    That was very interesting and a stark comparison with my experience. I had my gall bladder removed on a Tuesday morning. I was discharged from hospital at 5.00pm the same day. Had to take pain killers about 7.00 then was okay .. More pain relief before bedtime then slept until 8.30 next morning. I was a bit sore, but able to walk around without any nasty pain. First meal at 9.00am was muesli and tea. .. Constipation until Thursday but okay with urinating. Friday the pain had gone and was returning to normal and played a gig with my band on the Saturday night. .. Pretty uneventful all round compared with your experiences. Hope you're fully recovered and have got all those after affects sorted.

    I haven't had my surgery yet, but my stomach hurts so bad at night, I have loose bowel movements 4-9 times a day. I am 70 yrs. old and have a bad heart (2 heart attacks) and other health issues, so not sure if a surgeon will take me up on this. I'd be willing to risk death to get rid of all of these symptoms though. Your belly looks quite beat up and sore, hope you are doing well now.

    I had my gallbladder surgery Monday...today is Friday...and I went back to work yesterday and today. (I teach voice and piano at a conservatory.)
    I was sent home 5 hours after my surgery started...so only 4 hours in recovery. After the 1st hour, they made sure I could walk and urinate...then let me recover another hour...gave me some juice and graham crackers...and called my ride.
    For the first 7 to 8 hours, I kept an ice pack on my abdomen and alternated between Ibuprofen and Tylenol. I never took any pain meds...only whatever they gave me at the end of surgery, so when it wore off, that was it.
    I trusted that my body would have normal-for-me stools, especially since I took no pain meds...and sure enough, the morning of the 2nd day post-op, that happened...and it's been pretty consistent since. (I've always tended towards loose stools...even diarrhea-ish...so it's looking like that's not going to change.)
    I've got a whopper of a bruise around my navel...and three small instrument holes that they sealed with surgical glue. The glue will just grow off...I imagine by the end of the 2nd week.
    I had Chick-fil-A yesterday...chicken nuggets and waffle fries...and that was the fattiest thing I've eaten. It didn't upset my stomach...but then, I don't think I'll eat that often.
    Overall...my surgical experience has been pretty "meh"...and beat the heck out of a gallbladder attack for dang sure!!! I'm really glad I did it!

    Well I was told I needed surgery, I spoke to the surgeon who was supposed to do it, and decided not to have it.
    He told me of the risks both having it and not having it, I decided not to have it as it seems to me that we have this gall bladder for a reason, I'm no expert but i do know that it is there for a good reason and unless there is no other alternative it is better to have it than not.
    Before I spoke to the surgeon I had looked for an alternative, based on the idea that keeping the bladder was probably better than losing it.
    So I discovered there is a product that claimed to help, by reducing the cholesterol that forms in the bladder, it said would be slowly desoled by the bodies own bile.
    So not wanting surgery I decided to try it this is around 7 months ago now.
    It's not been easy as the product can cause some minor side effects, but to be honest so far I'm glad I did not have surgery, I may regret it at some stage later but if anything it feels as though it is working.
    After one year I will get a scan to see if the stones which were quite big have reduced in size or gone away.
    I no longer get any pain at all but I do need to listen to my body when it tells me to stop taking it or reduce the dosage, some times I get drained can hardly move but that is a sign I need to stop then my energy levels come back and I start again back on it.
    That's the way I have been using it anyway.
    I feel without it I would have had no choice but to have surgery.
    I had all the symptoms, vomiting, pain, unable to move at times, felt sick unable to go to work.
    Now I feel so much better, and I can still eat fatty foods but you're better off trying to have a normal diet avoiding fatty foods as much as reasonably possible but not altogether because you want your body to produce bile so that bile can devolve the cholesterol in the bladder.
    Or at least that is the idea.
    In all I can say is that since taking this stuff I have felt so much better, it is not instant it takes time in fact it takes months but considering the alternative I thought it was worth a try.
    I also noticed with prolonged use I get pain in my muscles, but that is an indication to rest from it I have found, I don't know if it is causing other problems to my body but so far nothing that I can say that I have noticed.
    So I'm glad I did not have surgery so far, the doctor expected me to be back in hospital quick but no.
    I don't think there is a quick fix for this problem, it is a slow solution.
    Surgery would be quicker but it was not for me.
    If you have an infection it may be your only solution.

      I think everyone's situation is different. For me I had way too many. And if any of them got stuck in my bile duct it can be life threatening.

    • @flitsies
      @flitsies Год назад

      @@thepardillos509 Yes it can be dangerous but what I don't understand is why they always go for removal of the bladder rather than removing the stones when they clearly have the ability to justice rid of the stones.

    • @flitsies
      @flitsies Год назад +1

      @@thepardillos509 I would think there was a way to I cert something into the bladder that helped melt the stones as they are only usually cholesterol,.
      Also by removing the bladder it does not address the problem of why the stones formed in the first place, I was told its to do with the liver being a problem, so wouldn't it make more sense to fix the problem with the liver and then every thing should become less of a problem as the stones would be melted away.

    (And after surgery when i was back from the nap I couldn't breathe properly and my abdomen was so much hurting till 3 days
    After one week when i had my sutures removed my one incision has collected Seroma inside and started leaking but fortunately it has gone after one day)
    Since 9th days post op it is 16th day and i can't walk properly or eat full of my meal, my stomach looks like sore, bloated and swollen and I can't lay on my sides properly coz it's hurting, and I think I'm one in 1000 people who have surgery complications.
