6:05 god, it's been years, but to this day as soon as I hear the first lines of "Setting sail coming home" (or "Mother, I'm here") my eyes get teary. All of Bastion's soundtrack was and still is bangers.
@@Justagamerhere1 right? I’ve got like 3-4 copies of the game across PlayStation and Xbox and one of the physical editions and at least 5 copies of the album, 2 cds one signed one not, 2 digital codes or more and the amazingly awesome vinyl records for Bastion and Transistor. Keep up the amazing work Supergiant Games.
@@auctoritate8254 Though it's very cool indeed, and it's awesome that they don't just make us pay to hear it, it's not really anything new that a game company posts their soundtrack online.
It must be every developer's dream to go from a great little game like Bastion to a GOTY contender like Hades within 4 games, knowing you made it all the way up by yourselves, congratulations Supergiant Games.
Folks from Caelondia knew how to carry a tune . Sure, we've got some songs on the old gramophone, but tryin' to imagine what they sounded like playin' to a room full of fine people, unwindin' at the Sole Regret right after a hard day's work.....those were the days.
I know some of you might take this for granted because nowadays everything should be "free", but if you love what you hear like me, consider buying the vinyl or CD. I've tried to become a professional musician myself (unsuccessful) and I know the countless hours every single musician have to put into practice so they can be at a level that you guys are hearing. This actually encourages Supergiant to produce more of this amazing music content and we will have more alternatives to the bullcrap that is Spotify top 50.
The wonderful facial expression shared between a person sitting in the toilet, and a guitarist cranking out a chunky riff, @1:03. ...or maybe also by an Ura leader seeing The Kid pounding away at his village with a hammer.
Young boy I loved the fun melodic tunes of the early games like Zelda, Mario, and Sonic Then as a teen I loved the soundtrack to Diablo, Elder Scrolls, etc. Now as an adult, my kids and I enjoy the music from Bastion and Hades!
6:30 my whole body had goosebumps and then I teared up. these songs are so powerful. I love Bastion so much! And this singer is perfect for that song!!!
I cried... again Be it Bastion or Transistor i cant hold the tears These songs carry so much within them it's always a pleasure to listen Thank you for these
After years of loving Bastion and it really... marking and flavouring my life ever since, with its symbolism, its tone, its melancholy... today I bought it for my cousin. I hope she'll feel it, adore it, then pass it on herself. Thank you, Supergiant.
This entire arrangement is beautiful but that final instrumental surge, right after the last few words are sung, is just... wow, absolutely breathtaking. Bastion and its music got me through all of college, and I’m so happy y’all are getting the recognition you deserve.
Thank you @Supergiant Games for this. I am a 51-year-old, long-time Gamer, and I just bought and started playing Hades and Ashley Barrett was the one-of-many-moments of your game wherein I realized why you achieved the coveted Game-of-the-Year Award for Indie Games, and her voice gave me pause like no other PC/Console Game. Keep up the GREAT, innovative work!!!
I'm finding myself in situation when Spotify plays On the Coast masterpiece and RUclips starts playing Remember the Bastion over the Spotify. It means just one thing: I just can't get enough of Darren.
The vinyl pre-order of the album that features this version just came in the mail around the holidays. I absolutely cannot get enough of this. Bastion is one of my all time favorites and this version brought it to life even more than I thought was possible.
I am a huge fan of the sound design at supergiant games! I remember i liked the song 'forecast' from the game transistor before i ever heard of the game or the studio. First time a song made me want to buy the game, but im sure when it comes to supergiant games it won't be the last time ;) Now im a huge fan of their games and can't wait to see what this amazing studio brings us next! Keep up the amazing work
My ears are fairly sensitive to covers, live performances and rerecordings, noticing whenever there's deviation from the source. Ashley sounds impeccable, almost as if they had reused her original recording from the decade old game. She is so precisely accurate that whenever I listen to this performance I am impressed anew.
If only it were possible to give more than just one thumbs up! Loving this music since the Summer of Arcade release in 2011 on my good ol Xbox 360. Thank you Darren and co.!
I love the reimagining of those songs. They bring back so many memories and touch me on such an emotional level. Thank you, Supergiant. You never stop amazing me with your work.
All of these renditions from all of your games are absolutely amazing! If you are able, I'd love to hear all of your songs done in this manner. But even if you can't, thank you for the gift of these remixes and the original songs. :)
Good lord all those peoples are SOOO talented, congrats to them all and thanks to Darren Korb for his compositions ! Still remember 10 years ago the first I stopped in the game and listened the song, amazed in front of my computer
If you get the chance, play their other games. The voice acting is just as superb, and they all have different twists on gameplay that make every single game unique. The stories are all also superb.
I fucking love Supergiant Games. Never expected such mythology accuracy from Hades, nor such a good game like Hades. Supergiant overtook many of the big companies, like Ubisoft and Activision, they're seriously heading in the direction of Santa Monica Studios and Valve which are two of the best gaming companies out there.
Isso foi tão especial em tantas formas diferentes que é difícil de descrever This was so special in so many different ways that it's really hard to describe
Must be fake, I don't see the trombones jamming to the music like mad pigeons XD. But for real though, Bastion is one of my absolute favourites for weaving the music and the gameplay and the narration (ooohhhh you good ol' Rucks...) for an absolutely and utterly amazing experience.
That man playing the harp as an amazing mustache.
He even reminds me of Rucks!
So has the guy playing the guitar. Reminds me of one supergiant composer..
He is like 30% mustache
The mustache is so dangerous he has to be kept in isolation from the female musicians
real, they all do
2024.... and im still trap to this MASTERPIECE
6:05 god, it's been years, but to this day as soon as I hear the first lines of "Setting sail coming home" (or "Mother, I'm here") my eyes get teary.
All of Bastion's soundtrack was and still is bangers.
Nice profile pic. You look like a man who struggles to find his shoes in the morning ;)
Setting Sail is still probably my favorite credits track from anything ever.
“Settting Sail, Coming Home” has been my favorite of all of their songs. “In the Blood” from Hades might be the only song that can dethrone it for me.
I’ve never been so happy to hear that melody, I’ve never cried this hard over music either but I guess that’s nothing new!
"so what instrument do you play?" - "hammer and wrench"
So you're telling me we can get the album HOWEVER you posted a lot of the music for free on youtube? I freaking love you guys
They also posted the entire soundtracks to each of their games.
Joke's on them I bought the soundtracks and merch multiple times.

