Barry! Thank you, this was amazing. I’m in tears watching these wonderful people sharing their thoughts. Maybe one day I will be able to figure out how to record and share mine. I also look forward to watching this video again and writing down some of their tips.
Thank you, Barry. I enjoyed taking part and it’s lovely to watch the videos sent to you. What lovely viewers! There are some really encouraging moments and every video has wonderful points.
Barry! This is such a fabulous thing you're doing with your channel ! I'm obsessed. lol. This was so fun to see other folks sharing their great insights. And helped me add some new channels to follow. Thanks for all you're doing
Hi, Barry! This video was fantastic…the way each individual’s video was presented was so well done, and each contributor was very engaging and informative. I loved hearing each of their “stories” and they were all indeed a blessing to me! 😇 You, Barry, are a blessing to all of us for doing this, and for inspiring others to look into the analog life as well. Thank you so much for that, and I really look forward to more! God bless all, Meline
Thanks so much for your very encouraging words, Meline; so much appreciated! :) Looking forward too to the next one - already have 3 people wanting to send me a video :)
Tremendous job, everyone. I like this idea. I was almost convinced to submit a clip for this episode; perhaps I'll muster the confidence to record one for Episode 2.
Greetings Barry from the southern part of the Untied States, specifically the state of Tennessee. I've been journaling for roughly 12 to 15 years , starting with little pocket field notes and moleskine pads, now I use Digbats. Thank you for this video and collab with fellow analog lovers in this digital world. I hope to continue to slow down in this fast paced world and keep to my notebooks as an escape. My late grandma journaled for over 40 years and I hope to someday reach that milestone. Much love and respect.
Greetings to you too good man! Lovely to have you here :) That's great you've been journalling a long time; and 40 years for your late grandma?! Wow!! The Digbats have lovely colours :) Thanks so much for leaving a comment!
Thank you so much for this compilation, Barry! I enjoyed hearing the insights of everyone. It's great to see how we all convey our ideas in so many different ways. I look forward to future installments.
What a cool idea this is! Love hearing the analog wisdom from others. There is an overall theme that I am noticing here, and that is written narration to retain information. This was made extremely popular by the educator named Charlotte Mason. @Arnya this is exactly me as well! I list dump it all our otherwise it becomes a tornado in my mind.
Charlotte Mason - very familiar with her excellent work. There is definitely that narration-retention common thread flowing throughout these videos. Delighted you enjoyed the video :)
Greg here, This was amazing thank you for letting me be a part of it. I enjoyed watching everyone's videos!! I am looking forward to seeing more in the future. Trying my best not to ramble on so I'll end this here. LoL God bless
Thank you Barry, I enjoyed this, it was a blessing and refreshing Less screen More analog life is the way to go I keep a gratitude journal, I brain dump when feel like it, keep a daily notes diary/journal, a shopping list, a planner, a commonplace creative journal, a goal tracker and all are in analog. As was mentioned or touched on by the contributors I find analog very good and better for us cognitively, mentally and overall than digital Digital has a place but best to use analog for what it is better at and because in doing that you lessen screen time Also analog can be faster It usually takes less steps to access pen and paper than digital Thanks for putting this together
@barrysanaloginsights you got me thinking with this video. While journaling my thoughts, a curious answer to why I journal surfaced. I think I will send you a video myself;)
Greetings from Rural New South Wales Australia. Wow...there is something to be said for algorithms. Last night I purchased from amazon a set of notebooks and pens plus a pack of coloured pencils. This morning my suggested playlist is full of channels such as yours. I chose you at random but so pleased I did because of the multiple suggestions on why and how I could use my purchase when it arrives. I am really looking forward to its arrival now. Thank you Barry and thank you everyone else for sharing.
Greetings to you too! Wow, perfect timing all round!! Wonderful! :) Thank you for sharing this; it's a great encouragement. Really hope you enjoy your new notebooks, pens, and pencils. Thanks again.
Thank you for this series. I am new to your channel and hope to see more. I have been struggling for years going back and forth between digital and analog ( I am just not willing to give up on analog ) and have not been able to find the correct balance as I live in a digital world that requires collaboration with others ( my wife for example ) so calendars and passwords work better if we can share easily. So perhaps you could explore how others navigate the divide. Also I have long been in search of the One Notebook to Rule them all ( think Daytimer or FiloFax ). The thing I like about those were removable pages; something I have lost with Moleskine and Traveler's Notebooks. Having multiple notebooks that I cannot rearrange the pages continues to present a challenge ( which isnt an issue with digital). Perhaps another area for exploring. Thanks again.
Hello Carl - great to see you here; delighted you enjoyed the video. I completely understand about trying to find a balance; it can be very difficult. I must admit I prefer being able to move pages around; I may experiment with a Plotter at some point. Thanks so much for your suggestions; much appreciated!
I find the problem with journaling is getting started, I don't want to spoil a nice new journal. Trying to find something worth writing, not wanting to ruin it with bad art or poor handwriting really puts me off. I've got a shelf full of brand new journals, or part filled journals for different subjects or hobbies that I've lost interest in. So I ended up writing notes on scraps of paper and putting them in a shoebox intending to transcribe them neatly into a journal later. Then I had the genius Idea of making my own journals, I grab a handful of different types of paper an stitch them together using a 5 stich bind. Now I don't care, I just jot down notes, doodles, stick things in and experiment without having to worry than a wasted a nice notebook.
Completely understand - many times I've bought a nice notebook, only for it to sit on a shelf for ages, because it was just "Too nice to use' :) It's brilliant what you do now; very inspiring!
May i suggest the Filofax clip book? I have the same issue. I am considering getting a bunch of A5 sheets and then using the clip book to make them 1 book. After i am done with a few pages then I plan to bind them into a journal. Let’s hope this works out!
@@barrysanaloginsights The clipbook is flat when opened. I find the normal Filofax a bit clunky. However, with the clipbook the ring binder does come in the way slightly when writing near the spine. This is not much of an issue when you fold it over.
