I remember about 10 years ago when a 9.8 was unheard of . 9.6 was the highest you would hope for . Then all the sudden they started pumping out 9.8s and the 9.6s were not worth as much

Graded comics should have expiration date . The tools that Cgc used when they first started are not the same as today. You have vintage comics That should not be graded in the same standards as today.
That's true. Standards were much stricter in the beginning. So a 9.0 when they first started would likely be a 9.4. I know I sent in a few books during their first years of operation that I need to resubmit.
As far as the first Wolverine. All three issues of hulk 180,181 and 182 must be brought together to unlock the first appearance level. It’s a trifecta of Wolvie goodness or its incomplete.

Cables first appearance is still the new mutants book to get. Far more compelling characters. Oh, I love deadpool as well. Just like cable more.
I was on a plane descending into Cleveland Hopkins when Garrett tried to kill Rudolph. A ton of folks were on the plane watching the game. All of the sudden a huge swath of the plane just starts screaming. Everyone not watching were freaked out thinking something was wrong.

I sold 7 CGC = $500 ... watched a guy come in a week later:
Sold every CGC he had, 40+ = $600
* makes a diff, as my 9.8s, trumped his box of 8.5s, 8.0s & 9.4s
Not only does that make no sense, but it just makes no sense.

I’m so sick of seeing all these modern books graded…what a waste. Big high dollar keys like AF 15, X-men 1, etc I can understand but modern stuff…no.

What I'm sick about, is the A. Ho's flooding the market with hundreds of different covers, and thousands of REPRINTS of the same book!!! Thay did the same with sports cards, and the value was gone, and so were the collectors!!! I think the same thing is going to happen to comic books!! 🤔

Make sure your “professionally” graded comic was actually graded right! That pretty much says everything about CGC. Whenever the actual professional company that will replace them shows up these CGC books will become CBCS book lol
I'm buying "Reader" copies like crazy. Silver Age comics for less than $100. Slabs are nice, if you're into them & can afford it. I'll always prefer "Raw" comics.

Invincible season 2 was amazing! It surpassed x-men 97 for me.
The whole Hulk 180-181-182 thing is ridiculous. 182 is his 3rd appearance. He appeared in 180 full body and said his name. And I own all 3 books + Giant Size XM, so however they wanna they wanna slice it im good. but it's ridiculous what they try to convince us is an appearance vs a cameo.
Gift Grading?.Make sure you buy a true 9.8 and not one with a spine tic?..Doesn’t That basically make CGC grading irrelevant?..But,sadly,CGC is too entrenched into the hobby to get rid of now

I had an opportunity to buy a raw Iron Fist 14 last week, it felt like a 2.0-2.5 for $145, but I passed. I wanted a higher grade
I did that with TMNT one. Back in1990!! Man, do I regret it now!!! 😢
Got a question for you guys. I have a 4.5 signed copy of Hulk #182. Signed books are always tricky based on who signed them. The copy I have has been signed by Stan Lee and Lou Ferrigno. Stan Lee's signature is always a plus but bought the book b/c of Ferrigno's signature b/c I figured he didn't sign many of these books. Do I have something a little special? I know it's worth is based on what someone is willing to pay, but does the Ferrigno signature along with Stan Lee's make it more of a premium? Just tell me you thoughts.

I bought that hulk 182 cgc 8.0 it completed my trilogy and 250.00 for it was a steal to me 🤷♂️
Opinions vary I buy things I like you buy things you like….I prefer slabbed books if you don’t that’s your choice. I’m not about to bash someone over how they spend their money on a hobby🤷♂️

Mid-Grade Bronze books are 50 plus year old comics. Batman was fifty in 1989.
I recently bought a raw copy of x-men 130 for £50 for a high grade
