"Setting Sail, Coming Home" is perhaps the most beautiful track in a good soundtrack. I think it's because it interweaves two previous songs together perfectly.
i'll be 100% honest, i download the game pirated and it was the first game i stoped and listened to the ost and said "im not playing until i can buy it original" i deleted it in the same moment, this game made me realize games are much more than only gameplay years go, thank you so much.
This game, it's art, and of course it's music puts to rest Roger Ebert's challenge that video games are not art. Bastion is beautiful in every way that a human creation can be. When I first heard Zia singing in game, echoing across the map to me behind the battle, I was chilled. When I finally found her, I did not speak to her until the song was over. I was mesmerized.
If you don't think these songs mean anything, or you don't quite understand "why", I really recommend purchasing a copy of Bastion for yourself and experiencing the adventure. There are just some things in life you have to treat yourself to: Bastion is one of them.
He also does everything that has anything to do with sound for bastion, all of the effects, records all of the voices, makes every sound you hear in the game.
These two songs left such an impact on me when I first heard them, that I had to buy the soundtrack to Bastion. After having listened to them over and over and soaking in the haunting beauty of these tunes, watching these artist just jam it out was so much cooler than I would have ever expected. Darren and Ashley, you have made music that I will remember for the rest of my life. Thank you.
If I could physically cry, I would be moved to tears. Instead, you'll have to settle for me grinning like an idiot the whole way through. That was wonderful.
"The Singer agreed to return to the Bastion." I nearly cried, both listening now and when I first heard this song. There are no words for how beautiful and awesome both Bastion and its soundtrack are...
Came back to this today. Amazed build that wall still hit that hard, but the transition hit me like a ton of bricks. Wow. A song I heard so many times, and that transition, Darren coming in and the interplay between you two just flattened me all over again. Art. Thank you for this (and all of the Master pieces since). Bastion will always be my favorite game ever.
Finished this masterpiece of a game today. I haven't been able to stop listening to this song since finishing it. Transistor had the same effect on me. Thank you SuperGiant for these incredible additions to the gaming community. Looking forward to playing Pyre next
When I heard this great song for the first time in the game, I died and went to heaven. After I got kicked out of there again and came back to earth, I bought the Soundtrack immediately. Damn. Logan's and Ashley's voices gives Bastion a huge boost.
every time I listen to them sing setting sail it gives me chills. I loved the game and that song. (I just shedded a tear listening to them sing it again) lol
My God.. Eargasm all the way.. Goosebumps crawling left and right.. No song has made me felt like this.. and no game has ever touched me the way Bastion did.
BOTH of you are super classy, talented musicians, and your contributions to Bastion helped cement it as a true work of art in my mind. Thank you for helping make Bastion GREAT!!
i REALLY love how his guitar compliments her voice so perfectly. THIS is heart and soul. I can't believe how far indie games have become. Wonderful. Keep doing this PLEASE. I'd love to hear more from you to. =] Just keep having fun!
Darren Korb's lyrical works in the two themes are absolutely fantastic. Simply astounding, really. They're so deep, emotionally charged, touching and gives a whole new perspective on death, war (on several planes and levels) and those left behind and the whole game greatly contributes to criticize those issues. I was rendered completely breathless after I finished it. A timeless masterpiece.
It's telling that almost a year later I can come back to this song, and it still brings me to tears. Korb did such a fantastic job with the music in Bastion, each piece set the mood so well, especially with Coming Home.
not just a arcade game ... bastion was an awesome game ... full of talent ... in everyway , music , design style , gameplay , story .. top notch , especially for a inde game like this ... some multibillionaire companies could learn from them.
This was the perfect storm. The narravtive and the experience where everything did fit like puzzle pieces made for each other. Guess what? They are at it again,
I've really liked game soundtracks before, and bought collectors editions so I could get it too.. But Bastion.. I actually went as far as buying a signed copy of this soundtrack. So marvelous.
It is a beautiful song really. Even if you haven't even played the game. But if you have played the game, the meaning of the song really comes out to a new level.
Chills galore. And it was fitting this amazing music was in Bastion. A perfect storm of gameplay, music, and art style/visuals. This game will sit in my memory with the best of what the 360 has had to offer.
I bought Bastion twice. Once for XBLA and again through the Humble Indie pack just so I could get the Soundtrack. I love this game so much and the music was just so perfect. Thank you all.
This was game of the year for me. Much respect to a company who cares about their fans like this. This song along with Logan's voice created something that most games can't come close to doing. Thank you for this!
Kid stays and listens for a while.
+Rodrigo Lisboa Best comment.
+Skeletor Jopko he deserves the best on his life
"Setting Sail, Coming Home" is perhaps the most beautiful track in a good soundtrack.