Even if they post the music on RUclips, SuperGiant deserve my money.
I wanna do this every week. Best week ever
Nice work Austin :) !! Greetings from Brazil !!
I have no words, Bastion was the first game of yours that I played and I still hold it so dearly; listening to this really brought tears to my eyes

I'm always a little bit surprised when I am reminded that Ashley and Red do in fact not look the same.

I can still hear Ruck's voice when I read this, even after all these years.
Those hammer&wrench deserve to appear in credits without being hidden under that modest "percussion number whatever".
That Spike on a Rail segment was amazing
the title of the song will always be funny for me, as if it's genuienly possible to experience Bastion and forget it
Holy shit, so "Remember the Bastion" was actually a compilation of a bunch of Bastion songs into one track? I may pick up that vinyl after all
Kid stops to listen for a while
Your comment brought so much joy to me, thank you :)
Mancer's dilema is such a great track
Yes it is very well done
In an AMA many years ago Darren Korb said how much he enjoyed Abzu. The seed of collaboration was planted.
Long way from recording in a closet. Ya love to see it!
How could I ever forgotten Zia, Zulf, or the Bastion.

I'd pay for a vinyl of this
"Set Sail, Coming Home" this version is even more touching.
holy god. when that violin hit, no joke took me aback and left me speechless for like 2 minutes
Hitting the like button doesn't even come close to conveying the feelings this brought me
The wonderful facial expression shared between a person sitting in the toilet, and a guitarist cranking out a chunky riff, @1:03. ...or maybe also by an Ura leader seeing The Kid pounding away at his village with a hammer.
4:16 - Is that a bloody plunger head?! *BRILLIANT.*
thats a mute, its pretty common for brass instruments. As someone who used to play the cornet, its necessary.

try "Paper Boats" from the Transistor OST. thank me later. :)
Playing Bastion for the first time years ago was an amazing experience. Every single Supergiant title is and always will be a beautiful piece of art.
4:34 That's a nice touch! :D
5:40 onwards just gives me goosebumps every single time!
That lead trombone player is such a legend!!! Lead violin too!
6:30 my whole body had goosebumps and then I teared up. these songs are so powerful. I love Bastion so much! And this singer is perfect for that song!!!
I'll never forget the Bastion.
WHAT A SONG OMG
Buddy is playin' the hell outta that hammer and wrench!
I cried... again
Be it Bastion or Transistor i cant hold the tears
These songs carry so much within them it's always a pleasure to listen
Thank you for these
This has to be the single greatest piece of video game music ever created
I swear, at four minutes it's like the imaginary soundtrack to Firefly that you half-remember kicks in and it's perfect.

3:35 I need a full length version of Spike in a Rail with this instrumentation, absolutely 🔥🔥🔥
I'm so happy you did not forget about this masterpiece.
Love you, lovely folks.

This piece is such an experience! Wish I could have seen it live.
Yes. This is my favourite of the album. And I have no nostalgia attached to Bastion, just played it this March for the first time.
y'all made me cry
Thank you Supergiant Games for sharing these BTS videos ! It's an absolute delight to watch you work your magic !

"a spanner"
