  • Both teams put up a bunch of runs, but Slurpees fell to Toads 12-10 at Castle Rock Sports Complex on Tuesday. Toads collected 10 hits, while Slurpees had three.
    Slurpees fought back after falling down by seven runs in the third inning. The comeback fell just short though. Slurpees closed the gap by scoring on a walk, a walk, a walk, a walk, a single, a walk, a walk, a single, and a triple.
    Toads jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Davis N singled, scoring one run, and Ty D doubled, scoring two runs.
    Toads added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Matthew D walked, Davis walked, Ty doubled, Graham A walked, and Graham stole home, each scoring one run.
    Slurpees scored five runs on one hit in the bottom of the third inning. Theodore H drew a walk, scoring one run, Louis H drew a walk, scoring one run, Lelan M drew a walk, scoring one run, Jackson P drew a walk, scoring one run, and Logan S singled, scoring one run.
    Slurpees took the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning after Ryan S walked, Theodore walked, and Louis singled, each scoring one run.
    Toads made the score 12-9 in the top of the fifth after Davis singled, scoring one run, Quinn B singled, scoring one run, and a steal of home scored two runs.
    Maverick D earned the win for Toads. They allowed one hit and five runs over two-thirds of an inning, striking out two and walking seven. Bradley M took the loss for Slurpees. The righty went two innings, allowing four runs on four hits, striking out five and walking two. Ryan opened the game for Slurpees.
    The righty gave up six hits and eight runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking four. Davis started on the hill for Toads. The starting pitcher gave up zero hits and one run over two innings, striking out four and walking three.
    Theodore and Louis were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Slurpees. Logan, Bradley, and Louis each collected one hit for Slurpees. Theodore paced Slurpees with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying 16 walks for the game. Logan, Nathan M, and Dominic T each stole multiple bases for Slurpees. Slurpees ran wild on the base paths, piling up 10 stolen bases for the game. Slurpees were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error.
    Logan made the most plays with 12.
    Toads amassed 10 hits in the game. Ty drove the middle of the lineup, leading Toads with three runs batted in. The shortstop went 2-for-3 on the day.
    Quinn, Maverick, Ty, and Davis each collected two hits for Toads. Matthew led Toads with two walks.
    Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting six walks for the game. Graham, Quinn, Maverick, Ty, Davis, and Matthew each stole multiple bases for Toads. Toads ran wild on the base paths, tallying 22 stolen bases for the game. Toads were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error.
    Maverick made the most plays with seven.
