Going to be attempting this at some point this week. This is fantastic for someone who knows how it all works but hasn't done something like this themselves.
Got myself a 240Gb SSD I'll be slapping windows 10 or 8.1 on (yet to decide) and an 8Gb 1600Mhz RAM stick along with a brand new battery. Original SSD died and the battery holds less charge than a singing birthday card.
Refreshing is cheaper than buying a new one. Especially when I don't need it for any heavy workloads, just light gaming, video calling and web browsing while travelling.

@@wiggles3000 do you have to clone the windows 10 onto the new SSD before installing? I am just confused about the existing software transfer process to the newly upgraded ssd?

Thanks, very useful, upgraded my 6GB Toshiba to 10GB. The only annoying thing was the security torx screw in the middle, I ended up just using a drill extraction set and extracting it that way. I just threw that thing away after.

@@muhammad_hasnat speed no, just the ampunt of stuff I am able to do at once. Can open up a bunch of different programs at once without worry.

About SSD upgrade, I have tried Kingston KC600 256GB and 512GB consecutively. The BIOS sees both SSD's, I am able to install Windows 10 Pro, however the BIOS is not able boot from both SSD's. I tried BIOS factory defaults and many BIOS setup configurations, it did not work. Tomorrow I will try Longline 240GB mSATA SSD, I will inform the result.

I have a Toshiba, portege Z935, and Ii would like to know if the battery of that model is the same of this one, because I need to change the battery I don't find the one of the model. Do you know which model of battery I can use? Thank you in advance.
