Had a great Aussie bush band tape years back. Now rediscovered the Bushwackers 2021.Still fantastic, ordered some really expensive (Aussie ebay) CD's for my anologue Man Cave will play on 11. Greeting from the grey land up top where the Pom's live.
Indeed. The Bushwackers music has it's roots in Socts Irish Folk music. I have the distinct pleasure to be an AUSSIE of Scots Irish descent. This music CALLS TO ME. Memories of Bush Dances at the RSL or The CWA hall!!! So many good times!!
Can't remember how many years ago, when I first met Roger Corbett, and Pixie the fiddler. But I'd like my bloody album back mate. (John Hanlon 'Garden Fresh') I think you've had it for about 25 yrs now? Great Musicians and i really miss the pub band scene, lot of it has been shut down in the cities by bloody wowsers..
The Bushwackers Dance Album "1980" was the first record I ever got, as a present from my mum when I was too young to even stand up (she is/was a country, celtic & rock singer and musician). Now I'm 34 and I can't believe how much I still love them, or how good they still sound.
Beatiful, my memories will awake, I mean in that time when I was living in N.S.W, at Sydney. I was young and at professional work in Australia - and getting to know Bushwackers, they where young too. Dance album just appeared, I still have it and listen it.
This song featured in the movie The Sundowners 1960 in the shearing sheds scene with Robert Mitchum John Mellion Ronald Fraser and Gerry Duggan!😀🤠🤠🤠🐑🐑🐑🐳🐋🇦🇺
I went from Perth to Adelaide in March 1996 with my bicycle. Singing with the guys in the Pubs in the evening. Just phantastic people. Greatest experience of my life. One place was clare valley.
got to see them at the 2003 gympie muster, back then they had the camp fire by the windmill. everyone was folk dancing, having a great old crack, just like old times. unfortunetly the muster doesn't do that anymore.(public liability laws)
I do this song for choir so I need to practise my solo part is when they meet up on the road from off their backs throw down their load and at the sun they'll take a look saying it's time to press the cook
Keeping Australian music true, year after year. Love their commitment to Aussie music!
Australian Folk music at its BEST, with it's feet firmly planted in the Celtic (Convict) music culture! Love it!!!

dingo2312 doesn't that make you mad. The way so much has been cancelled because of "public liability". Surely there's a way around it?
+dingo2312 Those liability laws ruin everything.
