@@sammcturk8898 my Mom's maiden name was Dwyer(the family name was O'Dwyer- they dropped the O soon after their arrival in Ontario)It's absolutely amazing how many of us there are that can claim Irish heritage!😊
I'm USA. As a 7-8 year old in '61 we tap danced at a major performance auditorium in Sacramento, California, USA. I of course love watching you guys. Love the sound . Of course I would. At 67 I throw corn flour on my floor and dance everyday just for the hell of it. YOU GUYS ARE FABULOUS!!
Doesn’t matter one’s heritage, you can’t help but admire the Gardiner Brothers - their talent is nuclear, the love they have for each other is obvious and they exude joy which is an inner thing. They have it and share it. I can watch them dance for hours! Love that #Capezio sent them a package. Well deserved…only ballet shoes I’ve ever worn! Bravo on all counts!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤️❤️❤️
So funny guys, your feet just won't stand still, they just have to keep dancing! The years of training really do show, you move as one person - so in sync!! Always a fan😎
The Capezio split-sole jazz shoes are the best as they really allow you to articulate your foot due to having no centre sole section. They couple support with great flexibility. The _"strange-looking thing"_ at 4:27 needs to be cut to size to fit the the sole space behind your front tap. It'll stop you wearing through your soles in 5 minutes, stop the balls of your feet absorbing so much shock, and also stop you sliding across the stage! Your cobbler will cut and glue them for you. Remember to loosen your screws on your Capezio baffle plates, you'll get a much looser/better tap sound. Happy Tapping! 🤗
One year, about halfway to the city for a dance competition… my daughter realized that she forgot her tap shoes at home. (An hour away at this point) With no time to turn around, I was fortunate enough to know of a small dance store near our destination. We were in the parking lot well before opening, and I will be forever grateful that the employees let us in when they arrived before officially opening. I was in no position to haggle over pricing or options, I told my daughter to point out whatever pair looked like the best match to the shoes the studio had ordered. That was a pair of split sole tap shoes (possibly capezio🤔) that were easily 3 times the price of the shoes at home. Even being brand new, and not yet “broken in” … my young daughter fell in love with those shoes! Her junior company routine scored better than senior company that year as well 😉
"Happy Mail", can't go wrong. The performance shoes sound fantastic, such a richer tone. Watching you as Danelle said, behind the scenes is fascinating to watch. What a kind thing for Capezio to do. Thanks for sharing. xx
So awesome! Thank you for all of the work you do to bring light and joy to the world! We will be seeing you in May in Arizona! God bless both of you and keep you safe and healthy. You guys are FIRE!!! 🙏✝️🥰🇺🇸♥️
Thank you so very much, Gardiner brothers!!!! Love you doing this video! So very interesting… Love the fact that Capezio sent you those wonderful shoes, a practice pair, and a formal pair!! Besides, the T tops and the nice pants for practice!! I had worn Capezio shoes years ago, when I was a girl, taking ballet, tap dance, and toe/on point!!! Tap shoes may have been the only Capezio?! I was too young and that was too long ago!! I’m 74 now. Great advertising on their part!!! Happy practicing & dancing!!! You two!!! Love, Gay Michaelis ❤
Hi Michael and Matthew , I love to watch you dancing together. It's all so fast and synchronised to perfection. Such talent between you both. All the best for your future shows. I also love everything IRISH☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️ Trish Australia
What a WONDERFUL gift... they definitely have a deeper sound...and the practice shoes..looked very comfortable as well...the pants and shirt look great on both of you...Hats off to Capezio!!
Just realizing that you’re on your in the US with Riverdance + our Irish dance school all going to see Riverdance in Modesto, CA = you’ll be in the show. My son will be so pleased, you’re the reason he started in December. Thank you for all you do!
Just like on a piano or other instrument, when you mess up do NOT go back to the beginning--STOP, right there and START, right there at the mistake. These guys are professional, they KNOW!
Capezio has been around since 1887 quality product I had some dance wear made by them when I was in ballet and tap I love how the brothers make sure they compliment and thank the company for their gifts ❤
I have just discovered you and I'm absolutely thrilled 👏👏👏Have been binge watching 🤓🤓🤓..... You guys are such a pleasure to watch. Thank you for giving us you🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️
As a clog dancer in my youth, I was always excited about capizios. I finally got a pair as an adult with a set of Steven Stomper taps. Clogging taps are different as they include an extra piece of metal.
My Moms dance instructor was Mrs. Capezio in the 1930’s in LA. My mom did tap and ballet. .. and it just dawned on me that Matthew is the spitting image of George Harrison - love to hear some Beatles with your dancing too… Crackerbox Palace comes to mind. ❤
Capezio’s are AWSOME! I was a ballet dancer for many years and always had Capizio pointe toe slippers and regular ballet slippers. I’m sure you’ll love those tap shoes and get many years use from them. Your synchronicity is amazingly and beyond point! United States here. I’m from the State of Maine.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Capezio tap shoes are what my boy dancer prefers! He loves the sound and feel of them! It’s time for a new pair after using his current ones for 2 comp seasons
Just stumbled across one of your "shorts" and absolutely fell in love with your work. You two are phenomenal. Thank you for your posts. I can't wait to see more. ❤
Love watching your videos. Your dancing is out of this world, your synergy is amazing and the brotherly love is commendable and heart warming. Keep it going Michael and Matthew. Sending you lots of ❤❤ from 🇨🇦.
I could watch them tap dance all day and when they do the routine to Tulsa it is wonderful and I have played it on and off all day long, too. Are the brothers, or twins? One has a deeper voice than the other. Keep it up boys, you keep tap dancing alive to us. We love you.
❤the tap dancing with the sound it creates, every kid of my geriatric generation (lol) wanted to tap dance. We could buy tap parts & connect them to our shoes.😂
Fantastic, who needs music backing you up with those new shoes. Remember if Riverdance is coming to your town go see Michael and Matthew, we so enjoyed the Orlando show.
Firstly, I L❤ve you guys so much! My daughter danced competitively and they went through sooooo many shoes! Wondering how many pairs you guys go through, especially tapping on different surfaces! Love watching your videos!!!❤
Thanks for the great video and story. Love you guys in Riverdance and love the Capezio shoes! They are built for comfort and built to last. It's the brand I wore most all of the years I took tap lessons and when I taught tap.
Wonderful video!!! What fantastic gear for you both! I love seeing how you rehearse. Those tap sounds are so crisp and clear. Can you two do a remake of a Fred Astaire tap dance?
Oh and I do have done Irish blood in me! Amongst a lot of other kinds. lol Some fun facts. My maternal great grandmother's family Morrish came out to settle in idyllic northern NSW as Selectors, from Ireland in the 1870s, or something like that. My maternal grandfathers side, Hilliers, came out as convicts , but later settled in Yass NSW I think.
Even if you only have one drop of Irish blood in your body, you can't help but love these boys and the awesome talent they have!

Married to a pure Irish ( more than 700 years of pure lineage proven) for 43years count ❤

So nice to see two brothers give each other a hug so naturally and enjoy each others' company so much.
Yes. It's easy to tell that they love one another. I have three brothers and we have the same loving bond.
Yeah it warms the heart to see that
it's where they come from. they're brought up better than the people in the United States we don't have any respect for anybody anymore
I agree with laurabaker9121. There is no respect - it's all for oneself - no values.
Such dedication, but take a break, every now and then!! Everyone needs a break, and time to relax!! 😊

It actually makes me wonder what your warm up routine is like. Is there such a thing as an Irish Dance barre? Stretching? Pilates? Gym?

Were they exchanged, or did Capezio send an additional pair of joggers?