Damn, she sings like an angel.
... And he's really damn good too!
damn!
i'll be 100% honest, i download the game pirated and it was the first game i stoped and listened to the ost and said "im not playing until i can buy it original" i deleted it in the same moment, this game made me realize games are much more than only gameplay years go, thank you so much.
I pirated it as well, I did buy it on my switch

I did absolutely the same hahaha Her voice is lovely!!
In spoke to her as soon as I heard the song because I thought there will be a cutscene with the song... well the game trolled me hard :|
Same!
i think everyone did the exact same as you, same here btw :')
Jesus. 10yrs later and this song still gives me chills. Such beauty
3:30 when they start singing together, it gives me chills everytime
In 2019 and this is still my favorite song, it brings back so much nostalgia 😊
If you don't think these songs mean anything, or you don't quite understand "why", I really recommend purchasing a copy of Bastion for yourself and experiencing the adventure. There are just some things in life you have to treat yourself to: Bastion is one of them.
Your voice made me cry ashley.
Kid keeps coming back over and over during nine years (so far) to listen to this song because it's so damn good.
He also does everything that has anything to do with sound for bastion, all of the effects, records all of the voices, makes every sound you hear in the game.
Darren and Ashley's voices mix very well for Setting Sail, Coming Home.
Supergiants the kings and queens of game music and game design
And they've played it with a goddamn orchestra seven years later. What a journey, what a beautiful journey.
Years later, the beauty of this masterwork of musical art still invokes such a powerful emotional response. Incredible.
This is quite possibly the greatest way I could have started today.
One of the best soundtracks I ever heard. A great game!
More! They need to do more live recordings of the bastion songs!!!!
how much of this amazing series of games was just these two singing and playing music together, so good
Such beautifully clear voices. This one is humbled.
my alarm every day, every morning, for 3 years. And this still make me chill.
Ashley, you make me feel so much; and help me in hard times. Thank you.
I just cannot fathom the musical genius this contains.
Best credits ever just because of this song.
One of the best games of 2011, no question. Love this,
one of my favorite games. art, really tight gameplay, voice acting, music...i try to recommend your game to everyone.
The Build That Wall moment was one of the coolest game moments for me last year.
These two songs left such an impact on me when I first heard them, that I had to buy the soundtrack to Bastion. After having listened to them over and over and soaking in the haunting beauty of these tunes, watching these artist just jam it out was so much cooler than I would have ever expected. I love these songs so much. They are such a good duo, hope they're gonna make music for your games for a very long time.
Ashley sings like there's no tomorrow. It's heart-wrenching and wonderful to hear.
If I could physically cry, I would be moved to tears. Instead, you'll have to settle for me grinning like an idiot the whole way through. That was wonderful.
Build That Wall in this video was incredible, but Setting Sail, Coming Home was absolutely amazing.
With that act, they became one of my favorite game companies. What awesome people. :-)
Hell. Yes. Much love to both of you from my little corner of the internet.
The moment they start singing together i'm getting goosebumps. Best game soundtrack of 2011.
The whole game is splendid, great music, art, narration, story, gameplay are all too good
Im came back from 10 years later and damn...this is so cool❤
that changeover at about 3:00 gave me the chills. I love this!
Darren is probably the best composer in the games industry right now. The bastion OST was flawless.
I'd pay to listen to this live.
The soundtrack for Bastion is just awesome. Kudos to Mr. Korb for his incredible work,
OK, thanks, now I'm freezing from all the chills I just got.
Ashley Barrett your voice has blessed my playlists for two years hnggggg thank you for your work! ;u;
This song has aged so well ❤
I still really want a studio recording of this version. I love the acoustic guitar with their harmonies, and that transition was stellar!
Such fresh counterpoints! Bravo
Love the song, love the game
I bloody love "Mother, I'm Here"
They sound so good. When I close my eyes it sounds as crisp and as exact as the actual track from the game. Absolutely wonderful.
"The Singer agreed to return to the Bastion."
I nearly cried, both listening now and when I first heard this song. There are no words for how beautiful and awesome both Bastion and its soundtrack are...
2018, and these two amaze me everytime. From Bastion to Pyre.
This is more than gold.
Daren Korb!! i have one word for you for the bastion soundtrack. "Genius!!!"
Simply, great!

