So beautiful. Just stunning. I love aquarium plants. I can’t grow plants outside but I can grow aquatic plants so I’m trying to figure out how to trim one of my taller plants and replant it. I just don’t know where to cut it
With how big aquascaping has become I am blown away that your channel hasnt equally done the same! This video was extremely informative and just makes SENSE! Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to the hobby.
I have this aesthetic problem with my plants all the time when i trim them, get the roots out and plant the tops is kinda to much work, but sure the best solution. 👍
question for you, great fan here, everytime i trim my ammanlia gracilis they dont grow back and the tip turns black like rotting and no other shoots coming why is that, I dose fertilizers co2 and nutrient substrate also high light
I'm new to this hobby and always looking for different options. From I've seen most on YT is people trimming the tops and then just replanting the cut stems to get the nice dense, full look. Pulling the entire plant to just replant the top seems like added work and the stem doesn't get "bushy". The stems will fork from where you last cut giving a fuller look won't it?
Good video. Just not sure about the human adaptation comparison. I agree it will take me time to adapt if I move from Florida to Alaska. However, if I get frostbite, I don’t cut off my hand because it was raised in Florida. 😂
Love the new style and extremely helpful! How long have you been keeping this scape? I see a lot of talk about rescaping and restarting a system with new substrate each year or so. Curious what you do to keep it so clean!
Hi Joel! It was interesting what you said about removing the existing growth on plants you have received from another tank / setup. I just bought a new anubias from a store and planted it in my tank. Based on what you are saying, should I cut off all of the top 60% of existing leaves and replant the leaves? Thanks for all your videos and great content man!
When you have a bank full of money such a strategy might be an opinion i guess whereas most that dont would probably opt to propagate from cuttings from the offset.....!

Just what i was looking for a lot of work for sure but I think is the best way to keep it organized and clean
I dig this format/style a lot man. Well done Joel, very well done.
I have been wondering how to make my plants look good in my tank. Thanks a bunch Joel. This was a much needed vid!
Hey Joel,
I watched a video you made back in 2012. Ouch. You have come a long way, baby. I absolutely love your videos. Thanks.
Ouch?
Hey Joel, great way to explain the process and the reasoning behind the replanting if trimmed stems. Good stuff mate. 🌱
It makes perfect sense... as always, thank you for sharing.. what a wonderful way to begin the day!! I hope you and your family have a blessed day!

What do you think they do to frostbite limbs? They cut them off. It's not always people from Florida, though likely a higher percentage.
SUPER video ;-)
Very informative. Any tips for ludwigia inclinata tornado???
Hey men what u said about harvesting your own plant in your water that a really good idea
And time to time buy unique plants
I don't know if it helps or hurts, but after making a cut I've always removed some of the bottom leaves near the cut before replanting.
Haven't seen it helping or hurting, certainly makes it easier to plant! So, I remove.

Three years. Was used aquasoil when started it then also.

I had stones in my small aquarium and it seemed to damage the roots when trying to plant them.
