration. I took the L on the pre order but I am relieved that I will not being making no builds this year for the first time in years.
I’ve noticed a lot lately now that when I go for a steal, I’ll do a block animation instead of the actual steel for the passing lane. I don’t understand. Why would I block when I’m pressing the steel button?
I don’t know if this was just a fluke but the stun seems to affect all offensive players around the loose ball. Pg got ripped and I went from the wing to top of the key to recover the loose ball and prevent the turnover BUT I was also stunned.
Funny thing about 2k is by technical standards they don’t even have to make a new game every year. They can just update and focus on the game. But they greedy
When the devs say in order for more realism you have to relinquish control, they are telling you most of the community doesn’t know how to play actual basketball. The game is bad yes. But a lot of problems would be alleviated if people actually knew how to play actual basketball and not 2K. The community doesn’t even know what they want. Do you want a BASKETBALL sim or do you want an arcade game.
I feel like 2k has never been a fluid game. Every year something is wrong and it’s always something different. They need to include real basketball players as consultants to give them the correct probabilities of how often things should happen.

I think the “stun lock” to the offense is a bit over the top. And randomly missing a wide open X button dunk when you have a high DD is also annoying as hell. But I think people are just complaining.

I was hitting shots before patch and then today and last night I ain’t making nothing again.
I literally deleted the game after the update. Every single year they make changes, and the games turns out worse off. So f'ing annoying.

This happens every year. It’s not 2k it’s the community. They complain, cry and whine and say things are broken are designed wrong if things don’t go how they want it. 2k actually listens to the community, give them what they want, they cry about what they wanted etc. it’s the community.

The game is fine! I shoot 60% as a pg with 83 three point! I had a 92 3pt and shot 57% . You’ll enjoy the game more if you worry about what you can control. Every year is different just like life, don’t complain just adjust ask how you can get better regardless of the gameplay that you don’t control! I’m ranked 2,500 on the game so I guess I’m a sweat

The thing about saying 2k is catering to casuals is casuals aren't on social media complaining about the game to developers, calling out Mike Wang and Ronnie2K if they don't like what's goin on wit 2K they just play something else. It's the competitive complainers really deterring new players or making ppl adopt complaints they didn't even have until their favorite content creator says something about it. They are the ones causing all the patches...just stfu and adjust. Shooting, Rebounding, on ball defense, off ball defense, layups, floaters, scoop layups (especially when those), dunks, standing dunks, post up play (mostly you’re not strong enough even with 90+ strength against a pg with 25), close shot… list goes on and on. Shits broken af

Honestly I said they should leave normal risk where it is and buff high risk by giving shots a “true” green window or a boost to whatever green window you’d have thanks to rng like actually give us a high reward or incentive for switching that setting on like it’s no reason I’m using a skill based setting and still have to worry about my visual cues or green windows changing
What makes it worse is that.. I really don't see a difference from the previous patches lol.. And then to put the icing on the cake. When they release news info on update patch. On their website, they add todays date about what's being new on the game, but they always adding into their description that the new update will be patched a week or so, prior to the new news update on a new patch. Like it makes no sense. Because everytime they make an announcement about a new patch, they give you the patch on the same day as they announce the new update. But it's supposed to be a new patch a week or so later. I'm just confused on how they do things.
I’ll take the steal patch as a W.. in reference to the 2KLabs video around 4:20 mark, is it considered a bump still? Yes, but defender also hit the steal button and was in the way of the ball so prefer that than ball go through the defender. Just my opinion

This is my first year since 2k19 and I honestly hate how much your success is completely dependent on the animations you get but you can’t trigger the animations you want when you try I specifically remember being a kid playing 2k16 and using the stick to layup and dunk and your success depended on how you reacted to the defender with what hand you layed or dunked it with
Listen until 2k, take away the city, and save the memory on gameplay. You will never get a good game. Like I said before, that lawsuit is getting back to let the people know they are not stronger than the machine.

This year It's also insta steal my d board and strip my layup. If I make to the paint without getting bumped then I gotta worry about losing the layup.
Stopped playing this game maybe a month ago. I’ve had more games where I’ve Quit (options-triangle) last season than I’ve had all year on every other 2k. When I realized that I knew it just wasn’t my game. I really hope I don’t pick this game back up

Honestly as someone who’s never played 2k online til this year I enjoyed the competitiveness & the skill gap of this game prepatch. It had the same grind as fps games but now it feels like a chore to play especially with all the bs that goes on.
(As a pg) idm bump steals, its a skill to avoid them. But only on ball rips should trigger the stun.
Whats crazy is I went back to 24, as many have, and its play so much better with out the SBMM, Season loaded goofball anomalies, and micro transaction geared nerfs....This might start a new trend for me and actually get my money's worth and acutally enjoy my builds as they were meant to play.

I still liked it better at the beginning with the new dribbling system when you couldn’t dribble into defenders or the ball would be knocked loose. It exposed a lot of messy right stick spam dribblers
It sucks that shooting has taken a major turn and it makes it tougher on defense now. But lately I have been focusing on hitting me prestige levels on Duty!
I pre ordered the game and haven't played it yet, I always wait 2 or 3 weeks to see what builds are out there that are meta. But i noticed that from the start I haven't heard anything good about the game. It was more negative videos then seeing actual build videos. I also notice that my crew I run with are not even playing that much like previous years. That was the red flag for me that said "nah, 2k is not going to finesse me this year". This is coming from someone who spends at least a band every year on builds because I love to hoop. Me being patient watching the community saved me on bread and frustration. I took the L on the pre order but I am relieved that I will not being making no builds this year for the first time in years.
I’ve noticed a lot lately now that when I go for a steal, I’ll do a block animation instead of the actual steel for the passing lane. I don’t understand. Why would I block when I’m pressing the steel button?

I don’t know if this was just a fluke but the stun seems to affect all offensive players around the loose ball. Pg got ripped and I went from the wing to top of the key to recover the loose ball and prevent the turnover BUT I was also stunned.

Sure, theres a couple things we dont like, but overall its a good game. Sure, 16/17 or around those years were the best, but its still good.
When the devs say in order for more realism you have to relinquish control, they are telling you most of the community doesn’t know how to play actual basketball. The game is bad yes. But a lot of problems would be alleviated if people actually knew how to play actual basketball and not 2K. The community doesn’t even know what they want. Do you want a BASKETBALL sim or do you want an arcade game.
My friend with a 94 steal still gets 5+ steals a game off lanes. I get a couple with a 73. It’s ok at the moment. Maybe a slight buff
I feel like 2k has never been a fluid game. Every year something is wrong and it’s always something different. They need to include real basketball players as consultants to give them the correct probabilities of how often things should happen.

I think the “stun lock” to the offense is a bit over the top. And randomly missing a wide open X button dunk when you have a high DD is also annoying as hell. But I think people are just complaining.