How could you possibly dislike this? I mean... seriously...
When I heard this great song for the first time in the game, I died and went to heaven. After I got kicked out of there again and came back to earth, I bought the Soundtrack immediately. Damn. Logan's and Ashley's voices gives Bastion a huge boost.
Darren, you are brilliant. Ashley, you are spectacular.
together you breach the boundaries of conventional music.

Happy 10 year anniversary to this gem 🥰
Mesmerising 😊
It's awesome to know that there are actually developers left out there who GENUINELY supports their fans...That's why I love Supergiant.
One of the best OST of the entire history of videogames.
No autotune, no editing, no bullshit. PURE UNDILUTED AWESOMENESS. If you do this but for "Coming Home" I'd be able to die happily!
I cried the first time I heard it. I will keep it in my Mp3 player for the rest of my life. thanks so much
They make a great combo
Gotta simply love them. All awards they've gotten lately were well deserved.
My God.. Eargasm all the way.. Goosebumps crawling left and right.. No song has made me felt like this.. and no game has ever touched me the way Bastion did.
I get the chills every time they start singing together
BOTH of you are super classy, talented musicians, and your contributions to Bastion helped cement it as a true work of art in my mind. Thank you for helping make Bastion GREAT!!
I love how Darren's voice sounds like a slightly deeper Thom Yorke.
i REALLY love how his guitar compliments her voice so perfectly. THIS is heart and soul. I can't believe how far indie games have become. Wonderful. Keep doing this PLEASE. I'd love to hear more from you to. =] Just keep having fun!
Ashley has one of the most beautiful voices I've heard lately... I'm completely adicted to this song... wish I could sing like her :$

This puts me on the brink of tears. Absolutely love it.
I adore these songs. Thank you so much to Darren and Ashley and to all the people who had a hand in creating this game.

Just completed this last night. A rare example of a game that's perfect for everything it aimed to accomplish. Beautiful songs abound.
I can't stop listening it ! Ashley Barrett got a an awesome voice !
this was very awesome. the 2 biggest moments in the game happen when these songs are being played. love it.

Still absolutely beautiful.
I beg you, make more live videos. You are amazing.
Both of you have amazing voices and your song "Setting Sail" gives me chills when I listen to it. And Darren has incredible mutton chops.
It is a beautiful song really. Even if you haven't even played the game. But if you have played the game, the meaning of the song really comes out to a new level.

Love the Bastion soundtrack so much!!
Easily the best game soundtrack of 2011, and it's impressive how they can pull it off no problem in front of a camera, no processing needed.
I bought Bastion twice. Once for XBLA and again through the Humble Indie pack just so I could get the Soundtrack. I love this game so much and the music was just so perfect. Thank you all.
Getting major chills listening to this!
Wow. I don't ever say this, but I got chills listening to this. Like, legs freezing up, everything.
Can't stop listening to this song. It's sounds so great, what a fantastic soundtrack to the fantastic game!
This was game of the year for me. Much respect to a company who cares about their fans like this. This song along with Logan's voice created something that most games can't come close to doing. Thank you for this!
This is just perfect!!!!
Life is unfair, upsidedown and twisted. The good and righteous suffer while the evil bask in their spoils. This song keeps me goin'. Thank you.
